KimYe Stops Plane, Gets In Trouble With Airport Security

kanye-west-and-kim-kardashian

When Kanye West was apart of one duo he once asked “who gon’ stop me, huh?” TSA gave the Kanye and Kim Kardashian (KimYe) duo that answer when the celebrity parents-to-be had their plane delayed due to bypassing security clearances at New York City’s John F Kennedy airport.

Returning from their samba-filled Brazil trip with Will Smith and Duane Martin Tuesday (Feb. 12), the power couple received some unauthorized help reaching their connecting flight to LAX from an opportunistic American Airline staff member.

“An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area,” says a spokesman for the Transpiration Security Administration (TSA) ”in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” Since the unnamed airline employee “violated security protocol” KimYe’s connecting flight was delayed an hour while TSA “conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway.”

It’s not all love and appreciation for the reality show beauty and the microphone beast recently. Ms. Kardashian’s laywer in her pending divorce case with ex-husband Kris Humphries claims the Brooklyn Nets star is holding the case “hostage” because of alleged “uncooperative third parties,” according to a report from E! Online. Humphries’ camp attributes the delay to Kris’ legal right to be present during Kim’s deposition, however his basketball season lasting until mid May complicates Kim’s request for an expedited trial in order for the divorce to be finalized by the time she gives birth in July.

Her other half has drawn the critical ire from lauded electro-house  producer (and frat house legend) Deadmau5 in a recent interview with VIBE. When asked whom the Canadian musician would like to design a live show, he responded frankly with “Anyone other than f—ing Kanye. I f—ing hate him.”

The G.O.O.D. Music general is working on his as-of-yet untitled follow-up to his 2010 classic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy with past collaborators The-Dream and Malik Yusef both praising the new recordings.

Drake & Chris Brown Sue Each Other Over Nightclub Brawl

1-2-Drake_Chris_Brown-Lawsuit-hhdx

Drake and Chris Brown make matters legal in the aftermath of last year’s nightclub brawl.

Drake and Chris Brown have filed suit against each other over last year’s nightclub brawl in New York City, New York.

According to TMZ, the artists have filed legal documents blaming each other on injuries incurred during the bottle-throwing incident at the W.i.P. club. Drake and Brown both claim that they were not responsible for the fight and want the other party to pay any damages in the event that model Romain Julien, who sued them both over injuries, wins his lawsuit. This marks the first time that the two artists have gone after each other in court.

The initial incident occurred in June 2012 after Drake and Brown allegedly threw bottles at one another at the club. Meek Mill, who was present during the melee, said that he didn’t see either artist hurl a bottle.

In the wake of the fracas, Brooklyn resident Howard Clement sued W.i.P. over injuries he sustained during the incident. Two club-goers as well as San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker also filed multi-million dollar suits over the matter.

Last November, authorities decided not to file criminal charges against Drizzy and Breezy. In December, Drake asked a judge to dismiss the case and said that the club had “a history of violence and other problems.”

Lil Wayne Under Fire For Disrespectful Emmett Till Lyric, Epic Records Pulls Song

lil-wayne

Lil Wayne is under intense scrutiny for a rap lyric that blatantly disrespects the memory of Emmett Till, a young boy that was murdered in 1955 for whistling at a white woman.

The rapper appears on the Future song “Karate Chop,” where he proclaims he would beat up a woman’s private parts like Emmett Till.

Epic Records has already released a statement indicating that they are pulling the remixed record, which was apparently leaked to the internet.

“We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s `Karate Chop,’ which was leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics,” the statement said. “Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. … we are going through great efforts to take down the unauthorized version.”

Another version of the song is coming out without the reference to Emmet Till. The move corresponds with the wishes of the family.

Earlier this week, the family of the Till family has released a statement expressing their outrage at the lyric.

Airickca Gordon-Taylor, founding director of the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation, said the song is “disappointing, dishonorable, and outright disrespectful to our family.”

“My agenda is not to be disrespectful to Lil Wayne, even as much as I feel he’s been disrespectful to my family. We just want Emmett’s name removed from that song. That entire segment is very misogynistic and promotes domestic abuse toward women by our own race.” Gordon-Taylor told the Sun-Times on Wednesday.

“But it also shows total disregard of where you’ve come from. He wouldn’t even be out there rapping these stupid lyrics without the sacrifice Emmett made. Personally, I think Lil Wayne should just go ahead and apologize to my family. It’s hurtful.”

Lil Wayne has made no comment at press time.

Tim Dog Dead At Age Of 46

New York City rapper Timothy “Tim Dog” Blair has died at the age of 46 following a seizure and a long battle with diabetes.

The rapper was a key player in the East Coast/West Coast rap feud of the early 1990s, going after Dr. Dre and N.W.A. with his Bronx anthem “Fuck Compton.”

The sound touched off a number of responses from Dre, Snoop Dogg and other West Coast legends, and was a pivotal record in the rap beef that dominated hip-hop in the 90s.

The Bronx native Tim Dog was most recently in the public eye on NBC’s Dateline, after an incident wherein he conned a woman out of $32,000 in an online dating scam.

Emmett Till’s Cousin Speaks On “Karate Chop,” Says Lil Wayne Has “No Pride & No Dignity” As A Black Man

SOURCE: HIPHOP-DX: The family of Emmett Till responds to Lil Wayne’s “Karate Chop” lyric, express their concern for the youth.

Following the release of Future’s “Karate Chop (Remix),”  which features Lil Wayne, the family of the late Emmett Till was quick to express their distaste with the song after hearing a particular lyric from Lil Wayne. On the song, the Young Money artist shockingly states that he “Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till.”

While speaking with Dr. Boyce Watkins, Airickca Gordon-Taylor, the founding director of the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation and cousin of Emmett Till, spoke on behalf of the family of Till. She referred to Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till lyric as being both “dishonorable” and “offensive.”

“To compare his murder and how beaten and how bullied, beatened, and tortured he was to the anatomy of a woman was really very disrespectful,” said Taylor in a video posted on RapRadar.com. “We found it dishonorable to his name and what his death has meant to us as a people and as a culture. It was offensive not only to us, but to our ancestors and to women and to themselves as young, black men. I just couldn’t understand how you could compare the gateway of life to the brutality and punishment of death. And I feel as though they have no pride and no dignity as black men.”

Taylor then went on to state that not only is the Till family concerned with Till’s image, they’re also concerned with the young people who happen to be immersed in Lil Wayne’s music.

“Our family was very offended, very hurt,” Taylor revealed. “Disturbed by it…Our young people they emulate what they see, what they hear, and what they’re immersed in. And then we question them as they grow up and become citizens and they’re supposed to be productive in society and they’re not productive. And society is already criminalizing our young, black men at every opportunity they have. So it just really concerns us that here you are using Emmett Till’s name in such an egregious way and you’re not having any respect for yourselves as well as our family. And that’s the biggest concern. We’re concerned about our young people as well as the image of Emmett Till.”

In 1955, Emmett Till was murdered at the age of 14 after allegedly flirting with a white woman in Mississippi.

JIM

SOURCE:(AllHipHop News) Rapper/reality show star Jim Jones was arrested outside His home in New Jersey, and charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation with a police officer.

According to reports, the incident started when a police officer responded to a complaint of a snowbound car, illegally parked in front of the rap star’s house in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

Jim Jones decided to confront the officer over the car, and when the rappers name was run through a database, it was found that he was wanted for two outstanding warrants.

One warrant was for a motor vehicle violation, and the other one, ironically, was for failing to remove snow from his sidewalk.

The rapper allegedly became belligerent and disorderly, when the officer asked him to come to headquarters to settle the outstanding warrants.

“If [people with outstanding warrants] agree, we’ll just have them come down and pay what they owe,” Bastinck said, “but if they don’t agree, they’re placed under arrest,” Lt. Derek Bastinck told Patch.

Waka Flocka Flame Downplays Issues With Wiz Khalifa, Says It Was “Fake Beef”

waka-wiz

Waka Flocka Flame says that he never had real issues with Wiz Khalifa.

After Waka Flocka Flame and Wiz Khalifa engaged in beef because the former made jokes about the latter’s weed-smoking habits, Flocka has explained that they had no real issues to begin with.

During an interview with Shade 45’s Superstar Jay, Flockaveli said that their past problems were small in the grand scheme of things and that he’s focused on dealing with more serious manners.

“You know what it is? It’s 2013. I’m like fuck it, you know what I mean? All fake beef and real beef, I’ma spread ’em apart. That’s fake beef,” he said. “I got real shit going on right now. Real shit I gotta focus on right now. No shit you put in metaphors, no shit you put in bars, nigga. None of that. I’ma cut every throat right now. I don’t want no nigga to block no door, but the one he standing in.

“I looked this nigga like, this nigga ain’t do nothing remotely dangerously to me,” he continued. “When it could have been something, it was nothing. It was dead. That’s why I never pressed it later on in the year.”

The beef originated back in December 2011 when Waka said that Khalifa was all hype. In April of last year, he said that the issue was “deaded” and that it stemmed from comments he made about weed.

Oakland Rapper Saafir Wheelchair Bound & Addicted To Molly?

saafir

Bay Area rapper Saafir affirmed his place in the Hip-Hop elite back in the 1990s after taking on Oakland-based rap crew the Hieroglyphics in a freestyle battle. Now, the Saucee Nomad is currently bound to a wheelchair after suffering severe spinal damage exacerbated by his addiction to the drug ecstasy, allegedly.

Media veteran Davey D published a blog posting from Shock G of Digital Underground, who explains in a timeline how Saafir went from a muscle bound rap titan to his current frail state between the years of 1992 to the present. The blog made its rounds on the Internets, depicting the physical fall of one of rap’s brightest and most ferocious lyricists.

Excerpts of Shock G’s email below:

1992: Survived TWA plane crash at JFK scheduled for Frisco. Engine blew during take-off, skidded-out sidewayz off the runway, came to a stop, and after a few seconds, burst into flames.

Saafir was the first one off, but he jumped before the slide fully inflated and wound up jolting his lower back as his feet hit the ground beneath the thin material.

1994 to 1999: He popped hella ecstasy without drinking the required water to protect the spine from dehydration.

Shock G then explained that an alternative health practitioner temporarily healed Saafir of his back pain while traveling as part of the Up In Smoke Tour in 2000. After touring for six years, his back pain returned and the rapper had a spinal operation in 2007. Shock G then details how Saafir has resorted to peddling his pain meds because of a lack of revenue in the music business.

Now said to be living in squalor and feasting on nothing but takeout meals, Saafir is paralyzed from the hip down. A failed operation attempt in Arizona dampened the “Battle Drill” rapper’s spirits and Shock G’s email didn’t offer anything resembling a happy ending.

Get well soon, Saafir.

Lil Wayne Heated At Ejection From Miami Heat Game; Witness Says Rapper Made “Gun Gesture” To Fan

20121206-175016

SOURCE:(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (February  10), the Miami Heat defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 107-97 and Lebron James became the third player in NBA history to have 5 consecutive games scoring over 30 points on 60% field goal shooting.

Lil Wayne attended the game but did not get to witness the historic feat as he was ejected by security at the American Airlines arena.

So I’m @ da Heat game right, rootin 4 da Lakers kuz dats my team & would u believe they got police 2 make me leave?! Wow! F#€k da Heat

The Heat’s spokeswoman stated, via email to USA Today, that Mr. Carter left on his own.

While the New Orleans wordsmith asserts his vocal allegiance with the Heat’s opponent as the cause for his ejection, an eyewitness sitting near Lil Wayne suggests guns were the central reason.

Miami DJ Irie’s Social Media Manager , Danny Vega tweeted during the game that Lil Wayne gestured he had a gun to an antagonizing fan:

Señor Danny Vega @sdVEGA

Random guy yelled at Lil Wayne at  game. Weezy looked back, gave him a mean stare & gestured he had a gun. LOL what a douche

This incident is the latest saga in an ongoing riff between the Young Money President and the Miami Heat, specifically the team’s two biggest stars.

Weezy vented to Rolling Stone in January of 2011 his frustrations over Dwayne Wade and Lebron James not acknowledging him at games. “We sit by them b*tch a*s n*ggas,” said Wayne. “At least come and ask why I’m not rooting for you.”

Five months after that Lil Wayne celebrated with the Heats 2011 Finals opponents, Dallas Mavericks at Miami’s Club Liv.

Drake Settles Lawsuit With Woman From “Marvin’s Room”

1-Drake_Kyra-Practice

Drake puts an end to his legal battle with a woman who says her voice was illegally used on “Marvin’s Room.”

Last year, Drake found himself in the legal crosshairsafter a woman named Ericka Lee sued the rapper for failing to compensate her for co-writing and lending her vocals to “Marvin’s Room.”

According to TMZ, Drizzy has settled the suit with Lee, who also claimed that they had a relationship between 2010 and ’11. She said that he threatened her when she didn’t budge on her lawsuit and denied her allegations. Now, the case was dismissed on February 2nd, and it is unclear if the settlement was financial.

Lee, whose stage name is Syren Lyric Muse, initially filed suit in July 2011 and received a counter-suit from Cash Money/Universal Records six weeks later. She said she was offered a $50,000 payment in conjunction with four-to-five percent of royalties prior to filing suit.

Drake’s camp responded shortly after, issuing a statement that dismissed her allegations. “This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song ‘Marvin’s Room’ prior to its release. Lee asked only for the credit she received as ‘Syren Lyric Muse,’ and she did not ask for any compensation,” said the rep. “It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court.”

In February 2012, the rapper said that he never said he would pay her and that “she consented to the use of her voice in the song ‘Marvin’s Room’ for no compensation.” He also said that they did not have a romantic relationship.

Drake, who recently won Best Rap Album for Take Care at the 2013 Grammy Awards, is prepping the release of his third studio album Nothing Was the Same.

EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Dre Sues Yamaha For Ripping Off Headphone Design

129171779LL006_Jimmy_Iovine

SOURCE:(AllHipHop News) Music mogul Dr. Dre is suing electronics giant Yamaha, over headphones the company is manufacturing, which Dr. Dre claims infringes upon his Beats Electronics patents.

Lawyers for Beats Electronics filed the lawsuit against Yamaha Corporation of America last week, in US District Court, Central District of California.

The lawsuit claims that Yamaha is marketing a line of “PRO” headphones that copy the design of Dr. Dre’s world-famous Beats line of headphones.

“Consumers appreciated the design, as well as the sound quality, of Beats and began wearing the Beats headphones around their necks as a fashion accessory even when not listening to music,” the lawsuit reads. “In fact the design of the Beats headphones has been a significant driver of the commercial success of the products.”

According to Dr. Dre, a side-by-side comparison of Yamaha’s “PRO” is so similar, that it will confuse consumers.

To make matters worse, Yamaha is running ads that trade-off of Dr. Dre’s name and the Beats name as well.

In November 2012, Dr. Dre’s lawyers fired off a warning to Yamaha’s counsel, informing them of their infringement.

But, Yamaha continues to market the knock off line of headphones.

Dr. Dre is suing for at least $75,000 in damages, claiming Trade Dress Infringement, Unfair Competition and Patent Infringement.

Check out a copy of the lawsuit below:
