Game: I Am NOT On Cash Money Or Sleeping With Khloe Kardashian

Game-Kanye_West-hhdx

That was quick. Less than 3 months after Birdman and Game hinted at Game being signed to Cash Money Records, Game tells Karen Civil TV that he is in fact not signed to Cash Money.

Touting himself as a “Free agent”, Game reasons that the Cash Money deal has not materialized, because the two parties are working out the details:

It’s just trying to find what’s best for Cash Money, what’s the best for Game at this point in his career, but that’s where I’m at at this point. Of course, nothing’s written in stone but that’s where I’m leaning. So we’ll see.

Another rumor Game is ready to dismiss is the one implying that he is having an adulterous relationship with married Khloe Kardashian. According to Game, Khloe and his friendship dates back to his pre-fame days where the two shared a  five bedroom house with a few other of Game’s friends in Burbank, CA. He also dispelled any notion that his fiancée Tiffany Cambridge ever accused him of sleeping with Khloe:

Lamar is the homie, that’s his wife. Khloe’s loyal to their marriage, so that’s what it is. I mean I understand the media people see stuff and try to twist it but, that ain’t nothing.  Tiffany ain’t never seen a picture of Khloe or me with Khloe and ever came at me like ‘what you doing with Khloe’, because that’s family.

Arsenio Hall Tells Kanye Get “The F*ck Outta Here”

4-Kanye_West-hhdx

Kanye West seems to have got his facts wrong and ruffled the feathers of Arsenio Hall. During his speech at the GRAMMY Nomination concert, Hall dismissed Kanye’s accusation that racism caused The Arsenio Hall Showto be discontinued  in 1994.

During his interview on The Breakfast Club in November, Kanye said that Arsenio Hall was fired from his show for “turning up too much.” Hall refuted that claim and gave more context to the end of The Arsenio Hall Show in the 90s:

I just left my show, the white man didn’t do nothing this time, bruh. Save that for when the White man do do something. Don’t muddy the waters of racism with my bullsh*t, because it was not racism. I just left my show.

A reason Kanye may feel Hall was fired for “turning up too much” is the commonly believed notion that Hall’s controversial interview with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan in February 1994 upset CBS, where the show was aired. In an interview withVIBE Magazine this past September admitted that the interview may have destroyed some of the love people had for him.

Hall was not finished with reprimanding Mr. West as he gave Kanye and the media present a quick history lesson on the term “Slave” and denounced its use in songs:

I hate the word ‘slave’ used in songs. The f*ck outta here. Do you know what that word is? Do you know what that word is all about? Nobody can use ‘slave’ in pop culture. If you’re in the music business, you shouldn’t f*ck with that word. Too serious an era. Too serious a problem in America. There is no one that’s free to move around this country that should use the word ‘slave.’ Do you know what it meant to slaves?

Macklemore_02-22-2013

They say you are what you listen to but an amendment to that adage could be: you also could become a maniac over music. A Colorado couple engaged in domestic violence when 24 year old Samantha Malson choked her 26 year old boyfriend Lars Hansen after Hansen would not stop rapping the lyrics to Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop”.

According to a Longmont Police Department report, Malson accused Hansen of drinking all of the alcohol in the house before she choked him after Hansen refused to stop singing the lyrics to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop”. She admitted “I grabbed him around the throat” after Hansen refused to stop, because “He just annoyed me.”

Malson was charged with domestic violence, ordered to pay a $212.50 fee, an 18-month probation program and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ hit single “Thrift Shop” was the third most streamed song on Spotify in 2013 and is nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Kanye West has released a series of Twitter updates regarding Nelson Mandela’s passing.

In the series of Twitter posts, West discussed Mandela’s family, life and legacy.

“Mandela sacrificed his life for the betterment of mankind,” West wrote in a Twitter post. “Thank you, Mandela, for your life’s work and may it serve as a guiding light to illuminate our future.”

West also denied recent reports made by some outlets concerning West’s comments about Mandela.

On Friday (December 6), The Daily Currant posted a false interview claiming to be with Kanye West. The Daily Currant refers to itself as “The Global Satirical Newspaper of Record,” according to Huffington Post. However, other publications picked up the story and attributed the quotes to West.

In the made-up interview by the site, West said that he believes he is “the next Nelson Mandela.”

“I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense,” The Daily Currant claimed West said. “By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was.”

Nelson Mandela, a South African activist and leader of the anti-apartheid movement, passed away Thursday (December 5). He was 95.

Master P Paid For Slain Mother Andrea Arnold’s Funeral

3-masterp_11-17-2010

Master P is looking to be more than a glorified celebrity Santa Claus for many children who have lost their parents to violence. Today (December 9th), Master P announced that he will cover the costs of the funeral for Andrea Arnold, a mother of three who was shot and killed in Louisville.

During the morning of November 30th, Arnold’s dead body was found by sanitation workers in an alley between Hill Street and West Gaulbert Avenue. As of today (December 9th), no arrests have been made. Henry McBride Jr. who owns nearby Dave’s Food Mart informed local news outlet WDRB that Arnold’s dead body is not the first found in that alley:

[expand title=”More Mbiz” tag=”h2″]

It’s real, real spooky. I know the people that live back there in that alley and say this is the second time they’ve found a body back in that alley.

Master P’s younger brother, Kevin Miller, was also murdered as well as robbed by a heroin addict decades ago, which Master P says in a press release is a reason for his involvement with the Arnold funeral. In a statement, the No Limit boss is calling for the Louisville community to band together to find Arnold’s murderer(s):

I’m begging the community to come together and find out who did this to
this little girl’s momma. That would be the biggest Christmas gift we could
give to her and her other siblings

Master P will  will also put on a benefit concert next Sunday (December 15th) at the Gillespie with proceeds going to buying toys and presents for other children who lost their parents to violence.

Prior to news of Arnold’s tragic death, Master P was already working on a documentary on incarceration and violence in the Black community. With some of the documentary filmed in Louisville, P spoke on his motivation for making such a documentary with local news outlet WKLY:

My mission is to motivate the next generation and to motivate these kids saying if I made it you can make it. This is not just a film or a movie. We talk about people that come from the streets. I got a brother dead, I got a brother incarcerated, so I know on a firsthand basis what’s going on.  I would like to spread the love to the kids and babies lets instill something in them of education because that’s what saved my life

Timbaland Says God Played A Role In Apology To Jay Z

Timbaland-Drake-hhdx

Virginia producer Timbaland touched on a variety of topics in his recent interview with New York Magazine, including today’s music, being humbled during his time spent out of the spotlight, and apologizing to Jay Z.

According to Timbaland, his apology to Jay Z at the Brooklyn rapper’s concert at Barclays Center last year was brought about after the producer says God did some work on him. In addition to apologizing to Jay Z in person at Barclays, Timbaland also penned the apology record, “Sorry,” which he previously revealed includes a guest appearance from singer Keri Hilson.

“I’m very religious so I’m gonna put it in this terms: God done work on me,” said Tim. “That’s the best way I can put it. God did a lot of work on me, and when I looked in the mirror I saw a different person. I did some changing, and the first person I apologized to was Jay.”

[expand title=”More Mbiz” tag=”h2″]

Although Timbaland has produced records for Jay Z, Nelly Furtado, Aaliyah, and countless other artists, the beatsmith did at one point find himself out of the spotlight when it concerned his music. He spoke briefly to New York Magazine about that time in his life and also commented on what he feels is the lack of stars when it concerns today’s generation of artists.

“Every year changes, every generation, “said Timbaland. “I feel like I was getting whacked. The music of today, it’s not like the music I’m making. And, um. It just…It was humbling.

“They have no stars in this generation,” he added. “They have these D.J.’s, techno-whatever, that’s not music. That just goes to show you that drugs is that popular. don’t want to feel like I’m dissing people. Because guess what, they found a way to make a living for theyself. So who am I to dis the next man who know how to make a living for theyself?”

In addition to his recent work on albums from both Justin Timberlake and Jay Z, Timbaland has also been hard at work preparing for the release of his next solo album, Textbook Timbo. The album will reportedly include guest appearances from Jay and Timberlake as well as Drake and Pharrell Williams. The producer recently previewed a handful of tracks from the album while traveling in Europe in October.

Jay Z Is Just Getting Started With Huge Robinson Cano Deal

jay-z-40-40

While there were many critics who believed that the Brooklyn mogul could not effectively make the transition from music to athletics, the recent 10-year/$240 million contract with the Seattle Mariners Jay secured for Cano seems to be proving the naysayers wrong for the moment. Another one of Roc Nation’s athletes expressed his view that the third largest contract in baseball history was just the beginning for Jay and Roc Nation.

“It’s just a stepping stone,” said New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz. “It’s a true testament to the way [Jay Z] does his business, and the way he goes about it — the right way.”

Roc Nation/CAA is now home to Cano, Cruz, NBA superstar Kevin Durant, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, and WNBA player Skylar Diggins. On the music side, there is talk that Jay is about to add L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle to the Roc Nation roster after recently signing separate deals with Young Jeezy’s CTE imprint and producer DJ Mustard.

MC Hammer Owes About $800,000 Taxes

WPTV-MC-Hammer-mugshot_20130224082507_320_240

MC Hammer allegedly owes the federal government nearly $800,000 in back taxes.

TMZ reports that the feds have sued Hammer and his wife, alleging that they failed to pay $798,033.48 in taxes in 1996 and 1997.

This isn’t the rapper’s first sign of legal trouble, as Hammer originally filed for bankruptcy in 1996 after accruing $13 million in debt. His well-publicized financial troubles culminated in the sale of his mansion for a significantly reduced price. He admitted using most of his $20 million fortune in 1997. Hammer also faced obstruction charges in California earlier this year, but they were dropped.

Hammer also made headlines in 2010 when he took offense a Jay Z lyric from Kanye West’s “So Appalled,” resulting in a diss track from Hammer.

Kanye West Apologizes To Nike

kanye-cs

After vocalizing frustration with Nike, Kanye West says he is sorry.

“I really feel honored to have had the chance to blow Yeezy [sneakers] up with Nike,” West said in an interview with I Am Tall Boy. “I really appreciate everything they did for me. I’m not knocking them on the way out or burning no bridges. I apologize for my frustration earlier.”

West has now confirmed a deal with adidas. During the Tall Boy interview, West also spoke about how that compares to his work in music.

“Man, it just feels good to be able to create more,” West said, “[to] create product that I can control the pricing on, that I can do quality control on and I feel very comfortable to have a great partner backing my ideas and allowing me to think and be creative, giving me that shot the same way how Dame [Dash] gave me a record deal ten years ago, gave me a shot and I was able to do something creative with it.”

[expand title=”More Mbiz” tag=”h2″]

In November, Kanye West spoke about his frustration with Nike during a concert.

“They try to act like people ain’t line up for the Yeezys,” Kanye said. “[Nike CEO] Mark Parker tried to son me. Yes. Son me because I am the sun and I will shine bright. And when I don’t have as much money as a billionaire and when I don’t have the factories that, that dude has over there, what I do have is my voice. Ain’t no corporation that can take me away from my voice and I’m going to scream at the top of my motherfucking mountain as loud as I want. Anything I want. Whenever I want. Is that crazy? So I’m going to make the announcement on Monday with the corporation that finally let me get an opportunity to create.”

In the same month, West spoke with New York radio station Hot 97 about his work with Nike and his then-rumored work with adidas.

“The old me, without a daughter, might’ve taken the Nike deal because I just love Nike so much, blah blah blah, but the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal, because I have royalties, and I have to provide for my family,” West said.

Waka Flocka Says Gucci Mane “Doesn’t Exist” To Him

waka-flocka-flame-2012-07-12-300x300

Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane’s run together came to an end last year and the two have been asked about one other frequently since.

Recently sitting down with Vlad TV, Waka was asked about his thoughts on Gucci Mane and replied that he was unaware of who that was.

“Who is that? He don’t exist to me,” Waka Flocka Flamesaid. “I don’t got time for nobody, my watch stopped on me man.”

The Atlanta, Georgia native was also asked about the recent management split between French Montana and Waka’s mother, Debra Antney.

“That’s my brother,” Waka replied when asked about whether it had an affect on his relationship with the Coke Boys artist. “That’s my brother, happy birthday, belated birthday, that’s my brother. Business is business, personal is personal, ain’t no one crossing personal boundaries, that was just business. A lot of stuff you’ve got to respect it as business.”

[expand title=”More Mbiz” tag=”h2″]

In late October, Waka questioned the authenticity of Gucci Mane’s craziness and said he doesn’t believe it’s real.

“I feel like it’s a gimmick,” Waka said. “Ain’t nothing crazy about him… Man, I been got out of a contract with Gucci…Me and him fell out 2012, but we kept it in house. He the person that spilled the beans.”

Gucci Mane recently made headlines regarding legal issues. The former Atlantic Records signee has been charged in federal court with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon, leaving the rapper facing major jail time. The charges, which stem from two September incidents during which the rapper showed a gun and threatened police, could land Gucci in jail for 20 years.
