In the midst of the Robin Thicke and Pharrell case because of their hit “Blurred Lines” being so similar to Marvin Gaye’s 1997 hit song “Got to Give It Up” another producer is saying he feels he owed for the plagiarizing of one of his songs. This producer is Jermain Dupri who was interviewed by Associated Press recently where he expressed thoughts on the Pharrell & Thicke case saying “”Younger producers like myself and Pharrell, we make records that are influenced by other records that are out there,”. “I believe the same thing has happened to me.” Dupri said, Ciara’s new single “I Bet” is very similar to Ushers hit from 2001 “U Got It Bad”. Jermaine is now planning to contact Ciara to make sure he gets the proper credit.
