Billboard has released a few quotes from the interview “It’s corny when rappers feel like they’ve made it and they don’t have to prove themselves anymore. You should always be competing. You should always be trying to show that you’re the best. My album is going to be important to hip-hop” Nicki says. Then she goes on to talk about being a female in a male dominated genre. “I’m on 15 to 25 conferences calls every few days strategizing with my team. I think a lot of artist sit back and have it done for them, sometimes as women in the industry – if you’re sexy or like doing sexy things – some people subconsciously negate your brain. They think you’re stupid.”

In an interview with ForbezDVD the Chicago producer known as Young Chop talked about the news that Chief Keef was dropped from Interscope Records. Young Chop question the record labels decision stating that Keef sold 200,000 units of his album, Finally Rich. “What’s so funny about it [is that] his album sold what the fuck its requirements were supposed to be, “So how did they drop him? He sold 200,000. He recouped. I don’t know what the fuck [is] going on over there. His singles did good. Every single he put out did good and topped charts.”

While speaking on the D.L. Hughley Show Snoop Dogg said that female rappers deserve credit for their sound. Then when asked what disappoints him most about the game today Snoop said “That a female emcee don’t get the respect that she deserves, it’s more about what she look like then what she sound like.”

So allegedly the track list of Kanye West’s upcoming album “Paris” leaked today  which of course had the internet freaking out with everyone thinking they got the new Kanye track list. But a rep for Kanye has come out and said “This is bogus.” With a track list that included the likes of Lana Del Rey, Migos, Big Sean, Pusha T, Common, Teyana Taylor, Jay Z, Beyonce and plenty more it is a shame that this track list isn’t real.

Back facing another gun charge is rapper Lil Durk who according to The Chicago Tribune, vowed to stay outta trouble way back in August, was arrested early today in southwest Chicago. Reports are that a woman let officers into the residence that Durk was staying at, and saw him standing near a kitchen island with weapons visible and arrested him knowing he was a felon. Police seized a Glock .45-caliber handgun with 11 rounds and a Springfield .45-caliber handgun with a mag and 13 live rounds. Things aren’t looking too good for Durk since he was already on probation at the time of this arrest.

The rapper Yung Berg who has lately been starring in “Love & Hip-Hop: LA” has been arrested in New York City today after he attacked his girlfriend with the specific charge being “obstruction of breathing.” As reported by TMZ Berg was at Gershwin Hotel with his girlfriend when they got into an argument which ended in Berg grabbing her neck and throwing her on the floor then dragging her by the neck and hitting her in the face. Police arrived and found the girlfriend with bruises on her body and Berg was taken into custody.

Jay Z has acquired champagne brand Armand de Brignac which is a luxury champagne brand. The New York Times is reporting that Jay-owned Sovereign Brands has acquired the brand of bubbly and added this statement. “We are proud to announce that Sovereign Brands, a New York-based wine and spirits company owned by the Berish family, has sold its interest in the Armand de Brignac Champagne brand to a new company led by the globally renowned Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter.”

The Los Angeles Laker Nick Young has been dating rapper Iggy Azalea for about a year now and seem to be taking their relationship to the next level. Young recently spoke with DuJour Magazine saying “Me and Iggy just bought a house. We’ve been getting really close lately. Freddie Gibbs and his group were shot at multiple times while they were sitting in their GMC Denali SUV. This happened just after Gibbs performed at Rough Trade which is in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. Right after the incident Gibbs took to instagram giving his followers an update on his status saying “Yep. Still Living. Thanks NYC,” Sources close to Freddie say that everyone is okay and that Gibb’s friend was hit in the knee but is recovering now.

A new feature called “Why are rap lyrics being used as evidence in court” was made by Noisey.com. In the publication it cites that even way back in the early 90s court cases would use rap lyrics. A rap scholar at the University of Richmond, Erik Nielson, says the use of lyrics as evidence has become widespread. “Lyrics are being used all throughout the criminal justice process. They’re being used in indictment hearings, they’re being used in actual trials, They’re being used in sentencing hearings. We know that they’re being used in less for ways, for example to compel a plea bargain.” One court case involved an aspiring rapper by the name of Vonte Skinner that was charged with attempted murder. The reports are that during his trial, that took place back in 2008, the New Jersey state prosecutors read 13 pages of lyrics written by skinner which got him convicted.

After having discussed Chris Browns relationship with Karrueche Tran on last night’s episode of The Real Talk show Chris took to instagram to talk about the hosts Adrienne Bailon and Tamar Braxton. On the show Bailon gave her thoughts on Chris Browns relationship with Karrueche stating “Maybe some of her friends also reap the benefits of her dating Chris Brown, they wanna be a part of that circle.
