Machine Gun Kelly Says His Style & Skin Color Hindered His Career

Image

Machine Gun Kelly explains why he feels that his sense of style and skin color have hindered his career.

The October 9 release date for Machine Gun Kelly’sdebut LP Lace Up is fast approaching, and fans are gearing up for the Cleveland emcee’s new music. Now, in a recent interview with DJ Semtex, MGK speaks on his position in the game and how he feels he’s managed his career.

MGK admitted that one of the main reasons he feels under appreciated as a lyricist is due to his skin color and off-kilter sense of style. He said that on top of that, he knows that some of his antics have ostracized him from the majority of the commercial Hip Hop community despite his talent. Regardless, however, he says he’s happy with the way he’s managed his career thus far and has been maturing as an artist and businessman.

“I haven’t spoken on [skin] color in so long, but…I honestly feel like right now, my biggest hindrance in why you don’t hear things like, ‘MGK is lyrically hot’…[is] the white thing, mixed with the fact that I don’t dress like the normal Hip Hop person,” he said. “Right now, I just don’t feel like I fit in. I feel like I’m in the class, [but] I’m just the person in the corner. I definitely put myself in that corner by being so…strongly opinionated, like, ‘Oh, I don’t believe in press, I don’t want to do press’ – I definitely put myself in that corner sometimes, where I don’t blame people for not wanting to be friends with me.”

He continued, “I definitely have matured a lot, especially with the album coming out, it kind of gave me hope in life. I think I shunned a lot of people, but I also think that I kept what I had exclusive, meaning that I didn’t ho myself out. I’m proud of how I’ve done my career, but I’m definitely going to change up a little bit.”

Image

United States Hip-Hop star 50 Cent is bankrolling a probe into the death of his high-powered manager, Chris Lighty, who allegedly committed suicide last month.

50 Cent and Chris Lighty’s family have hired attorney Scott E. Leemon of Leemon Law and private investigator Les Levine  to look into Chris Lighty’s death, which was ruled a suicide by the New York Medical Examiner.

The new investigation will focus on all of the circumstances surrounding Chris Lighty’s death, attorney Scott E. Leemon told AllHipHop.com in a statement.

“I will confirm that I have been asked by Chris’ mother and many of his former clients/business associates/friends (including 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes and Q-TIP) to fully investigate all of the circumstances surrounding his premature death,” Scott E. Leemon told AllHipHop.com.

According to an article by Lisa Evers of Fox 5 in New York, 50 Cent said that Chris Lighty’s mother came to him, asking for help because, she didn’t believe her son would take his own life.

50 Cent shared the same opinion and started the process of investigating Lighty’s alleged suicide.

Although initial reports stated that Chris Lighty could have been distraught over his financial situation, Fox 5 obtained a copy of the high-powered manager’s will, which left over $1.6 million in a trust fund for his children.

Lighty had also just secured a world tour for 50 Cent, which is expected to commence next year.

The will also left Chris Lighty’s entire estate, which is worth millions, to his wife, Veronica, who he was in the process of divorcing.

According to Dr. Michael Baden, who is conducting an independent autopsy, Chris Lighty definitely died of a gunshot wound, but he is investigating other circumstances surrounding Lighty’s death, which have not been revealed.

“His mother has asked me to help her determine if anyone or more people are legally responsible for Chris’ death,” Scott E. Leemon told AllHipHop.com. “And, if so, whether a wrongful death action should be filed against them. As such, the investigation will focus on those questions.”

Scott E. Leemon and Les Levine are currently seeking any parties who may have more information about Chris Lighty and the circumstances surrounding his death.

“The investigation is being lead by private investigator Les Levine and is in its’ extreme early stages. It is being initially funded by 50 Cent with the hope of others helping,” Scott E. Leemon added. “If anyone in the public has information about Chris’ death it may be emailed to: tips@leemonlaw.com.”

Rockie Fresh Explains Why He Signed With Rick Ross Over Diddy

Image

Rockie Fresh says he wanted to be part of a new movement.

Rockie Fresh recently signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group imprint, joining a roster that includes Wale,Meek MillStalley and more. During an interview with L.A. Leakers’ Justin Credible, he explained why he decided to go with Rawse over signing to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records shingle, stating that he’d rather be part of something new to help someone make history.

“The thing with me, believe it or not, I’m a super humble dude. And prior to getting these offers, I didn’t even expect to get signed by other rappers,” he said. “I came up in the Rock scene a little bit with Patrick Stump and Fall Out Boy. And so with that being the scene I was being geared towards, I thought that that’s where I was going to fall in line. And then when Ross and Diddy hit me up in the same week, and they were interested in taking meetings, it was one of those things where I was so blessed by it that I didn’t take it as a bidding war. I took it as an honor.”

Rockie said that Diddy has reached the top of the game and will forever hold a strong role in the industry. Taking that into consideration, he saw Ross’ movement as one with potential to reach Diddy status and made his decision based on that.

“And the thing with Ross is, it’s one of those things where Diddy, he’s number one dude on Forbes right now, he’s got a label going on forever. It’s one of those things where he’ll always be a force in the industry, and also, Maybach is his little brother. So it’s one of those things where I just wanted to be part of a new movement and really be a part of making history in the long run and making sure that Rick Ross gets to that same level that Diddy gets to.”

EXCLUSIVE: Kanye’s Lawyer Says Sex Tape “Stolen”; Demands Take Down of Images

Image

A law firm representing rapper Kanye West has issued a takedown notice, surrounding controversial images stemming from a sex tape being shopped to various media outlets, from an anonymous source.

A lawyer for Kanye West issued the demand today (September 23), claiming the sex tape in question was “stolen” from Kanye’s computer.

“Be advised that the Screen Shot, as well as the Tape from which the Screen Shot was taken, were illegally obtained and believed to have been stolen from Mr. West’s computer,” Kanye’s lawyer Lisa M. Buckley of Pryor Cashman said in a legal document sent to AllHipHop.com.

“Your posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and otherwise disseminating the stolen Screen Shot and/or other materials on the Tape constitute actionable violations of Mr. West’s rights of privacy and publicity,” Buckley said.

Buckley warned a variety of media outlets against posting the images from the Kanye sex tape, or there could be serious legal percussions.

“We hereby demand that you: (1) immediately cease and desist from posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and disseminating the illegally obtained Screen Shot of Mr. West,” the notice reads.

Kanye West’s lawyer is also seeking information on who is shopping the tape to various media outlets, since the tape is in high demand.

Sex.com has already offered $1 million to the anonymous person.

Vivid Video’s honcho Steve Hirsch , who released Kim Kardashian’s original sex tape with Ray J., said that Kanye’s could be the most valuable sex tape ever sold on the market.

“It depends on the quality of the tape, the length, the lighting, the sex,” Hirsch said. “But something like this could go for a couple of million dollars. I don’t think there has ever been a sex tape with a star of this magnitude. Tommy Lee was big, but this is a different world and Kanye is a special guy. He’s everywhere.”
