After the epoch-making unveiling of A Tribe Called Quest’s long-awaited final album, “We got it from Here…Thank You 4 Your service” and an extraordinary appearance on Saturday Night Live, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Consequence, and Busta Rhymes continue to create new visuals for the exceptional and politically drive track, “We The People.”
The video was shot in the Big Apple, the group’s hometown, featuring the gang rapping on a collection of vintage mic’s as their words blasted across New York City. Contained in the video is an emotional clip of a mural of the late Phife Dawg that comes to life and shows the Five Foot Assassin’s hologram expectorating out his verse.
Featuring collaborations ranging from Kanye West and André 3000, to Jack White, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, and of course, Busta Rhymes. The new album is being hailed as one of the most significant things to happen to Hip Hop this year, and the power behind the accompanying video is liken to icing on a virtual cake.
