Kanye West has just announced today that he will be joined by Young Thug on SNL this coming Saturday for a performance. The song they will be performing will be Ye’s new track “Highlights” which is on his brand new album “The Life Of Pablo”. Ye actually made the announcement during the Yeezy 3 show along with the announcement of his new video game.
Joey Bada$$ has been caught on camera punching a cameraman just outside of Kanye West’s Yeezy 3 show in Madison Square Garden. On his way out of the show Joey got into it with one of the cameramen which was started because the cameraman touch Joey on his head which instantly caused him to react by throwing hands until the cops put a stop to it. This is all bad because it whenever something like this happens a lawsuit soon follows.
Chris Brown has seen his share of court rooms but it looks like he may be right back in one because the lady that says she was punched by him in Vegas is back. The D.A. of Nevada had already come to the conclusion that there just wasn’t enough evidence to hit Chris with misdemeanor charges. The woman, Liziane Gutierrez is now making it a civil lawsuit still sticking to her story that Chris Brown actually punched her in the face and stole her cellphone with charges like battery, theft and defamation would not be a good thing for Chris if this is now taken seriously but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Kanye West finally took to twitter today to announce the official tracklist for his album “TLOP” and finally let everyone in on what it actually stands for. So the album will have 10 tracks and will be called The Life Of Pablo. It is still unknown what exactly it is supposed to mean but it will surely be cleared up sooner or later. The album will be premiered in its entirety tomorrow during Kanye’s Yeezy 3 show at the Madison Square Garden but will also be streamed live on Title.
Just yesterday it was found out that Ciara had filed a $15 million lawsuit again Future because he called her a bad mother over social media and in interviews. TMZ is now reporting that Future may be looking to counter her lawsuit with one of his own stating that Ciara is just a guilty of slandering him in public. But it will be much more tough for Future to prove because his evidence is in a song of her titled “I Bet” and she doesn’t use his name. So for right now it looks like Future is going to hold of on his lawsuit until he know exactly what her lawsuit consist of.
A great way to know a new Drake album is about to drop in his hometown of Toronto is when you start seeing Drakes billboards going up. As we all know by now Drake next album “Views From The 6ix” is set to drop in March and now he has billboards promoting the album going up all over the city right before the big NBA All-Star events. This will get him a ton of extra spotlight even though he really doesn’t even need it but it really does show who is at the top.
Martin Shkreli has been in the news a lot lately because of his wild antics like buying the $2 million Wu-Tang album and threatening Ghostface Killah but now he is being sued by an artist. The artist who goes by the name of Jason Koza had some of his artwork included in the packaging of the album and is suing for improper use of his works. The artwork was his rendition of every single member of the Clan and originally only thought his designs would be used on their website but they actually sent them with the album. It is unknown how much he is asking for but he wants profits for copyright infringement. What makes it look like he can actually win is the fact that he sent an email asking if they would skype him so they can talk about how they can use his art but apparently that never happened so he could win this.
Bobby Shmurda has been in jail waiting on a trail for more then a year since way way back in December of 2014. He has been denied bail 7 times in that time and now he will be waiting even longer for a trail. The new judge in the case, Abraham Clott has chosen to split all of the men up who were involved and give them trails on different days which lead to Bobby getting his trial pushed back to May 11th which has to feel like forever when you have been waiting this long.
Legendary artist Nas will be this week’s special guest on DJ Khaled’s brand new radio show “We the Best Radio”. Khaled kicked off the show with a bang last week with his exclusive premiere of Futures brand new album EVOL. This week he has Nas on the show which he announced via his Snapchat which he is pretty much known for nowadays. The radio show airs on Friday at 8PM eastern and is sure to be a good episode.
While on the BBC radio show called 1Xtra Will Smith talked about a bunch of stuff going on in his life right now which is always exciting to hear about. It got real interesting when he talked about linking back up with former Bad Boys co-star Martin Lawrence saying “I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago, I haven’t seen him in about two years. We looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.” Hopefully it really does happen though and we get to enjoy it in the near future.
In 2014 Lil Wayne owed a whopping $12 million in back-taxes but now the IRS is after him again for another $900,000. Wayne had the tax lien delivered to him in Florida on the 1st of February and it is still unknown if Wayne even paid the previous $12 million but knowing his track record it is unlikely. Wayne is worth quite a bit though so he should have this all paid by now and hopefully he gets it taken care of quickly before they come after him even harder.
While talking to the Grammys along with his crew, Kendrick Lamar talked about the creation of their latest album “To Pimp A Butterfly”. When asked about the inspiration Kendrick said “I felt like I belonged in Africa. I saw all the things that I wasn’t taught. Probably one of the hardest things to do is put [together] a concept on how beautiful a place can be, and tell a person this while they’re still in the ghettos of Compton. I wanted to put that experience in the music.” And when asked about the title he added “The title grasped the entire concept of the record. [I wanted to] break down the idea of being pimped in the industry, in the community and out of all the knowledge that you thought you had known, then discovering new life and wanting to share it.” Then when asked about his thoughts on the label of conscious rapper he said “If you speak on this kind of subject matter you’re labeled a conscious rapper. I don’t even know [if] that word conscious can only exist in one field of music. Everybody is conscious. That’s a gift from God to put it in my heart to continue to talk about this because that’s how I’m feeling at the moment. TDE is known world why but mainly only for Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q. But Ab-Soul took to his twitter to express his feelings on the situation. He tweeted out to his fans thanking them for all of their support and add “I’ll be ready when my #’s called.” And then he brought it all home making sure everyone knew what he was saying by saying “this bench is gettin’ warm as fucc tho mayne”. This caught the eye of the head of TDE, Anthony Tiffith and he tweeted back at Ab saying that if he puts him out he better come with the heat basically and pretty much told him that he would give him a call and get things set in motion.
Most everyone in hip-hop had their money on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday for the Super Bowl 50 but as we all know they did not win and people had to start paying up if they bet. The Migos happened to be some of the people going for the Panthers because why wouldn’t they go for Cam when he does the Dab dance which they are basically pioneers of. New single from Drake “Summer Sixteen” lands at number 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100. This marks Drake’s biggest sales week for himself as a solo artist. The single alone has got 215,000 downloads just this week which is really impressive. Drake is still looking to achieve the number 1 spot as a solo artist which he got close with his major hit single “Hotline Bling” landing at #2 a few months back.
