It’s no secret that Chief Keef has yet, another child. Owen Phillips, Chief Keef’s spokesman, put out new information detailing the name of Keef’s son:
“Alki David has announced that Chief Keef and his newest baby mama have agreed to name the newborn Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart in order to promote the release of Sosa’s double album Bang 3 with FilmOn Music and MondoTunes on September 18,”
According to various sources, Drake and Serena Williams had a recent hook up. Common was asked about the matter do to the fact that he and Serena are friends: “Serena is a friend of mine, as long as she happy I’m good. We dated, that’s done, that’s been done a long time ago, so it’s now like we friends. As long as she happy, I’m good.”
BillBoard had a poll sent out to the top 50 music industry execs earlier in the year and results from the poll are now here. When asked “What genre of music do you despise the most?” Rap came in number one followed by EDM and Pop. Later on in the pole they actually ask how long they give Tidal with a whopping 71% of the execs saying they give the new streaming service one year or less. At the top of the execs list were Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga which is pretty funny because both of those artist do pop music. You can check out the poll right here.
The Game always seems to be in some legal trouble and he is now being sued by an rap artist by the name of Ariza Obey claiming that he stole the artwork for his new single “Ryda”. The artwork shows a topless woman and man holding onto each other wearing masks. This photo is exactly the same as the one Ariza posted to his instagram account way back in January. Amber Rose and Blac Chyna are known to be really good friends so it isn’t that big of a surprise and TMZ now reports that they are getting their own show. MTV is giving Amber Rose and Blac Chyna a reality tv show and is to be about the women having to manage their careers and taking care of their children which should be very interesting especially since they say the show will not be “ratchet” which is hard to believe when you’re talking about these two characters.
Chief Keef had his first child at just 16 years old and had to pay child support right away and since then he has been in three other child support cases. Today he adds another woman to the list who is saying that he is the father of her child. TMZ is reporting that he even posted a pic of the two month old baby on his own instagram account with the caption “The White Sosa” but quickly deleted it and has his lawyer saying now that the womans claims are not true. This coming Sunday is the VMA’s and Kanye West is said to be the one recieveing the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year. Though Ye is not confirmed to be a performer at the awards he will be at the event. This award was awarded to Beyonce last year and Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson in past events so this award is for the biggest and best. Make sure you tune into the awards on Sunday at 9 PM.
A website based in Philadelphia called ogeewoogee.com is creating an annual scholarship called “Be Alright for the students at High Tech High School in New Jersey. This contest will be giving the students an opportunity to recieve a $1500 college scholarship that goes towards both tuition and books. To enter for a chance to win the students have to send in a 3 minute video that explains the postitive parts of hip-hop and showing off one of their own talents. This all was inspired by Kendrick Lamars hit song off of his latest album called “Alright”.
“Hotline Bling” is a pretty new song released by Drake when he put his first diss track for Meek Mill and it seems the song has been a favorite for many of his fans going from number 57 to 34 on the hot 100 which is pretty impressive. Drake is now said to be sending this single to radio stations which will get it played all over the world and it’s popularity will only grow from there. The track should be on radios by September 1st and this can only mean more music from Drake as we come closer to an official release of his upcoming album “Views From The Six” in the coming months.
The confederate flag has been seen as a very negative and racist thing to many people and many want the flag removed from states government buildings that still fly them. YelaWolf has come forward taking to social media showing his support for the confederate flag because he believes that the flag has more meaning then what people usually tie it too. On facebook there was a post of a man wearing a shirt which had a confederate flag burning and YelaWolf was not having it. As previously reported Dr. Dre has apologized to all the women he had harmed in his past and the lead woman who wanted that, Dee Barnes, has responded to it. In a new letter to Barnes had this to say “I hope he meant it. I hope he represents these words in his life. I hope that after all these years, he really is a changed man. Dr. Dre has matured, and the women he’s hurt, including myself, have endured. I’m proud to be able to say goodbye to the man who at one point was straight outta fucks to give, as he consistently dismissed and disrespected any mention of his assault history. Goodbye to the man who didn’t deny it and even bragged, “I just did it, you know. Ain’t nothing you can do now by talking about it. Besides, it ain’t no big thing–I just threw her through a door.“ Then Barnes wonders if it was all just for PR saying Is this is a PR move by Universal, which released Straight Outta Compton? After all, the film just crossed the $100 million mark its second weekend in theaters. Is it damage control by Apple, which can no longer ignore that if you take the “Beats by Dre” logo and remove the “S,” you get a double entendre describing several woman he just apologized to? Is Dre himself really remorseful or just saving face? To me, the answers to these questions matter less than the fact that Dre stepped up and performed his social responsibility by finally taking accountability for his actions. Who cares why he apologized? The point is that he did. She ends the letter saying this This is bigger than me, and bigger than hip-hop. This is about respect and awareness. As a result of speaking on my personal experience with violence, I have been vilified. Women survivors of violence are expected neither to be seen nor heard, and the pressure increases when it involves celebrities. No one wants to see their heroes criticized. And if they are African American, the community at large becomes suspicious of an underlying motive to tear down a successful black man. Excusing pop culture icons from scrutiny over their history of violence against women because they are elevated to “hero” status is wrong on so many levels. Creating notable, brilliant art does not absolve you of your faults. In the past, great art was enough to exalt men of their bad behavior, but in 2015 it’s no longer the case. Survivors have a right and an obligation to speak up (#NoSilenceOnDomesticViolence). We are too loud, too correct, too numerous to be ignored. Hopefully she got the closure she needed and everyone can move on from this bad situation that happened so many years ago.
Drake was spotted with his ex, Serena Williams, out having dinner in a Cincinnati restaurant and the two were seen making out. TMZ reports that the two huge stars went to the restaurant after Williams won her WTA tournament on Sunday night. If you think back a bit you’ll remember that Serena was the reason Common decided to beef with Drake a few years back so we’ll see if any new beef arises from this but after seeing what Drizzy did to Meek it’s highly unlikely.
Starting on September 18 Mac Miller will be back on the scene with the release of his brand new album GO:OD AM and will taking to the road on a tour nationwide this fall so all the fans can get excited. Mac Miller has only been improving his craft and this album could very well be another classic to come out this year. The tour will have other artist like Domo Genesis, Goldlink, Tory Lanez, Alexander Spit, Earth Gang, and Michael Christmas so there will know doubt be something for everyone. Azealia Banks has taken to twitter to rant once again and this time it is about black media and how she feels they have damaged her image. Banks says that black media like BET and HOT 97 let the male artist in the game “fuck up, rape people, murder people, have sex with underage people”, but still manage to support them but she feels that she is not supported because she chooses to speak her mind and the media makes it all negative. Who knows how damaged her brand truly is but blaming others is not helping it and going on rants over twitter and calling people out just keeps adding to the negative view most people already have of her.
Wiz Khalifa was actually arrested yesterday afternoon while at LAX because he refused to get off of his hoverboard. There is footage out that shows Wiz arguing with the police and ending up getting slammed on the ground by a few cops while they yell “stop resisting”. Wiz was freed pretty soon after but is not happy that this happened at all which he made clear via his twitter account posting “Haven’t been slammed and cuffed in a while.
