To many hip-hop fans dismay Iggy Azalea one best rap song at the Billboard Awards for her song “Fancy”. As with everything else Iggy a lot of fans of Hip-Hop where not okay with her winning the award. There is now a petititon that has thousands of signatures already and it states that singles can only qualify for the award if they are released after March 10^th. “The eligibility time period for nominations is March 10th, 2014 through March 2015. “Fancy” was released on February 17th, 2014, nearly a month before the eligibility starting. This is unfair to the other nominees in these category, especially to “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj, who most likely would’ve won. Billboard did not follow their own guidelines and should have to recalculate these nominations without “Fancy” as a nominee.” Billboard has responded stating that the date range applies to a song’s success within the timeframe and not the release date so Iggy’s song is actually eligible.

A snippet from a leaked track, called “All American”, on Pusha T’s upcoming album “King Push” had leaked online recently. Pusha T spoke on it in a recent statement saying “My precious disciples u have been deceived. This leaked snippet “All American” has nothing to do with the masterpiece “King Push.” I’m only delivering “God Level” material to my beloved children. Only organic nourishment for my children, u all shall soon feast. Be patient, I know many of your idols have let u down, I will not! Be Blessed…” So basically Push is saying the snippet was just an extra and wont be on the final album.

Birdman is having to pay a ton of people these days and though he is still on forbes as one of the top earners in hip-hop his position on the list has dropped. Recently Birdman was hit with two different tax liens from the IRS over unpaid taxes at a total of $2 million. Birdman has already paid $1,942,400.58 from the first lien and will no doubt pay the rest of it. Birdman is worth over one hundred million so this really isn’t even a dent.

Popular Alanta photographer, Cam Kirk, who had done Gucci Mane’s Trap House 3 photography will be doing more for Gucci. In a recent interview with Mass Appeal Cam Kirk had much to say about the project. “It’s not going to be strictly about my photography. I’ve got actors in there; they’re going to play certain roles when you walk in. So it’s going to take shape of like a haunted house feeling, where you walk in and there are different things to experience. It should feel like you literally walked in to the house of the Trap God.”

A while back Nicki Minaj posted a picture of her hand with a huge ring on her ring finger which led folks to believe her and Meek Mill had got engaged. With no confirmation people just assumed but it turns out it isn’t the case. Meek Mill recently talked about his relationship with Nicki Minaj with Fader. “It’s definitely real, but it ain’t really time to get married yet. We’re still learning each other, feeling each other out.” This shouldn’t be that big of a surprise since the couple have only been dating for a short amount of time.

Long awaited sophomore album from A$AP Rocky just dropped. At.Long.Last.ASAP dropped at midnight just as a earlier tweet from Rocky himself stated. The physical copies of the album will be in stores tomorrow though. The album was orginallay slated for a June second release so this is a nice treat for fans on this Memorial Day weekend. The album has 18 tracks on the deluxe edition and has amazing features from the likes of Kanye West, Mos Def, Miguel, Schoolboy Q, Juicy J, Yam, and more. Get the album off itunes.

Back in June of 2014 Rihanna wanted to trademark her real name, Robyn, by applying with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. Now DC Comics is now trying to bar Rihannas application saying that it has way to many simularites to their comic book character which is Batman’s sidekick Robin. Rihanna would only be using the name for an online non-downloadable feature magazine but DC says that it would be too closely related and has given Rihanna 40 days to respond to their claims.

The drama never ends with Chris Brown as TMZ is reporting Browns baby’s mom is demanding more child support for their baby daughter, Royalty. It is said that Nia Guzman, the mom, has been recieving $2,500 a month from Brown but this has suppossedly stopped as of March. Now Nia wants $15,000 every month which Chris believes is ridiculous. During a show last night, which is part of Drake’s Jungle Tour, Drizzy announced that he would be having a contest between the audiences in Montreal, Detroit, and Chicago. “Whichever crowd is the craziest crowd out of those 4 crowds, I promise you, in the next year or two, I’mma bring OVO Fest to that city, “So Houston, Texas, if I’ve got some real Drake fans in the house, you’d better prove it to me tonight.” Check out the clip below.

Akon was at the United Nations Sustainable Energy For All Forum and announced he is launching the Akon Lighting Africa initiative. This initiative is aiming to provide over 600 million Africans electricity who currently are living without. “This professional training center of excellence is a first on the continent and targets future African entrepreneurs, engineers and technicians, It aims to reinforce expertise in every aspect of installing and maintaining solar-powered electric systems and micro-grids in particular, which are really taking off in rural Africa.” A press release said on Akons website. Part of the initiaative also opens up a solar academy in Mali which in turn creates jobs and teaches young Africans how to harness and sustain solar power. Check out Akons speech below.

Juicy J had a show at a venue called The Fillmore in the city of San Francisco but just before the show he was experiencing shortness of breath and was rushed to the hospital. Juicy J sent out an apology to all of his fans and asked them to pray for him. The tweets read “I wanna apologize to my fans in San Fran I had to rush to the hospital I’m having shortness of breath I love you all pray for me”. The doctor who treated Juicy J says that he hasn’t been getting enough rest. Juicy J will continue his tour when he is better and will make up for the missed show in San Francisco.

The next music video Kendrick Lamar is focusing on is for his track “Alright” off his latest album To Pimp A Butterfly. This time around Lamar is showing love to the Bay by shooting the video there filming at Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. Lil B is the rapper who puts curses on basketball players and is now going to be delivering a lecture at UCLA on Thursday which is pretty amazing. Now though you might think this is new for Lil B he actually delivered an 80-minute lecture back in 2012 at NYU where he talked about ethics in the workplace. There is an event flyer on instagram stating that this lecture is an extremely rare thing. The lecture will be on Thursday, May 28 and 8PM for students only.

Lil B spoke with TMZ this week and told them that if James Harden doesn’t credit him for the dance move he has been performing at his games “he will be cursed”. Here is exactly what Lil B told TMZ “If Harden doesn’t tell what he is doing, which is the Lil B cooking dance, he will be cursed. He needs to stop stealing Lil B swag without showing love.” The crazy thing about this is that the Houston Rockets are now behind Golden State by two games and Harden lost the ball and the game at the last second just last night. Lil b also put a curse on Kevin Durant a while back saying he would never win a title since Durant said he is a Whack rapper.

A few months back in March 50 Cent was taken to court by Lastonia Leviston. The reasoning was that 50 allegedly leaked a sextape of hers. Leviston is the mother of one of Rick Rosses children and 50 is saying that Rick Ross was the person who actually leaked the tape and is now suing Ross. Obtained by TMZ the lawsuit says that 50 claims that Ross or someone in his camp was the original leak of the sex tape and 50 just posted a link to it. 50 wants Ross to pay most of the money in the lawsuit if Leviston happens to win.
