Def Jam will host a 30th anniversary party on October 16th at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. LL Cool J “I Need A Beat” and Beastie Boy “Hard Rock” were the first song released by Def Jam in 1984. Since then there has been many more artist and some of them will be performing at the celebration including Method Man, Foxy Brown, Rick Ross, Warren G and many other Def Jam artist. Def Jam is also going to release a multi-CD box set to mark its 30th anniversary the CD will contain star studded performances. In addition to the box set there will be a compilation of songs (13) which influence the Def Jam era.
Tickets for the Def Jam concert goes on sale on August 20th and the box set will be released on September 16th.
