An after party that took place at Toronto’s Musik nightclub ended in an unexpected shooting in which two victims were killed and three others were injured. Police have not yet identified any suspects; however, they are said to believe that there are more victims at other locations. Drake was scheduled to make an appearance at the club but it is unknown if he was in the building when the shooting broke out.
The Las Vegas Museum, Madame Tussauds, imported a wax statue of Nicki Minaj in an outfit from her famous “Anaconda” video.
By the looks of Nicki’s comments, she was surprised to hear about Madame Tussauds’ newest addition. Nicki showed her shock and honor on Instagram: “YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WTF?!?!?!?!??!??, Had no idea they were really doing this. I would’ve went to Vegas for this.”
After being M.I.A. since has last Grammy winning album three years ago, there has been loads of talk about Frank Ocean soon releasing his newest album. Although Frank Ocean himself has yet to confirm this, Ocean’s publicist, Nabil Elderkin says:
“Everyone should be excited about this new album — that shit is fire. He’s making a great record. It blows the sophomore-album myth out of the water.”
It is well known that Meek Mill and Drake have been in a beef for a little while now with Drake sending diss records Meeks way back to back. Most everyone agrees that Drake put an end to Meek Mill before he even had time to respond with his own diss track and when he finally did many days later he was roasted for even trying. Drizzy Drake has no chill though so for his 6th annual OVO Fest he decided to wear his “Free Meek Mill” shirt to rehearsal which is an obvious jab at Meek and is pretty hilarious. It was just recently found out that Chris Browns baby mama is going to be looking for full custody of their daughter. As we all know the baby mama (Nia Guzman) has been trying to get a higher child support check for a while now but it seems that Chris is not willing to go that route. This lead the two parents taking their fight onto instagram and she is now asking for full custody of thier child and this lead to TMZ reporting that Chris is now filing an opposition to her custody request. Jeezy has decided to take action by taking part in Shanti Daz’s Backpack Back To School Drive and donated 1,000 backpacks all to elementary school kids. This all went down inside of the Walmart in Atlanta. Jeezy has just recently started his Street Dreamz Foundation back up and had recieved a Phoenix Award for his city for his help in charity. Jeezy keeps doing good things for his people which is always a great thing to see from people in his position.
A$AP Rocky has chimed in giving his opinion on the whole Drake v Meek Mill situation in hip-hop right now. Rocky said that he enjoyed watching the situation play out and feels as though Meek is the definite loser in the situation while speaking to MTV after his show at Lollapalooza. “Watching this was like watching the Super Bowl. I wanna say thank you to Drake and Meek Mill, because that’s good sportsmanship, I think Meek will be fine. I think he has a fan base of his own, and I think that at the end of the day, there had to be a loser in the outcome, and it was Meek. So it is what it is.”
When asked by Complex about the feud between Drake and Meek Mill, Q-tip turned their beef into a lesson about Hip-Hop: “This is not about Meek. It’s about the culture,” he said when asked about the back-and-fourth. “I want this to be something that spurs conversation and interest. I want people to be like, ‘How come you didn’t put this? How come he put too much of that?’ I want to see people talk about it. I want to see people engage in it. Like, ‘I didn’t even realize he said that!’ I want people to have that kind of conversation. While in Italy, Snoop Dogg was catching a flight while allegedly carrying $422,000 in cash at the Lamezia Terme airport. European law enforcement had to step in being that the legal limit for carrying cash across borders is around $11,000, in Europe. Half of Snoop’s cash was taken by law enforcement under anti-money laundering code.
Fines are pending, and Snoop Doggs money will soon be returned.
On August 1st, after being on the Lollapalooza stage for just a few short minutes, Travi$ Scott was immediately kicked off. According to Twitter, the rapper told fans to jump the barricade after he had reportedly cussed out security.
Apparently many of Travi$’ fans listened and went right up on stage with him.
After visiting Olive Garden in Wayne, NJ on June 30th, Fetty Wap allegedly left the restaurant without paying his bill. Fetty claims that he was waiting on his meal for about two hours and his food never arrived; therefore, he threw $100 on the table to cover the cost of his beverages and appetizers and dashed out. Employees of Olive Garden say otherwise. According to the employees Fetty Wap was waiting for 30 minutes and $100 was not enough to cover his $160 tab.
Charlamagne of Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club was hesitant of handing Meek Mill “Donkey Of The Day” but he has now officially given him the title. Charlamagne is a well known hater of Drake but after this weeks two diss tracks and Meeks underwhelming diss back he sided with Drake. “Meek Mill, this record you put out last night was garbage, bruh.” Charlamagne said without hesitation. Andre 3000 will be joining the cast of ABC’s “American Crime” for season two of the show. Andre is said to be playing the father of season twos main villain. Director John Ridley had this to say about working with 3000 “Personally, I couldn’t be more excited than to work again with Andre. He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and ‘All Is by My Side’ is one of the reasons I was given the reins on ‘American Crime.’ Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say ‘American Crime’ might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.” It will be interesting to see how Andre does with this role.
The highly anticipated response diss from Meek Mill has fallen short among the fans and this lead to Meek being roasted all night over social media by everyone. With Meeks response diss called “Wanna Know” everyone was dissapointed with responses like these all over twitter. “BRUH this dude said Meek Mill’s response is like when you try to do a Fatality in Mortal Kombat but you end up kicking them in the foot” plus a Toronto Politician, Norm Kelly, even chimed in saying “This is the reason people hire ghostwriters. #WeDidntWannaKnow”. There were even tweets from fast food chains “It’s ok, @MeekMill. Maybe beef isn’t your thing. #ChickenRings @Drake” White Castle tweeted out. Hopefully Meek can someday recover from this roasting but he will have to try very hard.
