A new ad campaign by Sprite called “Obey Your Verse” will feature rap quotes on the cans. Sprite was actually one of the first advertiser to welcome rappers in to reach out to urban communities. When most other companies would reach out to the more pop culture friendly rappers Sprite would reach out to the real hip-hop artist like Curtis Blow and Heavy D. Yesterday they had a press confress where they announced they would have classic and modern rap lyrics on their cans. You’ll find Rakims “Thinking of a master plan.” And Drakes “Started from the bottom”. This ad campaign will go on through the Summer. Check out some of the designs below.
