Born Rafiq, hailing from West Philadelphia short for FIQ who from a young age had a profound passion and natural attraction to music, fashion and of course the stage.

FIQ wanted to create music that everyday people could relate to and appreciate him for. So he took a combination of songs that he viewed that were about growing up and seeing amid violence, hardships in ghettos, racism, and other social economic problems and conflicts around him.

His style of explicit and controversial lyrics are catchy, methodical engaging and undeniable over hypnotic beats. He draws you in with every hook and catch phrase from beginning to end.

FIQ makes music to captivate to the masses and to All genre’s, from club bangers, pop, rock, and r&b and anything in-between. Whatever he sets his mind to, he simply conquers it masterfully.

One of FIQ’s biggest accomplishments to date was a collaboration with rap veteran and signed artist Freeway entitled “Make It Do One Thing” a single off his first mixtape “High Cost Of Living” which was released in February 2012. Which received national buzz and recognition around the country, as well as on countless mixtapes, radio stations and blog sites.

FIQ also gained the attention of well-known DJ QUE ELEVEN of Chicago and Super Producer dieselbeats when he was approached to do a song that was featured on the ALIEN EP project which was released December 12, 2012 currently available on iTunes. The single is entitled “Bout Mine” which has gained national notoriety and some serious momentum as too the clever and unique style FIQ brings to the hip hop industry.

Currently FIQ is diligently in the studio working on his first album, still untitled but set to release later this year. So stay tuned to for some conscience, relate-able and relevant sounds from an artist who is always delivering a different prospective through his own vision.
