Aaliyah cousin Jomo disapprove of the upcoming Lifetime network television dramatization of the singer. He does not think television is the right platform, he said "Aaliyah was a legend, she was an hugely influential artist of our culture. I think she deserves the treatment of a 'Walk The Line' or a 'Whats Love Got To Do With It' a big major movie." He said Lifetime never came to them about creating a movie. He and the family will try to produce a film representing the singer in the way they see fit. Zendaya Coleman has been cast as Aaliyah, there is no set date for the film. Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001 along with seven other people.
