A rumor is making the rounds now that Kylie Jenner is working on an album with help from boyfriend Tyga. Kylie trying to start up a singing career sounds very likely since she has been seen on snapchat showing off her vocal skills and going to a studio, and taking vocal lessons. Chances that Tyga is helping her since he has a lot of experience in the business makes a lot of sense. We will see if Kylie got what it takes for the business in time but if she is truly making “Tinashe-type music” then she might have a chance.

TMZ is reporting that west coast rapper, YG was shot 3 times outside of Studio City at 1.45 AM. The reports are that he was shot three times in the hip but was able to get himself into a friends car who drove him to the hospital. His condition is not known and he was no cooperating with police when they arrived at the hospital. At this time their are no suspects but we will keep you updated on the situation. Some one close to YG also tweeted out “YG is doing fine. Nothing life-threatening.” Hopefully YG makes a quick recovery.

Back in 2013 Eminem’s song “Rap God” set the record for most words in a song with a staggering 1560 words. Now someone has surpassed that record and his name is Harry Shotta. Harry is the man behind the new song “Animal” which is also a six minute song with very speedy delivery. The song has a total of 1771 words and is now the record holder for most words in a song. Complex got their hands on Soundscan stats for the brand new Troy Ave album and it was not a pretty sight. The album sold only 30 physical copies which could easily be people he knows. Most all of his sales are from digital but even in that space he only sold a total of 4,373 in a week. This album “Major Without A Deal” had features from 50 Cent, Jeezy, Fabolous, Ty Dolla $ign, T.I., A$AP Ferg, Cam’ron, Rick Ross, and more but that didn’t even peek peoples interest in the album.

A new ad campaign by Sprite called “Obey Your Verse” will feature rap quotes on the cans. Sprite was actually one of the first advertiser to welcome rappers in to reach out to urban communities. When most other companies would reach out to the more pop culture friendly rappers Sprite would reach out to the real hip-hop artist like Curtis Blow and Heavy D. Yesterday they had a press confress where they announced they would have classic and modern rap lyrics on their cans. You’ll find Rakims “Thinking of a master plan.” And Drakes “Started from the bottom”. This ad campaign will go on through the Summer. Check out some of the designs below.

 

Calling into HOT 97, Kanye West talked to on air host Nessa about some things. There is no audio at the point but the host tweeted out some interesting parts of the conversation. “I’m completely boring. All I do is go to the studio everyday. I’m ridin’ through the ‘burbs with no woes.” Kanye said. Another comment Kanye had was we can expect new music from his upcoming album “SWISH” on his daughter North West’s birthday on June 15^th to celebrate.

It is clear now that Iggy Azalea is taking a step back and is attempting to change her sound. Iggy has been cancelling shows and reworking everything. Last night Iggy answered fans questions and when asked to talk about new music she replied by saying she can’t really say anything about any new music “not really other than that i scraped an entire 6 months of work and startd totally new” Iggy said. Hopefully Iggy gets her music where she wants it and the fans appreciate it.

The off-duty cop that The Game punched has just filed a $12 million lawsuit against him. That is a huge amount of money compared to the $50,000 The Game posted for bail right after his arrest. The cop named Onyebuchi Awaji wants a huge pay out from the rapper. Court documents break it down like this

Pain and suffering: $1,000,000

Emotional distress: $1,000,000

Medical expenses (to date): $50,000

Medical expenses (future): $100,000

Punitive damages: $10 million

This lawsuit was actually filed way back in april but Game has yet to respond and is awaiting trail. So keep it locked right here for updates on this situation.

Tyrese and Rev Run have been worked together on a book called “Manology” and it was a New York Times bestseller. This knowledge they put into the book will now be directed into a show that the two will host on Oprahs OWN network. The show will center around relationship advice and will start with 8 episodes running in early 2016 and is yet to have a title. The president of OWN, Sheri Salata, had this to say “When Rev Run, Tyrese and CBS came to us with the idea of a primetime series we were energized by the chance to bring OWN viewers something fresh and entertainingly real in the ‘love space.’ We can’t wait to turn them loose—enlightening us all about what makes men tick.” Hopefully it all goes according to plan and Tyrese and Rev Run do good things for people in need of advice.

Just yesterday Meek Mill was filming the music video for the latest track off his upcoming album “Dreams Worth More Than Money”. A former member of Meeks Dreamchasers, Louie V Gutta made his way to the shoot with his posse trying to start trouble. Nicki Minaj’s Ex Safaree Samuaels, who she was with for 12 years prior to being with Meek Mill for the last few months, has finally put exactly how he feels into a song that is obviously about their past relationship. TMZ has obtained audio of a song called “Love The Most” which talks about Nicki calling her out for not wanting to have his child and how hurt he was when Nicki kissed Nas. “Had to watch you kiss Nas and pretend it’s all cool/Inside I was feeling like a mothafucking fool,” Safaree says and he also alludes to the fact that Nicki and Meek were already seeing each other before they had even split. Chance The Rapper is all about the positivity and spreading it among the people. Now Chance is going to be having a free festival for teens in Chicago. Taking to twitter to make the announcement Chance said “I’m organizing Chicago’s first T.I.P festival next Wed SO YOU KNOW ITS GON BE FREE RSVP” All people between the ages of 13-24 can register to attend festival. Rick Ross was arrested just this afternoon for possession of marijuana while in Georgia. Ross was stopped by the cops while he was driving his Bentley because of the tinted windows. When the door was opened the cops smelled marijuana. Rick Ross is being processed now in Fayette County Jail. He was arrested for the same thing back in 2014 so some people just never learn but keep it locked right here for updates on his situation.

Drake showed up to Apples WWDC 2015 event where they announce all their yearly updates to their products. Drake announced Apples new Apple Music streaming service which is set to launch on June 30^th and truly rival Spotify because Apple has a huge music library at their disposal and one of the biggest, most influential young artist by their side. Apple Music will be $9.99 a month and give you the ability to stream any of the music from iTunes along with music videos. TIDAL should be sweating right now because for $10 less then TIDAL a month you can have access to APPLES entire music catalog.

Lil Wayne has decided to partner with Kobalt Neighbouring Rights which is a company that makes sure and collects royalties for artists it reps. Artist like Kid Cudi, Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, Busta Rhymes, and Ariana Grande all are partnered with the company and now Lil Wayne has joined the ranks.
