Beanie Sigel Recalls Saving Kanye West From A Robbery

Beanie Sigel recalls the time he rescued Kanye West from a potential chain jacking.

Even though they may be at odds now, Kanye West andBeanie Sigel have a history that goes as far back as the self-titled opener from Beans’ debut The Truth. Now, in an interview with DJ Vlad, Sigel reminisces about the time that he had Kanye’s back in a very tight situation.

Beans recalled saving Kanye West from a possible Roc-a-Fella chain jacking one time in a diner. He says that a couple of strangers had sat down with ‘Ye and his friends while they were eating and began to menace the crew. Kanye put out a call to Beans, who came to the diner and muscled the potential robbers away from the producer.

“He felt threatened,” he recalled. “[I let the potential robbers knows] nothing was going to go down – not while I was there. Nothing was going to happen to him…[Kanye] wasn’t being paranoid; they had chairs pulled up to his table where he was eating at with his friends, and they wasn’t eating…it was real. They’re plates of food was cold; they ate only a couple of bites, and it was just like a wait off, like, ‘Hurry up, and would you come out here?’ It was going down. So I got there and I asked Kanye, ‘Yo, do you know this guy right here?’ He was like, ‘Nah,’ and I just pulled the charm from [under] him, and Kanye had his jewelry tucked in on him, and I was like, ‘Take your chain out’ – that was like a badge, that Roc-a-Fella chain…[the jackers reacted to me] as they should [and took] a little more than a few steps [back].”

Gucci Mane Says He Will “Never” Reconcile With Young Jeezy, Has “No Respect” For Him

Gucci Mane Says He Will "Never" Reconcile With Young Jeezy, Has "No Respect" For Him

Gucci Mane also explains why OJ Da Juiceman has been relatively quiet.

Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy famously sparred some years back, but according to Gooch, their issues will “never” be resolved. During an interview with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club, the trap rapper weighed in on the fight between the Snowman and Rick Ross at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, stating that he “don’t care” about what happened to Jeezy during the scuffle and that he has no respect for him.

“Ross is a friend of mine, of course Jeezy is not. I don’t care about nothing that happened to him,” he said. “Ain’t nobody finna do nothing to Gucci period. Never. And that didn’t happen. I ain’t let nobody push me, mush me.”

Asked if he would ever reconcile with Jeezy, Gucci responded, “Never. It’s respect, walk over here and there gon’ be some problems. I ain’t got no respect for him. I just did what I have to do.”

He also explained why OJ Da Juiceman slowed down on releasing new music. He rationalized that OJ came into the game with money, which made him less incentivized to record music.

“OJ was unfortunately… He already had money gfrom diong what he doing and he kept money. He was so spoiled that he got everything that a rapper want when he came in the game, so he don’t have the drive a starving artist would have,” he said. “Juicy is so turned up that he wasn’t as passionate about music as he is about the money. If there’s some money, you’ve got his 100 percent attention. But if you talk about going to the studio everyday, Juice ain’t doing it.”

Jay-Z Returns To Visit Former Stash Spot In Brooklyn

Jay-Z Returns To Visit Former Stash Spot In Brooklyn

Jay-Z spoke with one lucky fan currently residing the apartment where he once stashed his drugs.

On his Billboard-chart topping single “Empire State of Mind,” the legendary Jay-Z raps about his former drug stash spot in Brooklyn at 560 State Street. While the area’s changed immensely since you could catch Hova “in the kitchen like a Simmons whippin’ Pastry,” one lucky fan got the chance to reminisce with the New York emcee at his old crib.

In a recent blog from Fuse, writer Amit Whele explained how a freak request to use his menorah led to Jay returning to his former abode, where Whele currently lives. He said that a friend of his brother’s who happened to be producing Jay’s eight night performance series at the Barclays Center asked to borrow a menorah so that Jay could commemorate the opening backstage.

This odd request eventually led to the producers of Ron Howard’s upcoming Made in Americadocumentary to ask if Hov could swing by his old spot to reminisce on his hustling days.

“[Jay] went on to say that 560 State was where he first started gaining real momentum in Hip Hop,” writes Whele. “It’s where he realized that he needed to cut out all the other shit in his life (read: selling drugs) and focus on his passion. Once he applied himself, and dedicated all his energy into the music (rather than the street), things started moving quickly. He remembered that in those early days, rap was a real family affair. He employed his friends to fill all the needed spots in his developing empire: If you were talented at drawing, then you were in charge of artwork. Good with logistics? Now you’re booking shows.”

Gunplay Officially Turns Himself Over To Authorities

Following rumors that he turned himself in to police, Gunplay is officially behind bars.

Yesterday, rumors swirled that Gunplay had turned himself over for an oustanding warrant on armed robbery and assault.

Earlier today, the Maybach Music Group rapper officially checked in to Miami-Dade Police in connection with armed robbery and not assault, as previously reported.

The robbery occurred several months ago at a tax preparation office in northwest Miami-Dade. A video shows Gunplay holding the firearm.

It is unclear how long he will remain behind bars, but he is expected to stay in jail as bond is not offered in armed robbery cases.

Waka Flocka Votes For First Time, Now That He’s A Tax Paying Citizen

Image

Waka Flocka Flame has cast his vote for the 2012 Presidential Elections and the Atlanta rapper has revealed he has cast his vote for President Barack Obama.

Waka Flocka of is one of tens-of-thousands of people who are taking advantage of early voting in over 30 states.

The majority of the early votes are done through mail, while in person voting is slated to start next week, in a number of states.

“I’ve been voted early,” Waka Flocka revealed on The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show with K. Foxx, on Hot 97. “It’s my first time voting. I’m a taxpayer now, so you know you got to vote for the right guy. They say every vote counts, I had to make sure mines did.”

Although none of the early votes will be counted until after the November 6 election date, that didn’t deter Waka Flocka from making sure he took advantage of his constitutional right to vote.

Waka, who said he has been a homeowner for over five years, has been paying taxes that stretched into the six-figures, since his rap career took off, although he had not voted until this year.

The rapper offered up a very logical explanation for not participating, as well as his change of heart, to take part in this year’s election.

“Not trying to be hard, not trying to be tough, but if you’re from the streets, how can voting hope your life?” Waka Flocka asked. “How can tax dollars help your life?…taxes, medical, insurances, you don’t need none of that. But when you start living like a civilized person, you got to follow the rules.”

Shyne Explains His Problems With Rick Ross & Diddy, Addresses His Voice Change

Image

Shyne goes on a rant about why he has beef with Rick Ross and Diddy.

Shyne called in to Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show to go on a rant about Rick Ross and Diddy, as well as to address his voice change. To start out the interview, Po blasted Rick Ross for his new mixtape The Black Bar Mitzvah, stating that he has a problem with his Corrections Officer past and that Diddy told him that Ross took his whole style.

“Yo listen blood, homebody is a straight cornball, and I been saying that for a minute now. And one thing about Shyne Po, Shyne Po is consistent,” he said. “I always speak my mind. I just find it curious that when Shyne Po do his Judaism thing and I’m on my Israelite thing, dudes was taking shots and poking fun at that and now, fat boy is coming out with Black Bar Mitzvah. I have a lot of issues with him, but my most important issue is that to me, old boy is like Donnie Brasco. Dudes always say, he makes good music. It’s not about that. It’s about the integrity. Like blood, I have no problems with correctional officers. […] But if any of them CO’s would try to act like they was thugs or gangstas, I had no love for them because that’s not what they do. They civilians. So imagine Donnie Brasco, Sammy the Bull, coming out with an album talking about how gangster they are after they did what they did. My thing is, if you a cop, try to stay a cop.

Black Bar Mitzvah was just basically another example of his pathetic behavior. He sound like me, Diddy told me that he took my whole style,” he added.

He also addressed his reconciliation with Diddy and then his recent diss track towards the Bad Boy mogul. He states that he tried to mend fences with his former boss and wanted to do something to benefit minority youth, but that Puff never followed through and ended up being a “creep.”

“He’s the ultimate creep, so creeps stick together. That’s why those two [Ross and Diddy] roll hard, because he’s the ultimate creep. Listen, I’m a gentleman. I try to have honor with everything that I do. So it’s not about Shyne being mad and Shyne hating. Proof of that is that I gave this creep the opportunity to redeem himself and correct the mistake that he knows that he made, that he’s expressed to me over and over again. But he’s a creep. He pretends to be sorry. Maybe he even wants to be sorry. But he’s so much of a creep, he just can’t find that part of himself. Like when he say God is great, I think he’s talking about himself. He thinks he’s God. He has no accountability,” he said. “It wasn’t no make up. It was an opportunity, like I said. I reformed, I rehabilitated myself. Because if I was the old Shyne, a lot of these dudes wouldn’t be alive right now. My arm is long, I could touch them from Europe. But I’m retired, so I see things different. For me, when he reached out ot me and apologized, it was like, what can we do for young African-Americans and young Latin-Americans? How can we inspire them? How can I teach them something from the terrible example that I set for them by being a gang-banger, by being a gansgers? What can I do to fix that? […] I was looking for the opportunity to reconcile with old boy and do something with the babies.

“He didn’t keep his word for that. He not about that. He’s not about helping nobody but him. It’s about nobody but him,” he said.

Finally, Po capped his rant by addressing his voice change, admitting that it sounded “terrible” when he first came out of prison but that being incarcerated was the cause of that.

“I admit that when I first came out of prison, my voice sounded terrible. I admit. This is another thing I’m trying to bring across. This is what happens when you go to prison for 10 years. This is real life, this is how it really goes. This is not one year and six months. And by the way, T.I. still ain’t had a hit then. The jail thing is a serious thing. So imagine 10 years,” he said. “So for 10 years, the way I’m talking to you now, I would never talk like this in prison. Right, because there’s rats all over. There’s people reading your lips all over. The point of prison is to get out of prison. So there’s a lot of things I had to do in prison that I won’t speak about and I’m not proud of, but I did that in a very humble and quiet way where nobody would know and I would never get in trouble because I would always contain myself.”

“When I went to the studio, I didn’t even realize I lost my voice. I sound dead. If you listen to thatGangland album right now, I don’t care how you feel. You feel Shyne Po.”

Tyga Opines On G.O.O.D. Music Vs. YMCMB & Drake Vs. Chris Brown

Image

Tyga gives his take on his camp’s beef with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, as well as the spat between Drake and Chris Brown.

Hip Hop has often been likened to a competitive sport, primarily because of its roots in battling.

However, Young Money’s Tyga doesn’t see it that way. “I don’t really don’t be paying attention to everybody else’s stuff,” said the rapper in an interview with Complex. “Like I said, if it doesn’t appeal to me, if it doesn’t appeal to my lifestyle, I don’t really care to look at it. It just doesn’t matter to me.”

Naturally, the conversation led to Young Money vs. G.O.O.D. Music, with Lil Wayne and Drake having their issues with the latter’s Pusha T. “That shit is stupid,” said Tyga bluntly. “That’s just what people want to see. It’s entertainment. They can say whatever they want to say because they want to see these things happen. It’s like boxing. People are egging on Mayweather and Pacquiao. ‘I don’t care how them niggas feel. I want to see them fight.'”

“That’s the same thing with music,” he continued. “That’s how the fans feel. Everybody wants to start beef with people. You could be sitting right next to the nigga, having a conversation, and if they feel like they want to pull something, they’ll say that you got beef with him.”

Tyga expressed a similar sentiment regarding the Chris Brown and Drake beef. “I think it’s wack. I don’t think it creates anything positive. Don’t worry about the little shit. Everybody’s rich. Why do you gotta worry about it? I can only speak as a fan and a friend. I can’t really say much about that.”

EXCLUSIVE: Lawsuit Against Sean “Diddy” Combs Over Empress Perfume Dismissed

Image

A lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Comb over the use of the name Empress has officially been dismissed.

Empress Haircare Products filed a lawsuit against Diddy and his Sean John Clothing Company in January 2012.

The original lawsuit claimed that representatives for Sean John approached Empress Haircare Products, in an attempt to clear a trademark for the Empress Line of perfume Diddy hoped to market.

But Empress Haircare Products refused to grant Sean John the rights to use the name Empress and according to the original lawsuit, Diddy and company went ahead and used the name anyway, even though a trademark for the name already on file.

On October 3, Empress Haircare Products’ lawsuit against Sean John Clothing Company was dismissed with prejudice.

A lawsuit dismissed with prejudice, is usually not allowed to be retried, which could allow Sean John to use the Empress without interference.

Calls to lawyers on both sides for a more detailed explanation were not returned as of press time.

Image

T.I. saves Christian rocker Scott Stapp’s life.

T.I. might just lay claim to the title of Hip Hop’s first superhero.

Not only has Tip talked down a man from jumping to his death, but Creed’s Scott Stapp says the rapper saved his life.

The Christian rocker explained in an interview on VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live” that he had checked into a penthouse of Miami’s Delano Hotel in the midst of a drug binge. Eventually, Stapp jumped over his balcony, falling 40 feet, fracturing his skull and breaking his hip and nose.

“I laid out there for two and a half hours and my guardian angel showed up — rapper T.I.,” said Stapp. “He immediately took care of the situation and saved my life.”

Stapp explained his history with the rapper. “I had met T.I. back in 2004, we were both writing songs for The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired By soundtrack and we had briefly interacted there and knew what each looked like,” he recalled.

“We’d talked about being fans of Alabama… It’s ironic — he walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I’m laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.’s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on. I said, ‘roll tide,’ and then he looked at me and put two and two together and really saved my life.”
