The Ruff Ryder DMX has taken 250K out of his personal bank account to save his ex-wife’s home from foreclosure. Tashera Simmons, his ex-wife, shares the home with their four kids. With the mortgage going unpaid for almost four years which added up to $258,927.87 and DMX paid it in full.

The Wu-Tang member Raekwon says he pushed back his solo album because of the upcoming group album, A Better Tomorrow. But while speaking with HipHopDX at a press conference the rapper said his solo album would be coming in the first quarter of 2015. Hopefully we get a taste of what Raekwons solo album will sound like after we get the new Wu-Tang album in our hands.
The hacker group known as Anonymous is known to take action against those who go against the right to free speech and other political things they feel are unjust. They are for a lot of the stuff that Lupe Fiasco is for which is why it has come out that their latest target was Lupe’s label, Atlantic. Lupe has voiced his problems with his label in the past from having problems being able to release music how he wants. The latest one being that Atlantic wouldn’t put out his album until he had a “pop single”. But Anonymous decided to help out by threatening Atlantic on twitter stating that they would “launch a direct attack against your website, your associates, and your executives” if there was no release date for Lupes album immediately. Later that day Fiasco’s album Tetsuo & Youth finally got an official release date January 20th 2015.
Taylor Bennett who is an up-and-coming artist is mainly known for being the younger brother of Chance the Rapper. Taylor was arrested last Thursday after turning himself in for beating a man at a college party last week. Supposedly the attack happened on September 28th with the reports saying that Bennett attacked the 21-year-old college student after the man stepped on his shoe. The whole incident was caught on camera with sources saying the victim suffered “a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, impeded speech and headaches.” When Taylor was tracked down via social media he turned himself in and he and his accomplice are now being held on a bond of $75,000.
A former Bad Boy Records artist Ma$e who retired from rap way back in 1999 to become a minister has recently made his way back to the mic and people are questioning it. Charlamagne Tha God from the hit morning radio show The Breakfast Club called Ma$e a hypocrite and of course Ma$e didn’t like that. According to HipHopWired Ma$e pushed Charlamagne and security quickly came and sorted things out. It is also rumored that the two talked it out and Ma$e expressed interest in being on their morning show. Later on Charlamagne took to twitter to say he wasn’t pushed but Ma$e did run up get pushed and then they prayed together.
Last week Bobby Shmurda posted on instagram about not being paid for his shows going into a rant about the whole situation. Leslie Pollard who is Shmurdas mother and manager talked about his claims in a statement to Billboard. “It’s not that he’s not getting paid, it’s that he’s new to the business, There’s a chain of command that he has to go through before he gets his payment. I guess he’s thinking all the money should go from the front man to his hands—it doesn’t work like that. Of course they hold onto it so he actually does the show. Then it goes to his business manager, then to the touring accountant, and then to him.” Leslie stated.
Snoop Dogg is releasing his next album on Pharrell’s label, I Am Other. This comes after learning that Pharrell would be doing all of the production on Snoops next album. Jaden Smith was on twitter today (October 17) challenging rappers. The young artist is asking rappers to “please show me.” If they can out-do his bars. Jaden also said he already has two or three albums that are ready to drop. The young rapper/actor has already released a few songs this month that include “Fast” and “Melancholy” so looks like the world should get ready for more rap from Jaden and as we hear more about his projects we will let you know.
While in Spingfield, MA doing a show the Migos got into a physical altercation with fans. It is unclear what sparked the brawl though there is footage of Offset mean-mugging a fan which leads to pushing and then a fight. Things thankfully seemed to calm down pretty fast but this is not an uncommon thing to happen at a Migos show but they should really stop getting into brawls or venues will start to stop booking them.
Charlamagne the God the controversial radio show host from power 105.1 the breakfast club has recently sat down with Vlad TV. Charlamagne had some advice for the well-known Toronto rapper Drake saying he should stay away from strippers because they are nothing but bad news. “The only problem I have with that situation is Drake, you should not be fucking with strippers man. It’s 2014,” He said while speaking on the Drake/Jhonni Blaze situation. Charlamagne believes that strippers fabricate situations to get more fame so their credibility is low.
On Vince Staples EP Hell Can Wait which was released last week has a line in one of the songs that Vince thinks is the most important in the album. “These niggas fiendin’ for these luxuries they’ll never get’…because you don’t think about it like that,” said Vince in an interview with HipHopDX. “Everything that we look for as people coming from that situation…everybody wants to do better. According to the Hollywood Reporter Nelly will be starring in an upcoming reality show called “Nelly Ville. The show will “focus on the rapper navigating his hip-hop career, fashion business/co-owner of NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats and father to his biological children and his late sister’s children, all while balancing a relationship with Miss Jackson, Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s ex-girlfriend.” The first episode is supposed to be airing on November 25th at 10:30(9:30 Central) and the season will have eight hour long episodes.
While on ESPN’s “First Take” the rapper from Brooklyn, New York, Fabolous, was asked about the missing artist like Public Enemy and LL Cool J from the Def Jam 30th anniversary concerts roster. But Fab didn’t really give any clear cut answers to why Def Jams earliest artist aren’t on the roster but instead only said there would be a fusion of artist from past and present. A long with Fabolous some other artist scheduled to perform are DMX, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Foxy Brown, Jhene Aiko, Onyx, Method Man, and Redman.
