Swae Lee Drops New Single ‘Dance Like No One’s Watching’: Listen

Swae Lee hasn’t had a lot of luck when it comes to success of his singles lately.
The Rae Sremmurd rapper-singer has been trying to launch his new album HUMAN NATURE for a while but his songs have not stuck with the audience, even though the last one ‘Reality Check‘ back in June was quite a good listen. About 10 days ago, Swae Lee was one of the headliners at Day 1 of Rolling Loud’s virtual hip-hop festival where he debuted a new song.

Swae Lee then confirmed a couple of days ago that he will be dropping the new single titled ‘Dance Like No One’s Watching’ this Friday. Right on time, the song is now here for listening pleasure. “What in the f*ck is the reason? / I want the check, comin’ in some / I’m goin’ up until I’m gone / You won’t even know ’til the day come,” he sings in his trademark voice.
The groovy song is difficult to put into a specific genre, something Swae Lee would be proud of. Listen below (currently only out in select international markets).

Lupe Fiasco Signs Chicago Duo TDK: Listen to Their Debut Single ‘Check’ (Premiere)

Lupe Fiasco is a top tier lyricist and arguably one of the best to ever touch the mic. He also makes sure he has an eye on some of the emerging talent in the industry but till now, he has not done business with too many on the label side.
Today, Lupe is changing that by announcing new signees to his 1st and 15th Entertainment label: TDK aka Two Depressed Kids. The duo made of Jake and Drew and hailing from Lupe’s hometown of Chicago, was supposed to be on the road with him on his 2020 Food and Liquor tour, which ended up getting postponed due to the pandemic. TDK have not officially released any music so far but HHNM is premiering their first official single ‘Check’ today.

It’s a bouncy track produced by Wiz Buchanan and represents a modern Trap sound that most fans will be surprised to hear from artists signed to Lupe. It’s taken from their forthcoming 6-song EP — listen to the HHNM premiere below. “Excited to bring TDK into the FNF family!” Lupe said to HHNM. “Catch them next year opening on my rescheduled tour dates. Full EP in the works but this debut track goes hard. Keep an eye on these guys.”

We also chopped it up with Two Depressed Kids about the song, signing with Lupe and more.
Can you tell us a bit about yourselves since there isn’t much info online.
Well our names are Jake and Drew and we go by TDK (Two Depressed Kids). We met each other in grade school when we were about 9 years old and then started to make music and formed the group TDK in our junior year of high school. In our younger years, we both had some struggles family wise, Jake mostly with his parents being separated and not on good terms and I (Drew) didn’t know my biological father and had to move a lot as a kid. During high school we both pretty much stuck to ourselves (more of the loner/stoner types), played sports, and worked on writing verses for fun and just going on drives so we could freestyle and smoke. After high school we both went to college for a while. Jake went to the University of Iowa and I went to Western Illinois University. I only attended for a little under a full school year and was kicked out due to poor grades. Jake attended the University of Iowa for a year and a half and then came home from school after getting mono and falling off track with school. At that time, I was kicked out of my house and had to go live with my grandparents and work at a factory for about 9 months while continuing to write music. It was at this time that Jake and I started to think that we should go to a studio to record our music, and after a little convincing from our friends we ended up going to 1st and 15th studios. Jake and I then moved in together and started taking music way more serious, and after just 3 studio sessions we ended up meeting our now Manager KD. We were then offered the opportunity to sign with 1st and 15th so we did! After that, the hard work started to really kick in and we just started going to the studio as often as possibly for the past year and a half.

The first single ‘Check’ is an interesting listen. Is it a good indication of the type of music you two make?
To be honest, it is and it isn’t at the same time. We love to make fun dance/club music, but we also make a lot more serious music too. We think people will be surprised and fall in love with the music we will be putting out in the future. In a lot of ways it will be nostalgic and have a classic sound we all know and love but with our own hip hop twist on it. We’re very excited to show people what we are capable of musically and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

How did you connect with Lupe and end up signing with his 1st and 15th Entertainment label?
After we met KD at 1st and 15th studio, and started to work under the label, we got to fly out to Seattle to meet Lupe and watch him open up for Nas at his Illmatic anniversary show.
Does he offer you his inputs with your music and business advice?
As of now he has not, but we can’t wait to be able to get in the studio with him and watch a lifelong idol of ours do his thing. Although he hasn’t given us any advice face to face, he has taught us a lot through his music as we grew up listening to Lupe. Watching his old interviews and seeing him perform live has also taught us a lot such as how to carry ourselves as artists and more than anything how to stay humble and true to yourself.

Bow Wow Welcomes Son with Olivia Sky

2 hours ago News

Bow Wow is a dad once again.
The rapper revealed that he recently welcomed a son with Instagram model Olivia Sky. He confirmed his paternity on Thursday by sharing a photo of his sleeping baby boy on social media. “Man you gone take all the girls,” he captioned the pic.

This comes nearly a week after Olivia hinted that Bow Wow was the father. She posted a photo of their son with the caption “My dawg for life” before fans started speculating who the father was.

Bow Wow previously addressed the baby rumors on his song “D.W.M.O.D.,” which stands for “Dealing With My Own Demons.” “Shai asking about a brother, I don’t know what to say,” he raps. “That’s gon’ be one of them talks that we have face-to-face / I’m looking in his eyes, I’m tryna see me in him / I’m peeping out his swag, and I see the resemblance.”
He added, “Seen the boy three times, shit, why would I lie? / Baby mom’s would bring him through just so we spend some time / And if he mine, well shit, you know I’m steppin’ up / Kobe set that example / You know I send my blessings up.”
This is the second child for Bow Wow, who has a 9-year-old daughter, Shai Moss, from his previous relationship with Joie Chavis.

2 Chainz Delays ‘So Help Me God’ Album Release

4 hours ago News

Fans will have to wait a little longer for 2 Chainz’ new album So Help Me God.
The Atlanta rapper won’t be dropping the project on Friday as originally announced. Taking to Instagram, he explained that he’s not quite done with the album, which is awaiting sample clearance and a skit.
“I ain’t dropping my album this week either,” he told fans. “I ain’t finished with it yet. Waiting on two samples to get back, information on two samples…and I’m waiting on a skit, believe it or not.”

But the wait shouldn’t be too much longer. “It should be another couple weeks though,” he added.
Earlier this month, 2 Chainz released a video for the album’s lead single “Money Maker” featuring Lil Wayne.
So Help Me God is the follow-up to 2019’s Rap or Go to the League, which featured appearances from Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Wayne.
2 Chainz will face off against Big Boi and his family on tonight’s premiere of “Celebrity Family Feud,” which airs at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Lil Wayne Releases Deluxe / Original Version of ‘Tha Carter V’: Tracklist & Stream

A few days ago, it was revealed that Lil Wayne will be releasing a Deluxe version of his album Tha Carter V this week.
The news was even more surprising when his manager and business head of Young Money, Mack Maine revealed that it will contain songs that didn’t make the cut from the original album created a few years ago. As we know, Weezy struggled quite a bit when it came to the release of C5 as he was embroiled in a difficult legal battle with Birdman and his label, Cash Money Records. Because of the situation, Wayne had to redo his album a few times.

A supposed “original” version of the album leaked online a year ago so some fans assumed that most of the songs on the official release today will be ones featured on that particular copy. Turns out, a lot of the tracks found on the deluxe version are ones which are new to fans which makes this drop even more special.
Guest appearances on the new edition include Post Malone (on ‘What About Me’), Raekwon (on ‘More to The Story’), Gucci Mane (‘In This House’) and 2 Chainz (on ‘Siri’). See the tracklist below. Currently, the album is only available in select international markets — it will hit all markets at midnight ET.

2 Chainz Pushes Back New Album ‘So Help Me God’

2 Chainz has pushed back the release of his new album So Help Me God, originally supposed to drop tonight, Sept. 25th.
There has not been much promotion for the album in the last few weeks which made some some fans speculate whether the album will release in time. However, there was no confirmation from the rapper himself about any sort of push back. But late last night, the Atlanta rapper took to Instagram stories to reveal to fans that the album has officially been delayed.

Although Tity Boi did not mention a specific new date, he did say that two uncleared samples and an unfinished skit were the reasons for the decision to push back the LP to a later date. Watch the clip below.

2 Chainz released the music video for his latest single ‘Money Maker’ featuring Lil Wayne two weeks ago — watch here.

Breonna Taylor Protests Take Over New York, Louisville, Chicago + More Cities

The Black Lives Matter movement might have just received all the fuel needed to continue pushing for justice and immediate change. Protests have erupted throughout the nation in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Louisville and more prominent cities following a Kentucky grand jury’s decision not to directly indict the officers in the killing of unarmed Black woman Breonna Taylor.

Nick Cannon Says No Black American Woman Has Ever Received Justice

Hollywood actor Nick Cannon is making sure people are aware and alert of his messaging. The hip-hop veteran and TV personality has come forward to share past throwback clips of himself and fellow entertainers explaining how Black American women have never received justice – of any sort – ever. The video compilation comes just shortly after a grand jury decided not to pursue indictments in the slaying of unarmed Black woman Breonna Taylor by three Louisville officers.

New Music: Mozzy – ‘Don’t Play Fair’ (Feat. Wale & Blxst)

Mozzy has already delivered an album called Beyond Bulletproof earlier this year but he continues to put the work in as he returns with a mixtape called Occupational Hazard (grab it here).
The 14-song project features guest appearances from Wale, Quondo Rondo, YFN Lucci, Blxst and more. “This is my favorite project to date out of all my EPs, mixtapes, albums. I had to get back to the old me, the Hellgang Mozzy and bring people that heat that talks directly to the streets. My last album Beyond Bulletproof was something catered to the masses, but Occupational Hazard is for those who live a certain lifestyle,” Mozzy commented on the tape.

“With Occupational Hazard I want to let people know it’s not always velvet or rainbows at the end of the tunnel. When you choose to maneuver and make your money a certain way, there can be consequences that come with that, but own it, embrace it, don’t dwell on it. Know what you signed up for and take the ups and downs with pride,” he continued.
One of the standouts on the project is the track ‘Don’t Play Fair’ where the bay area rapper is joined by two of our favorites, Wale and Blxst. Listen to the introspective street record below.

Multiple Louisville Cops Shot After Breonna Taylor Grand Jury Decision

The Kentucky grand jury’s decision not to charge three cops for the murder of unarmed Black woman Breonna Taylor might have directly impacted the lives of at least two Louisville police officers. New reports claim cops have been shot in the city’s downtown area following the shocking announcement.
Louisville Police Officers Shot
According to reports, two – if not more – cops suffered gunshots in the evening. However, it’s still not certain if the shooting is a result of unrest from locals and peaceful protestors.

The officers were shot around 8:30 p.m. near Broadway and Brook Street as residents took to the city’s streets to protest a grand jury’s decision to not indict police officers in the killing of Breonna Taylor, the Courier-Journal Reported. Federal authorities confirmed the shooting and have arrived to aid in the investigation. “The FBI Louisville SWAT team has responded to an LMPD officer being shot and will continue to assist in the investigation,” the FBI’s Louisville branch tweeted. After the Kentucky grand jury announced its decision not to charge all three officers connected to Taylor’s death, Detroit rappers Big Sean and Kash Doll went to their social media pages to share their shock. Kash reposted a message from the NAACP acknowledging justice for Breonna not happening today.

A Kentucky grand jury indicted former cop Brett Hankison for his extreme indifference to human life during the fatal March 2020 shooting when he fired his gun into three apartments. However, none of the counts are directly linked to Taylor’s death.
The grand jury presented its findings before Judge Annie O’Connell, and the hearing was broadcast remotely. The attorney general’s office asked that a warrant be issued and that Hankison be held in lieu of $15,000 cash bond. Grand juries do not determine guilt or innocence; only whether there is enough evidence to bring criminal charges. Typically, they hear only from the police and prosecutors to make that determination. Taylor was shot and killed by Louisville Metro Police officers during a middle-of-the night raid on her apartment on March 13. Three officers fired their weapons: Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, Officer Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison. (WFPL)

This week, Louisville’s Mayor Greg Fischer declared a state of emergency after the local police department called for it on Monday. The huge decision reportedly allowed Fischer to exercise emergency powers including curfews, restrictions and hired services needed as a result of today’s grand jury decision.
Fischer also announced Tuesday an executive order restricting access to five downtown parking garages and banning on-street parking in order to “provide an extra layer of security for protests in and around Jefferson Square Park.” (WLKY News)
