Kid Cudi has decided to give all of his fans an update on his highly anticpated upcoming album “Speedin’ Bullet To Heaven”. Cudi took to twitter to tweet out that his upcoming album is 98% finished and will have a single out before the end of this month. While on Power 105 talking about his recently released album “Dreams Worth More Than Money”, Meek Mill gave listeners some insight on the kind of music he likes. Meek was blunt about not being a fan of both J. Cole and Kendrick Lamars music. “I don’t listen to J. Cole and I don’t listen to Kendrick, I think that they’re dope lyricists and they’re like great rappers, but they don’t inspire me. It don’t seem like they be talking to me. That ain’t no hate at all.” The only artist out right now that Meek feels inspired by is Future.
The mother of Chris Browns child, Nia Guzman, is trying to get child support out of him but Chris isn’t trying to let her take huge sums of money without a fight. TMZ is reporting that Brown has now filed legal documents that are necessary to establish his paternity. When that is officially established Chris will have the right to fight Nia over child support and custody. Nia is demanding Chris pays $15,000 a month while he is currently paying $2,500 a month and believes that the judge will side with him on the matter. Plus Nia has not been letting Chris visit his daughter and he will soon be able to get that figured out in court as well.
Apple Music has got a huge co-sign in Eminem and he has just debut a music video for his song “Phenomenal”. The music video plays out like a short film with Em making his way through Chinatown streets on a motorcycle and jumping from an exploding helicopter after hijacking it. The song is featured in Ems upcoming movie “Southpaw”.
While on the BET Awards red carpet Rae Sremmurd had said they would be dropping a brand new album later on this year. This young duo don’t seem to slow down and are always giving their fans fresh new content. The album will feature other artist like Wiz Khalifa and Migos. The album is said to be officially dropping in the month of December so it is a little bit of a wait for the fans but their music comes at a steady pace.
Rick Ross has spent a week in jail for pistol whipping and kidnapping his groundskeeper. Ross was released today after putting out the $2 million bail. A new competitor has joined the music streaming world. Apple highly anticipated music streaming service, Apple Music, has officially launched today. The service has a three month trail and is $10 a month after that trail period. You will be able to enjoy your entire iTunes library along with radio shows, Beats 1, and connect with artists through their new “Connect” social platform. With celebrities like Drake, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, and Jaden Smith. In order to use this new service you must update your iPhone to the latest iOS 8.4 that was just released.
The digital side to the music industry has been growing at an alarming rate ever since the introduction of iTunes back in 2003. The most successful digital artist of all-time just so happens to be Rihanna as reported by the Recording Industry Association of America. Rihanna was the first artist to sell over 100 million in digital sales. RIAA put out this statement “Gold & Platinum is the industry’s premier way to celebrate achievement in the marketplace. We’ve given awards to artists for nearly 60 years, but it’s rare that we have the opportunity to recognize a milestone like the one Rihanna has reached. Congratulations to Rihanna! She has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so. It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”
Tyga’s popularity seems to be dwindling with his latest album “The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty” only selling 2,200 copies in it’s opening week. Tyga was pushing for most people to listen to his album via Spotify but you would still expect better sales for someone who is in the news so much. Tyga has taken to twitter attempting to defend his numbers by saying “I put it out for free on spotify last tues. The whole purpose was to stream it. Kuz label problems. Got millions of streams”. Reviews for the album haven’t been very good so it makes sense.
Old School Bad Boy crew came together to perform at the BET Awards. The performance was 11 minutes long with a nostalgic roster. You had Diddy, Ma$e, 112, Faith Evans, French Montana, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch. Then Lil Kim ascended from below the stage to top it off. After a heavy dose of nostalgic tracks like “Peaches and Cream” and “All About the Benjamins” Diddy premiered a new song with Pharrell called “Finna Get Loose”.
So as we know Bobby Shmurda was arrested again for having a “Sharpened metal object” in prison and now we know how he got it. Shmurdas girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, who is an 18 year old female that is said to be his girlfriend had a black latex glove in her tucked into her bra wrapped in electrical tape and had passed it to shmurda. A guard noticed and cought the two in the act finding the object inside of the glove. Rousseau is now pleading guilty on charges of promoting prison contraband and the criminal possesion of a weapon and Bobby is getting the same charges but is pleading not guilty. Bobby is set to go to trail in October and this could definitely hurt his case.
Nicki Minaj’s ex Safaree Samuels was allegedly banned from the BET awards by Nicki. The two were together for 12 years and just recently split up and are known to have disputes over social media. But now Nicki has taken it to another level getting Safaree banned from the BET awards. Samuals tweeted this out “So Bet told my publicist im “Banned” from Bet Red carpet, hmmm wonder why.. dnt recall a situation occuring with them but hey #itiswhatitis” Then he continued by adding “Tell em bitches blow me lance stephenson … and to outsiders dont say anything about me quoting that… i wrote it!! have a goodday!” It seems like Nicki really didn’t like the last song Safaree put out about her.
TMZ is reporting DeJ Loaf got into it with two of her former managers during her sound check at the BET Awards. We have no idea who the managers are but Loaf is said to have let them go just last week and they still showed up to her rehearsal on Saturday. They may have been trying to get back on her good side but it didn’t work and things got physical with her brother, her and a new manager fighting with the former managers which sent one of the former managers to the ER for stitches. Dej Loaf has not talked about the situation yet but when she does check right her for updates.
Plies’ latest video shoot attracted a lot of heat thanks to the gun wielding. Police in Florida came to Plies video shoot after being told it was a hostage situation. A person called the cops after seeing Plies and anothter man pointing guns at another guy and was described as two black males holding a white man hostage. The guns were all unloaded but the cops still warned about having all of the weapons out in the open.
Bobby Shmurda has got himself arrested again but this time while already in prison. Shmurda was arrested on June 23 on 1st degree charges of “promoting prison contraband” because he had recieved a “sharpened metal instrument” on June 21. The new charges will not be apart of his already set October 5 trail date. Things are only getting worse for this young rap artist who was just starting to make a name for himself.
