SCDC inmates in a rap video has been identified

A  rap video has been posted on Worldstarhiphop.com featuring several South Carolina Department of Correction inmates. The almost six minutes video show the SCDC inmates with SCDC uniform rapping “I’m On” inside a prison cell.  Eight inmates have been identified and will be punished.  Official still working to identified the rest.  Inmates in custody at SCDC are not allowed to have cellphones or internet access.  Since the video surface the SCDC has beefed up security and they plan on buying thermal imaging camera.  Contraband such as cell phone are being smuggled into prison by visitors.  The SCDC plan on using portable metal detectors that can scan people and item being brought into the prison.  At Kershaw Correctional Institution a cell phone was use to shoot inmates performing a rap song.  SCDC is trying to have the website remove the video but it might be too late since the video had spread around.  The incident tells us we need to be more vigilant in looking for contraband.  Accomplice have many way of sneaking drugs and other illegal items into the most secure prisons.
