BET has a new 4 part documentary series call "The Message". The documentary chronicle the change in Hip Hop since its inception in the 1970s. The documentary look at the origin and the path of the music and message. The series feature plenty of artist from the Hip Hop world such as Russell Simmons, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Mc Lyte, Funkmaster Flex, Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, Doug E. Fresh and many more. The series will air as the following:
Episode 1 The Birth and Proliferation of Hip Hop traces the roots of Hip Hop from it birth in New York.
Episode 2 Trial and Tribulation will the Hip Hop world be able to grow up in a world that is no longer just about peace, love, unity and having fun.
Episode 3 Women, Cash, Clothes Hip Hop explores a new reality of lasciviousness, wealth and entrepreneurship.
Episode 4 The Digital Revolution the internet creates new opportunities for Hip Hop to change the face of America.
The series air every Wednesday in June.
