There is an alleged extortion plot involving Jay Z master recording

Chauncey Mahan a music producer who use to work with Jay Z is under investigation for extortion plot against the rap mogul.  Jay Z legally owns all of his master recordings, but  Chauncey has in his possession master recording tapes of Jay from 1998-2002.  The tapes in question went missing in 2002 they are tracks he recorded for Roc-A-Fella Records.  Chauncey contacted Live Nation requesting $100,000 for storage fee. Chauncey has had the tapes for over a decade he has them stored in a NOrthridge, California storage facility.  Live Nation arrange a meeting with Mahan then notified the Los Angeles Police Department of Mahan intention.  Mahan was taken in for questioning and but has not been arrested.  The master tapes were taken away for safe keeping until ownership can be determine.  In 2002 Live Nation filed a grand larceny complaint against Mahan once they discovered the recording went missing.
