50 Cent Depart From Shady Records

On February 20, it was announce that 50 Cent and G-Unit Records has left Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records after a 12 year relationship.  During his 12 year with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope he release Get Rich or Die Trying, The Massacre, Curtis and Before I Self Destruct.  All those album will continue to be marketed and sold by Shady/Aftermath/Interscope.  In a statement, 50 Cent thanks Dr. Dre and Eminem for giving him an incredible opportunity.  50 Cent said “he learned so much from them through the years”.  The two rappers run Aftermath and Shady Records.  In 2012 50 Cent was not happy with his label. He said “i have lost all faith in the team i am on”.  50 Cent is now an independent artist.
In a statement, Eminem said “both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had a chance to play a part in 50’s career.  Shady would not be what it is without 50 Cent”.  “I’ve developed a great friendship with 50 over the years and that’s not going to change”.  “We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit”.  Last year 50 Cent said “My career wouldn’t even exist, I wouldn’t even be talking to you if it wasn’t for Em”.  50 Cent also said “It is amazing  that later in your life you could find someone that means so much to the comfort in your actual life.  My grandparents were that for me before Em”.
