According to Variety Nas is going to b executive producing and upcoming indie film that stars the one and only Erykah Badu. The film will be called “The Land” and Nas will also be in charge of the production of the soundtrack which is pretty awesome. “[I’m a] huge fan of my man Steve Caple Jr, I think he can become the next great filmmaker. [I’m] also, very excited to be working with my former agent and friend Charles King on his first film with his new venture. All great energy around the film, which I believe will yield amazing results.” Nas said talking about the films director. The actual film is about four teenagers who live in Cleveland but they get into drugs right in the middle of becoming pro skateboarders. Machine Gun Kelly is also starring in the film and it will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival next month so keep a look out for reviews.

Wale has always been emotional when it comes to not getting the credit he feels he deserves and with the new Grammy Nominations not featuring him at all he took to twitter to rant. The rant consisted of Wale replying to fans with ultra sarcastic comments about how he does not actually deserve any awards. But things took a turn when Wale responded to a fan who said he should tour with Kendrick and Wale said that Kendrick does not pick up his phone when he calls. This made fellow T.D.E. member Jay Rock unhappy and he responded to it simply with “@wale I SEE WHY U NOT MMG. SMH.” And then added “Tired of all u suckas wit dot name n y’all mouths. Watched all yall do full interviews talkn bout another man? Aint what real ones do.” Hopefully Wale can chill out and not get on any more rappers bad side.

As everyone knows by now Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had their second child the other day and now they finally have picked a name. Their sons name is Saint West and he was born at 8 pounds and 1 ounce. The name is not as crazy as people were speculating it to be which is a good thing and who knows could be really cool rap name if he follows in his fathers footsteps someday.

Jeremih has been on the scene for quite a while now after his hit single “Birthday Sex” hit the airwaves. Ever since 50 Cent did his song “Down On Me” with Jeremih they have remained good friends and thats why 50 spoke up about his situation on his Instagram. 50’s argument is that Def Jam pushed Jeremih’s album back multiple times and then when they finally let him drop it they charge $18 for it which is way more then the average album these days. “What Def Jam has done to Jeremih is so foul, they have dropped the ball in so many ways. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have welcomed their second child into the world. Both baby and Kim are healthy and she made the announcement to the world via her own website posting “Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well.” There is still no name as of yet but people have been speculating all over social media and it is sure to be something good.

It has come to light that Nicki Minaj was actually the one who posted her brothers $100,000 bail after his arrest for allegedly raping a 12 year old. Reports also said that if the bail had been $500,000 Nicki was prepared to give a letter of credit to a bank account with up to $2 million. There is no info on when Nicki’s brother Jelani Maraj will appear in court but he has some serious charges that he will have to answer for eventually so keep it locked for updates.

Sadly Kid Cudi does not believe he makes hip-hop music anymore. Cudi took to twitter recently saying that his latest album “Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven” was not labeled corrently in iTunes where they put it under the hip-hop genre. Cudi tweeted that it is not hip-hop but it is Alternative and he wanted it fixed. But it makes sense because the songs on this latest project really aren’t hip-hop/rap sounding like his previous projects which some fans are not really feeling.

Offset of the rap trio Migos has finally been released from prison after being in there since April when the group was arrested in possession of firearms and drugs. After four attempts to make bail it finally happened today after Offsets defense made the case that there just wasn’t enough sufficient evidence to put him in connection with a riot that broke out in the prison. Offset will be serving 5 years of probation though as part of his plea deal from the firearm and drug charges. It looks like the Migos can get back to full speed making tons of music for the fans.

Nicki Minaj’s brother named Jelani Maraj has been arrested on horrible charges of first degree rape and first degree course of sexual conduct with a 12 year old. Jelani is 37 years old and had just got married in August of this year. Nicki Minaj was in great terms with her brother so this must come as a huge shock to her she even talks about him in one of her songs. Jelani was released on bail the same day he was arrested for $100,000 but keep it locked for updates on this situation that is far from over.

T.I. has done a handful of acting gigs and at just 35 Years old he seems to want to get into more serious roles. Variety is reporting that A&E is going to be rebooting “Roots” which was a TV miniseries back in 1977 which was actually based on the novel by Alex Haley. T.I. has joined the cast and the cast is made up of some big time acting talents like Forest Whitaker, Mehki Phifer, Laurence Fishburne, and more. T.I. is going to play a headstrong slave who fights for his freedom in the Union army named Cyrus. This seems really interesting but we’ll have to wait and see if T.I. has got the acting chops to pull off this character.

Hip-Hop has been on a roll lately showing that it is the most popular genre on the largest streaming service, Spotify. Now it has come out thanks to Musixmatch that hip hop actually has the highest vocabulary out of all of the most popular music genres. The othere genres were Pop, Electronic, Indie Rock, Country, Heavy Metal, Rock, and Folk. The vocabulary size of hip hop is 1,963 words with a whole 478 words used each song and 94 new words each. The second genre is heavy metal with 1,533 words. This is a pretty cool stat to have in the books for this ever growing unique genre in music.

While on the Breakfast Club radio show Rick Ross got to explain himself when it came to his diss track “Color Money”. The interview kicks off on this subject and says “that record is what it is” instead of coming out and saying he was dissing Drake or anyone else. But Ross does say that Lil Wayne is his homie confirming the track is not about him but instead is about Birdman. “I don’t have a relationship with Birdman” Ross says and adds later “Right now, really me just seeing what Wayne going through as an artist, me idolizing Birdman at a time, me looking up to Lil Wayne, Wayne being the first artist making to make so many feats not just as an artist but an artist coming through the South, that’s something I took personal. For me to see the way things are transpiring, I can’t respect that, and I don’t respect that.” So who knows what will happen from here on but make sure to keep it right here for any updates.

Yesterday it was reported that Bobby Shmurda’s family came up with the $2 million bond even though family had to put up their own property for it. This was not enough though because the judge actually denied it. Bobby Shmurda will continue to be locked up until there is another proposal from the legal team behind him. During a concert Rich Homie Quan got heated when a male fan of his tried to touch him and he started saying some pretty reckless things on the mic. Quan was calling the fan that touched him gay and added that he looked like Young Thug. Young Thug took that as Quan calling him gay which is pretty much what he did say so Thug tweeted “Homie yo lil career almost OV!!!” but a little later Thug tweeted that Quan didn’t mean what he said and he has a pass. Slip ups like that are not a good look though on Rich Homie Quans part and could ruin his already sketchy relationship with Young Thug.

Joey Bada$$ has been all over the world performing for his fans this year since he dropped his debut album early in the year. Joey took to his Facebook page to announced that he has cancelled many December tour dates in New Jersey and Europe with the reason being exhaustion. At just 20 years old though he is missing a lot of great opportunities it is better for him keep healthy and kick off 2016 better then ever.
