De Rico, an R&B singer, is suing Justin Bieber and Usher for a whopping $10 million in damages for ripping off his song “Somebody to Love”. Rico claims that the track infringes on copyright by mean of “beat pattern, similar chords, lyrics, and time signature.” The suit was filed two years ago originally but was thrown out by the judge but was voted to return to a Judge Allen recently. “After listening to the Copeland song and the Bieber and Usher songs as wholes, we conclude that their choruses are similar enough and also significant enough that a reasonable jury could find the songs intrinsically similar,” Pamela Harris wrote who is a Circuit court judge.
