Kanye West Drops Over $35K On 5 Cartier Bracelets For Kim Kardashian [PHOTOS]

Kanye West is enamored with all things Kim Kardashian and gifted his “baby mama” with five Cartier bracelets.

Kardashian posted photos of the new arm jewelry online today under the caption: “The Don strikes again!!! #SoLucky!!!”

Mr. West splurged on thousands upon thousands of dollars in bracelets including the Juste Un Clou gold bangle which goes for $34,650. He also laced her with three gold and diamond cuffs from the Panthère collection, and the Love Bracelet.

The couple jetted to the City of Lights for Paris Fashion Week, and look to still be going strong less than a year into their relationship.

With a baby on the way, Kimye had to upgrade their digs, dropping a cool $11 million on a mansion in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. Boasting 10,000 square feet (which seem like a lot for three people, but who knows), the mansion mirrors that of an Italian-style villa, and sits comfortably inside a gated community.

Even though he doesn’t talk about it much, life with the reality star at his side might be just what the doctor ordered. “I think her and Ye, they really make each other happy,” said Big Sean. “I never seen him so happy man. I can’t even remember the last time I seen him so happy.”

It ain’t trickin’ if you go it.

Tech N9ne Discusses Sandy Hook Shootings, Says “It All Starts At Home”

Tech_N9ne-Sandy_Hook-hhdx

Tech N9ne weighs in on the recent shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

This past December, tragedy struck when 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people – 20 of whom were children – at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Now, in a recent interview with The Boombox, underground veteran Tech N9ne weighs in on the killings.

Tech believes that the biggest issue behind this tragedy is the absent parenting that allowed Lanza to gain access to deadly assault weapons. He also said that he feels that many commentators are relying on the topic of mental health to rationalize the tragedy, but ultimately, “it all starts at home.”

“Discipline starts at home. If your mom has guns like that in the basement, what the fuck is your mom doing? Is she with the militia?” he said. “You know those are [Adam Lanza’s] mom’s guns right? I’ve got three [children]. I’ve got two 18-year-olds and I have a 13-year-old. When they were growing up I had them listening to Tech N9ne. I let them listen to Eminem. I talked to them about they problems at school, people, everything. Now, these kids being neglected. Why would Adam Lanza even know how to work these guns if his mom was paying attention?”

He added, “People want to use the psychotic card, or whatever, but I’m telling you it all starts at home. If there was respect at home, it will carry over. Where was Adam Lanza’s momma?…Guns don’t kill people. You know the saying – stupid people with guns kill people.”

Kanye West’s Ex Says Kim Kardashian “Fits His Brand,” Believes Baby Is Because Of Jay-Z

Screen-Shot-2013-01-20-at-7.50.32-PM

The ex-files have been opened, and Brooke Crittendon is stepping out to tell her  story.

Crittendon dated Kanye West from 2004-2006 and in an interview with UK newspaper The Sun, she expressed no surprise that her former beau ended up with Kim Kardashian, and believes that Jay-Z has something to do with why she’s pregnant.

Having heard him bring Kardashian up in the past, Crittendon alleged that West wants the reality star because she’s desired by so many men. “There’s Halle Berry, J-Lo and Beyoncé but they are all taken. She [Kardashian] fits into his brand,” the 31-year-old said.

Together for two-and-a-half years, Crittendon is an aspiring actress, and said that Yeezy always had a fetish for curvy women with brunette hair. She also believes that he watched the dirty tape that launched Kardashian’s career. “I know he has had a thing with her for a while. I’m sure he watched her tape. After we broke up, we caught up as friends and he mentioned her, I knew something was there.”

In regards to the forthcoming bundle of joy, Crittendon thinks the child will fulfill both of their needs. “She wanted kids and it’s his legacy.”

Apparently, Yeezy’s big brother relationship with Jay-Z, and the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, was even more motivation to get Kardashian pregnant. “He admired Jay-Z and they are very close,” Crittendon added. “Over the years Jay has been a role model to him. Whether it is starting to be more mature, taking chances with clothes or getting married and starting a family, ultimately he takes those cues from Jay.”

West and Crittendon broke up due to his reported infidelity.  Yet during their time together, the 33-year-old  was “insecure,” and refused to perform until he knew his girl was on the side of the stage.

After the split, West hooked up with Alexis Phifer with whom he became engaged in 2008. Once their union was done, he started dating Amber Rose for two years. Rose is now engaged to, and pregnant by, Wiz Khalifa. Their baby is due in just over a month.

Chief Keef’s Deal With Interscope Records Revealed To Be Worth $6 Million

chief-keef

Chief Keef signed a three-album deal with Interscope Records worth $6 million.

After fielding a bidding war back in 2012 and inevitablysigning with Interscope Records, Chief Keef dropped his debut album Finally Rich last month.

But the terms of the deal have remained undisclosed until now. DNAInfo.com has revealed that the three-album contract that Keef signed with Interscope could be worth more than $6 million. The contract was made public in a court filing that seeks a judge’s approval to finalize agreements. The court’s approval is required by law because Keef, who is 17 years old, is a minor.

Interscope agreed to pay Keef a $440,000 advance, giving half up front and half after a judge confirms the deal. The advance will be deposited into a court-administed “blocked” trust fund on his behalf that is controlled by his grandmother. Keef also received a $300,000 deal to cover the cost of recordingFinally Rich. His deals depend on album sales, as Interscope has the right to pull out of the contract if he doesn’t sell 250,000 copies of the LP by December 2013.

He also signed a separate deal to control his own label, Glory Boyz Entertainment, and received another $440,000 advance. Both Keef and his manager Rovan Manuel each receive $180,000 and own 40 percent of the label. Interscope must also pay GBE $200,000 for “overhead expenses,” and will split profits equally with the imprint.

Upon release in December, Finally Rich bowed at No. 27 with 50,000 copies sold. Keef is currently serving a 60-day sentence for violating probation.

Russell Simmons says that he and his brother Rev Run didn’t steal anything from Rasheed Young.

Earlier this week, fans were shocked to learn that Russell Simmons’ former business partner Rasheed Young has accused Simmons and his brother Rev Run of stealing millions of dollars from their footwear venture Pastry shoes. Now, in a recent interview with TMZ, the Def Jam co-founder responds to the allegations.

Simmons refuted any of the claims that he or his brother stole Young’s shares in their company. Simmons added that Young is a disgruntled former employee, and revealed that he personally had to step into to prevent Young from losing his job on multiple occasions.

“[Young]’s a nice enough guy, he worked for me,” Simmons said. “I fought to keep his job a numbers of time, he didn’t have a job and I went back to our partners and kept him working. I’m sorry he’s disgruntled, but that’s what happens. Anybody can say anything in this day and time and if a celebrity’s name is attached to it, people like to sometimes believe dirt, and so it spreads…the story, it’s not true.”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West’s former flame is speaking about his new relationship with Kim Kardashian, who is pregnant with the Chicago rapper’s first child.

Kanye’s ex-girlfriend Brooke Crittendon sat down and discussed the rapper with The Sun, one of the UK’s biggest newspapers.

The pair was involved in a relationship for two years, just as Kanye West began his rise to the top of the entertainment world.

Crittendon said that the rapper is not the “egomaniac” the media has made him out to be.

“He was insecure as he couldn’t be with me every day. I got the impression he was worried he wasn’t good enough for me,” Brooke Crittendon told The Sun. “He needs people to tell him he is good and that he is needed and wanted.”

According to Brooke Crittendon, Kanye is attempting to be like Jay-Z, whom she labeled his mentor.

“Whether it is starting to be more mature, taking chances with clothes or getting married and starting a family, ultimately he takes those cues from Jay,” Crittendon claimed in the interview.

Crittendon said that the relationship ended because ultimately, Kanye West could not be faithful.

“He was a good boyfriend in f**ked up circumstances,” Crittendon said. “It ended because there were a lot of arguments and a lot of fights. It became really nasty.”

Lupe Fiasco Removed From Inaugural Performance After Anit-Obama Rant

Supafest 2012

(AllHipHop News) Last night (January 20), Lupe Fiasco was removed from the stage at Sunday’s StartUp RockOn concert at the Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C., as part of the weekend’s inaugural festivities.

In an anti-Obama performance, Lupe Fiasco performed his 2011 track “Words I Never Said,” in what has been described was a 30 min rant.

Taking his stance on the United States and Israeli conflict, and stating that Glenn Back and Rush Limbaugh were racists, Lupe ripped President Obama for what he viewed as a lack of support for the Gaza strip and other issues close to his heart.

“And these the same people supposedly telling us the truth/ Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn beck is a racist, Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say sh–/ That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either/ I’m part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful,” Lupe rapped.

While many have speculated that Lupe was kicked off the stage for his political beliefs, in a statement released by HyperVocal, the event’s organizers say they were dissatisfied with his overall performance and that it was time for the next act.

“This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act,” HyperVocal said in a statement to the press.

Lupe is well-known to be outspoken with his political beliefs, as Lupe has been quoted in the past stating that he refuses to pledge allegiance to the United States flag due to his belief that it goes against the Muslim faith.

In the past Lupe Fiasco has even gone as far as to call President Barack Obama a terrorist and refused to vote in last November’s elections.

Ludacris Signs Headphone Deal With Quarterback Tim Tebow

Ludacris enlists New York Jets QB Tim Tebow for a deal with his headphone company Soul Electronics.

Even though pro quarterback Tim Tebow didn’t have a particularly awe-inspiring season on the New York Jets’ bench, that isn’t keeping the football star from expanding his brand. Now, in a recent article from Mashable, it appears that Ludacris has enlisted Tebow to design a line of headphones for his company Soul Electronics.

Earlier this week, Luda and Tebow unveiled Tebow’s new line of Soul Electronics headphones at 2013 International CES conference. According to the product description, Tebow’s line of headphones will feature two models – one a more sport friendly version called the Combat+, and the other made for more casual listeners called the Jet.

“I was so interested in having something comfortable I could practice on the field in before games,” said Tebow. “So many headphones can feel good and sound great, but when you’re warming up, they fall off and that is a big distraction. We came up with these Combat models to help you keep that focus. People who try them out will hopefully believe in them. We have headphones for athletes who want to train and some for those who want to fly or even sleep. They are even great for moms who are doing the dishes and listening to their country or gospel music. Whoever you are, whatever you are doing, we have something that fits you.”

Tebow will also serve as Soul Electronics’ new brand ambassador. Images of the headphones can be seen below.

50 Cent Beats Copyright Claim Against “Before I Self Destruct” Album And Movie

2-50 Cent

Famed rapper 50 Cent has beat a copyright infringement case that claimed he took pieces of a New Jersey man’s story and made it his own. According to the Wall Street Journal, a man named Shadrach Winstead, who wrote about growing up on the streets of Newark, claimed that 50 Cent stole his story for his CD and accompanying movie Before I Self Destruct.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his label moved to dismiss the complaint, stating the copyright infringement claim failed because Winstead’s book and Jackson’s album and film are not substantially similar.

Winstead accused 50 Cent of taking passages, themes and story-lines from his bookThe Preachers Son- But the Streets Turned Me into a Gangster.

In contention were the phrases “get the dope, cut this dope,” “let’s keep it popping,” and “the strong takes from the weak, but the smart takes from everybody.” found in Winstead’s book.

According to the court, it was merely irony that they were similar to the 50 Cent song which included the lyrics, “get the dope, cut the dope, get the dope,” “let’s get it popping,” “the strong sit down, but the weak work for me.”

“They are either common in general or common with respect to hip hop culture, and do not enjoy copyright protection. The average person reading or listening to these phrases in the context of an overall story or song would not regard them as unique and protectable,” said the appeal panel in a statement.

The court also shot down the idea that 50 Cent stole the plot from Winstead.

Despite the fact that 50 Cent won the lawsuit, Winstead’s lawyer is still in opposition to the verdict.

“What I find controversial is the Third Circuit’s adoption of Judge [Stanley] Chesler’s conclusion that there is one rule of law applicable to inner-city phrases and street language, and a different rule for language and phrases used by white people in the suburbs,” Winstead’s lawyer said.
