With many fans on his side, A$ap Yam tells interviewers about the rap of 2014. “We honestly have been very quiet. It’s been a stale ass year. Nothing has inspired us to drop nothing. So we went back to the drawing board with it. It’s drawing board season right now. It’s been a lot of wack shit. So it’s like, how are we going to fuck them up right now? How are we going to shake up the world right now? If you ain’t trying to shake up the world, you ain’t going to shake up shit.”

“It wasn’t any trends; musically it was a lot of dry-ass shit,” he said. “Everybody who was supposed to drop, dropped the ball. This is probably the worst year of rap music ever. Let’s be honest. This is the worst year of rap music ever. It’s just been allegiances and people hyping shit up. Man, that shit trash.”

Weeks back we found out via leak from DJ Skee that Jay Z and Beyonce are working on a joint album. Though no official word has come out about it more details have surfaced thanks to Page Six. NYPost is reporting that the “surprise” album is supposed to release later this year or early 2015. But in addition they are also saying that they are also working on a bunch of music videos and a movie that go along with the album’s release. There are no details on the subject matter of the movie but as always we will keep you up to date.

A judge has ordered 50 Cent to pay the headphone company Sleek more than $16 million according to Radar Online. These legal issues have been going on for a while even back in 2013 Sleek sued 50 because he was set to work with Sleek and invested $1 million to start his line of headphones though them. But 50 started to develop Sync by 50 with another company that Sleek says featured “basically the same design, mechanically” as the previous line developed by 50. Sleek also went after him for “misappropriating trade secrets, breaching his fiduciary duty owed to sleek, participating in a civil conspiracy, breaching his confidentiality agreement with Sleek, and being unjustly enriched,” according to Radar Online. So all in all it amounted to $16 million and though he tried to avoid paying the debt he ending up having to when the court finally ordered him to.

2014’s biggest hits seem to be mostly related to hip-hop with hits like Pharrell’s “happy” and Iggy Azalea & Charli XCX’s “fancy”. Nicki Minaj has just joined the group of platinum-selling hit singles with “Anaconda”. Nicki took to Instagram to spread the news saying “Just released on UK iTunes and is now certified #Platinum in America #Anaconda #PolowDaDon #Dalnternz @bigjuice205 on the boards baby!!!!!!! #ThePinkPrint 11.24.14” Plus the music video is also already breaking VEVO records so Nicki Minaj seems to be at the top of her game right now.

Seems that Robin Thicke’s major effort with his “Get Her Back” campaign and his album “Paula” failed to bring her back to him. According to TMZ Thicke’s wife Paula Patton has finally filed for divorce after nine years of marriage. The filing comes seven months after the couples separation citing “irreconcilable differences,” with Patton filing for joint custody of her and Robins four-year-old son, Julian. This is a little surprising since Robin Thick has been struggling with various substances but he also says he is trying to stay clean.

A stripper, Jhonni Blaze reportedly called the police on Drake and his crew. According to TMZ, Drake and Blaze had been arguing. Blaze then reported that Drake sent his boys to her house to threaten her and ensure that Blaze wouldn’t tell the media about their recent hook up. Jhonni Blaze later explained the situation publically on a morning show; her statement was much different from what was reported.

"I don’t have anything to say about Drake, I still think he’s a phenomenal artist, the reason why we fell out is because we got into an argument. Nothing wrong with that… I never called the police on Aubrey."

Rapper, 50 Cent explains how he would have built G-Unit differently if he had the chance.

“I wouldn't have built something that required me as their center. I would've built it so it functions on its own. When you look at it, they've sold millions of records on their own. If they weren't so strongly associated, they'd probably have crews under them. Everyone has known for a long time that Lupe is of the Muslim faith and if they didn’t they do now after he took to twitter for a Q&A. When someone asked him if Islam would one day become the worlds religion and conquer the world Lupe replied “yes.” Then when asked about the treatment of women he somewhat dodged the question saying “Depends. Where are women equal anywhere though?” Lupe’s fifth studio album is supposed to drop on December 2^nd titled “Testuo & Youth” Maybe he will convey his thoughts and ambitions in more detail throughout the album but we’ll have to wait and see.

When talking with Rolling Stone Malik Yusef of G.O.O.D. Music spoke about Kanyes follow up to Yeezus. “This album is different. It’s like a pair of Timberlands; like how Timberlands are not quite leather and not quite suede. It’s not the smooth, slick Chicago music sound we have right now and it’s not the ruggedness of just ‘hip-hop hip-hop hip-hop.’ We’re still working like a motherfucker. We’ve been all around the world [recording].” Malik said. Hopefully we get a single soon that will keep the fans satisfied until the album drops.

The final Def Jam album coming from LL Cool J is said to have been in the works for a long while. In an interview with XXL LL let loose that J. Cole, T.I., Raekwon, Loaded Lux, Murda Mook, Uncle Murda, Maino, Mavado, and Fred The Godson will all be on the project. “The concept behind the album was to give upcoming artist an opportunity to shine and to put myself in the position where I have to spit bars with some of the hardest rhymers in the game. its people I really respect lyrically; people I think are amazing on the mic.”  Cool J said. He says this next album will be culturally clear and defined and for the street mostly for the hardcore hip-hop fans.

The fifth year since its relaunch Los Angeles Radio Station 93.5FM is celebrating that and its sustained growth since that time. “With 10 consecutive months of record breaking 1 million-plus daily tune in, it shows that KDAY is a passion brand with unique engagement – a most excellent way to ring-in our fifth birthday on FM,” said Otto Padron, the president of Meruelo Media, that owns KDAY. What’s so unique about this station is that KDAY was the first all-Rap radio station in the United States and it is great to hear they are going strong having been around since the 1980s.

While on air at Power 105.1, Charlamagne publically criticized Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda”, claiming it to be a corny song. Once Nicki found out, she immediately unfollowed Charlamagne on Twitter, making it clear that his criticism affected her.

“Me and Nicki Minaj, I got love mad love for Nicki Minaj even though she ain’t fucking with me right now, she unfollowed me on Twitter. She’s made calls to people in radio, people that I work for, and said she’s never coming on the Breakfast Club again,” Charlamagne says.

“I know she got upset when I said I thought ‘Anaconda’ was corny,” Charlamagne added. “But my exact synopsis on ‘Anaconda’ when it first came out was, ‘I’m not really feeling this record. It’s not for me. It’s for girls, it’s for kids, it’s for people who like to shake their ass.’ I said when the video comes out, I will probably appreciate this song more. But I said, ‘This song is going to work, I just think its corny.’ That’s what I said…”

The NFL claims that their policies of branded exposure on-field were active since the 1990’s. There are rumors that Bose is the reason for the NFL suddenly reinforcing the rules; however, the NFL strictly denied those accusations. “Bose is not involved in the enforcement of our policies” Says a league member.

Too short, once again, fled the scene after being caught doing something wrong. Just last year he was pulled over by cops because he appeared to be driving under the influence and tried running but was caught later. The rapper has now brought a loaded gun into a southern California airport for some reason. The loaded gun was spotted by a TSA employee when Too Shorts luggage went through the baggage scanner. This is when he fled the scene leaving all of his baggage behind returning the following day with his lawyer and was cited for a misdemeanor possession of a loaded handgun in a public place. Short is due in court on November 3^rd.
