During an interview with the Jewish Chronicle, Hip-Hop and R&B artist Drake says he considers himself the first musician to successfully combine singing and rapping.

Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, is only 25 years old living a life of a multi-millionaire jet setter. He was to born to Dennis Graham, an African-American musician from Memphis, and his mother, Sandi, is a Jewish Canadian, The JC reports.

The former Jimmy Brooks on Canadian hit teen drama Degrassi realizes he's not the first to attempt to incorporate melody into rap, but he told The JC he deems himself the the first person to be successful at it.

According to The Versed, Drake feels he's been graciously welcomed into the Hip-Hop family. He credits a lot of his success to just being himself. "Yes, there are aspects of it that are new in the rap world, but it's not a gimmick. I just sort of exist and people embrace it. I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself everyday."

In response to Drake's interview, The Source has released a blog titled "10 Artists That Did It Better Before, Before Drake." The list is designed to defy Drake's statement, which has already caused a bit of a stir.

The Source's list includes: 1. Queen Latifah 2. Diddy. 3. Cee Lo Green 4. Ja Rule 5. Andre 3000 6. Mary J. Blige 7. Nelly 8. Lauryn Hill 9. Pharrell, and 10. Kanye West.
