Additional Footage Released Of Gunplay & G-Unit Brawl

UPDATE: Gunplay got into it with G-Unit backstage at the BET Hip-Hop awards.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards was certainly eventful, as news has emerged that even more conflict took place during the ceremonies.

As previously reported, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross’ camps got into an altercation which was followed by gun shots. However, that wasn’t the only extracurricular activity going on. Maybach Music Group’s Gunplay had a fight with G-Unit affiliates backstage.

Apparently the event occurred during the Chris Lighty tribute, which featured 50 Cent and Fat Joe sharing the stage.

Footage uploaded to WorldStarHipHop of the event is below. Apparently, the man pepper sprayed was Gunplay:

Gunplay Says He’ll Never Reconcile With 50 Cent

Gunplay also says that he’s unsure if 50 Cent threw a punch during their fight.

During last weekend’s BET Hip-Hop Awards taping,Gunplay and 50 Cent’s G-Unit got into it, with the Maybach Music Group rapper going head-to-head with Fif’s crew. To set the record straight, Gunplay called Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg and K. Foxx to discuss the incident, stating that he wasn’t sure if Fiddy threw a punch during the melee.

“I saw the little guy with a bunch of big guys and no words were said. Once I saw him and he saw me, we knew what it was. I laced my boots up and got to it, that’s it,” he said. “I don’t know, he’s so small I didn’t see him do nothing. He’s a little guy. He’s like 3’2. Everybody was over him, so I couldn’t really see him. It’s nothing. I’ve been through it before, and now I’m ready to hit y’all with this music.”

He insisted that he would never reconcile with 50 and says that once he has beef with someone, it’s forever. “Ah nah, I don’t shake hands. Never, never, never. I never shook hands with anybody. I got beef with kids in elementary school and if I see ’em now, I’ma jump ’em,” he explained. “[Rick Ross] was laughing, like, ‘Looking good out there little bro.'”

G-Unit Affiliate Mike Knox Says Gunplay “Got Dealt With” In Brawl, Denies 50 Cent’s Involvement

Image

G-Unit affiliate Mike Knox says Gunplay “got dealt with” and “treated like a dope fiend” during their BET Hip Hop Awards brawl.

After the BET Hip Hop Awards, Gunplay spoke on his own feud with G-Unit members, referring to them as“donkeys.” He also said that if anyone “plays” with him, they “might get gunned down.” Now, G-Unit affiliate Mike Knox has gone on the radio to speak on his involvement in the altercation, saying that Gunplay “got treated like a dope fiend.”

Knox first addressed a video that was released, showing him being hit by Gunplay.

“When people are fighting, they usually pepper spray the person that’s being the most aggressive or the biggest person. I was the biggest person. So, he wasn’t pepper sprayed at the time. They pepper sprayed all of us. Everybody tried to run from it. I slipped. Anybody knows if they’ve ever been pepper sprayed before, you can’t see anything, you can’t really talk. You try to get yourself together because you’re caught off guard. I caught a real big batch of it. So, when the video starts, I’m already on the ground and you can see the pepper spray in the air.  Then he jumps up and runs over and starts to hit me in the back,” Knox said in his interview with Hot 107. “If that’s what he felt he needed to do to redeem himself and make himself like he did something, that’s cool. But he got treated like a dope fiend.”

Knox went on to explain that Gunplay was beaten in the brawl.

“The only thing I can tell you is he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he was acting a certain kinda way that he shouldn’t have been actin’ and he got dealt with as if he was gave a package, a bundle, in the hood and he messed it up or he didn’t pay his credit for the dope that he be using. So, he got dealt with,” he noted. “He got his ass kicked.”

Knox went on by saying that Gunplay “was runnin’ from an asswhoopin'” during the Rick Ross/Young Jeezy confrontation but that he “ran into an asswhoopin'” in this brawl.

Knox also added that 50 Cent was not involved in the altercation and that he was there for a more meaningful reason.

“People always try to make it look like [50 Cent] is attached to something negative. That’s not his thing. He wasn’t there for that. They fail to realize that this is a very touchy situation. Chris Lighty was his manager for many years,” he said. “You’ve never seen 50 put no beefs aside. So for him to put all that to the side, to do that for Chris and communicate with [Fat Joe], you should know we wasn’t there for [a fight].”

Wale Says The Rick Ross & Young Jeezy Fight Was “Unfortunate,” Denies Involvement In Brawl

Image

Wale says he wasn’t near the Young Jeezy/Rick Ross fight but adds that it was “unfortunate, to say the least.” He also says he had no indication of a feud between MMG and CTE camps.

The feud between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy recently developed into an altercation at the BET Hip Hop Awards. There, both camps were involved in an incident that allegedly included gunshots and arrests. While Waledidn’t seem to be involved, he was recently asked to speak about the confrontation by Bootleg Kev due to his alliance with Ross’ Maybach Music Group.

Wale explained that he attended the red carpet for the award show but that he had to leave to perform elsewhere so he was not present for the brawl.

“I heard about it,” he explained. “I didn’t know what was true. Everything was happening so fast, I didn’t know what was going on… I wasn’t nowhere near the whole situation…I really can’t call and say what happened or what should have happened. It’s unfortunate, to say the least.”

He also shared that he had no real indication that a feud existed between the camps.

“That ain’t something that we sit around and talk about, our relationships with other artists,” he said. “We never really talk about nobody but ourselves amongst ourselves. So nobody really knew how deep anything was or how deep nothing is. So, I’m assuming this is something that was just blown out of proportion, for the most part.”

Image

T.I. weighs in on the fights that took place at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.

During this past weekend’s 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards taping, Rick Ross beefed with Young Jeezy and Gunplay tussled with G-Unit. While he wasn’t involved in either brawl, T.I. spoke to Los Angeles, California’s “KTLA Morning News” to discuss the incidents, stating that while he was not aware of the fights, most are caused by “pride and ego.”

“I didn’t even know about the fight,” he said. “Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride. I don’t know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it’s about pride and ego. I can’t speak for every case. I don’t know much about this case.”

EXCLUSIVE: CTE Rapper 2Eleven Speaks on Fight with Game; Says Game “Sucker Punched” Him

Image

Corporate Thugz Entertainment rapper 2Eleven says that Game snuck in a dirty shot at Lil Wayne’s birthday bash.

While it was hardly the marquee fight event that took place the evening of the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, it appears that rapper Game got into a scuffle of his own with CTE emcee 2Eleven at Lil Wayne’s 30th birthday party. Now, in an exclusive interview with AllHipHop, 2Eleven explains what actually went down between him and the Compton emcee.

Despite TMZ’s earlier report that it was 2Eleven who initiated the scuffle, the Inglewood, CA rapper tells the story differently. He says that Game snuck in a sucker punch on him from behind while he was trying to find his friend in the club.

“So I had seen one of my homies, I went to catch him. I walk out the section right, I take five steps outside the section and [Game] comes and hits me from the back of my head,” he recalled. “I turn around and I could see the security like on the way, so I tried to get one off on him. There wasn’t no fight, no words. From what I heard and what I heard on the Internet it’s like I ran up to him and had some words. But man there wasn’t no words. Why would I run up to a nigga that 6’5” with two armed bodyguards with him, talking some shit, with me and my young homie. I’m not even that kind of dude my nigga I sit back and play the cut, I’m on these bitches. Plus we at Wayne’s private party, like c’mon man, you just on some nigga shit.”

The bad blood between 2Eleven and Game reportedly stems from an incident between Game and late 2Eleven associate RoseMo700, who assaulted the Interscope emcee while shopping with his son.

BET’s Stephen Hill Denies Reports Of Gunshots At BET Hip Hop Awards Show

Image

BET’s Stephen Hill weighs in on the fights that occurred during the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards and says no gunshots were fired.

The numerous scuffles that took place at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards are still making headlines in the world of Hip Hop, and it looks like the controversy surrounding the show isn’t about to dissipate anytime soon. Now, in an interview with Complex, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials Stephen Hill clarifies what actually went down behind the scenes.

Hill explained that much of the news about Young Jeezy and Rick Ross’ backstage brawl had been blown out of proportion by media outlets. He said that while Rozay and Jeezy’s crews did get into a minor scuffle, neither artist was directly involved. Furthermore, he added that there were absolutely no gunshots fired; that was simply a rumor that spun out of control due to Twitter.

“I think there’s a lot of misinformation that went out. For the Twitter Generation, 140 characters for some people just equals truth – no matter who it’s from, no matter where those people are – whatever you read on Twitter is true,” he said. “There was absolutely an altercation behind the stage, it involved the crews of Ross and Jeezy. Ross and Jeezy passed each other in the hall. There was some shoving – it never turned into a fight. They realized it’s an awards show. They realized we spend a lot of money to make hip-hop look good on TV. Maybe some members of the crew weren’t thinking that way. It was a dust-up, and it was over like that.”

He added, “You heard about gunshots in the parking lot because somebody heard somebody say something, and they carelessly tweeted. Now they may have heard pyro, but no one has said there was gunshots in the parking lot. Police would’ve closed this down a completely different way had there been gunshots. If there’s gunshots, your show’s not going on. Everything comes to a halt. Nothing came to a halt. Again, reckless tweeting.”

Legal Battle Breaks Out Over Ludacris’ Label Name Disturbing Tha Peace

Image

A legal battle has ensued between Ludacris and a Dallas coupple named Demitri Brown and Donna Evans-Brown who claim the rapper is infringing on their trademark for the phrase “Disturb The Peace.”

Demetri Brown and Donna Evans-Brown filed the lawsuit against Ludacris, his mother Roberta Shields and Disturbing Tha Peace Entertainment, on October 1, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas.

According to the Browns, they have been using the name “Disturb The Peace” in commerce since 1988, in the field of audio/video and musical entertainment products.

The lawsuit claims that in March 2011, the plaintiff discovered that Ludacris had illegally filed a trademark registration of the infringing name “Disturbing Tha Peace.”

The Brown’s claim Ludacris fraudulently claimed that they had abandoned the “Disturb The Peace” mark in order to obtain his “Disturbing Tha Peace” trademark.

“Defendants have and continue to knowingly use the name, Disturbing Tha Peace in commerce with actual knowledge that it infringes on Plaintiff’s trademark Disturb The Peace,” the Brown’s complaint states.

The Browns are seeking an injunction, in addition to a cease-and-desist order barring the use of Disturbing Tha Peace in commerce in Texas.

Fat Joe Speaks On Ending Beef With 50 Cent

Image

Fat Joe and 50 Cent squashed their beef at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

50 Cent and Fat Joe infamously beefed for years, but they publicly buried the hatchet during a tribute to Chris Lighty at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Speaking with Hot 107.9’s Q Deezy, the Terror Squad leader explained that Lighty had tried to mend fences between the rappers several times, but it took his passing to finally bring them together.

“The same guy who discovered [50] discovered me, Chris Lighty, and Chris Lighty, I owe him everything because I used to hustle big time in the Bronx, and out of 50 of us, I’m the only one who got away because I got legit,” he said. “Everybody else got like 75 years in jail, God bless ‘em. So he literally saved my life. I never could believe I could be a rapper; he talked me into rapping. So he wanted us to make peace forever, but we were just being stubborn and ignoring him.”

Joey Crack said that he knew 50 would be part of the tribute, and when he arrived, Fif whispered a few “gentleman-like” things in his ear and they shook hands, thus ending the beef.

“I came to do the tribute. I knew 50 Cent would be there, but I came with like, we gon’ do this for Chris. And while we was there, 50 whispered some things in my ear that was gentleman-like. I’m a gentleman. I don’t dislike people. I’m one of the most loveable dudes in Hip Hop, believe it or not. So you know, he just said the right things and a handshake [was] involved and that was that. It’s just two grown men that just said yo, this is for Chris Lighty, this is for Hip Hop. Let’s move on with our lives.”
