Everyone got so hyped when when Lil Wayne at a recent show told everyone “I just signed a deal with my motherfucking idol, Jay Z.” This one statement made everyone believe Lil Wayne was actually joing Roc Nation with Beyonce, Rihanna, J.Cole, Kanye, and Jay Z himself but that is sadly just not the case as Waynes manager, Cortez Bryant, made clear. Lil Wayne was simply repeating the fact that he is a co-owner of Tidal now and the internet has taken his announcement out of context. War still rages on with Cash Money so hopefully his new partnership with Tidal allows him to get his Free Weezy Album out sooner.

Last year Riff Raff broke out onto the scene with his debut album Neon Icon. Now just the other day TMZ caught up with the rapper asking him what he was doing in L.A. and his answer to that question was “Working on that big album. Peach Panther sophomore album.” Then Riff Raff talks about who he’s got on the album this time around like Just Bieber and he is trying to get Drake and Lil Wayne. ”Drake might come through. Wayne, Weezy. I already got Bieber on the album,” Riff Raff said.

Bonnaroo has one thing not many other music festivals have and that is jam sessions with some being planned out and some just happening on the spot in the heat of the moment. The Earth, Wind & Fire jam session goes under the just happened on the spot catergory. They invited a couple rappers on stage with them to end thier performance but it wasn’t just any two rappers they got Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper. With no plan at all they gave a true jam session to the people and thanks to people recording it you can check out some clips from the session. Both Kendrick and Chance passed each other the mic back and forth going straight off the top while Earth, Wind & Fire laid down some amazing music. Check out some clips below.

There were studio cameras rolling when YG was shot in the hip three times just outside of the studio in San Fernando Valley. Cops say YG is not cooperating with them but the cops now have a lead from video footage captured at the scene. TMZ is reporting that the footage shows both the shooting and a fight that broke out in the studio just before. YG is recovery well which was confirmed by Dj Mustard just this morning.

After Safaree Samuels dropped his new song “Love The Most” Nicki responded over twitter saying Safaree was unfaithful and more. Safaree responded when he was approached by TMZ about cheating and he doesn’t deny that he did but also says “It’s a two-way street” implying that Nicki was cheating on him too while they were together. Samuals says the record was not a diss but he was just making a statement. Check out the clip below.

A rumor is making the rounds now that Kylie Jenner is working on an album with help from boyfriend Tyga. Kylie trying to start up a singing career sounds very likely since she has been seen on snapchat showing off her vocal skills and going to a studio, and taking vocal lessons. Chances that Tyga is helping her since he has a lot of experience in the business makes a lot of sense. We will see if Kylie got what it takes for the business in time but if she is truly making “Tinashe-type music” then she might have a chance.

TMZ is reporting that west coast rapper, YG was shot 3 times outside of Studio City at 1.45 AM. The reports are that he was shot three times in the hip but was able to get himself into a friends car who drove him to the hospital. His condition is not known and he was no cooperating with police when they arrived at the hospital. At this time their are no suspects but we will keep you updated on the situation. Some one close to YG also tweeted out “YG is doing fine. Nothing life-threatening.” Hopefully YG makes a quick recovery.

Back in 2013 Eminem’s song “Rap God” set the record for most words in a song with a staggering 1560 words. Now someone has surpassed that record and his name is Harry Shotta. Harry is the man behind the new song “Animal” which is also a six minute song with very speedy delivery. The song has a total of 1771 words and is now the record holder for most words in a song. Complex got their hands on Soundscan stats for the brand new Troy Ave album and it was not a pretty sight. The album sold only 30 physical copies which could easily be people he knows. Most all of his sales are from digital but even in that space he only sold a total of 4,373 in a week. This album “Major Without A Deal” had features from 50 Cent, Jeezy, Fabolous, Ty Dolla $ign, T.I., A$AP Ferg, Cam’ron, Rick Ross, and more but that didn’t even peek peoples interest in the album.

A new ad campaign by Sprite called “Obey Your Verse” will feature rap quotes on the cans. Sprite was actually one of the first advertiser to welcome rappers in to reach out to urban communities. When most other companies would reach out to the more pop culture friendly rappers Sprite would reach out to the real hip-hop artist like Curtis Blow and Heavy D. Yesterday they had a press confress where they announced they would have classic and modern rap lyrics on their cans. You’ll find Rakims “Thinking of a master plan.” And Drakes “Started from the bottom”. This ad campaign will go on through the Summer. Check out some of the designs below.

 

Calling into HOT 97, Kanye West talked to on air host Nessa about some things. There is no audio at the point but the host tweeted out some interesting parts of the conversation. “I’m completely boring. All I do is go to the studio everyday. I’m ridin’ through the ‘burbs with no woes.” Kanye said. Another comment Kanye had was we can expect new music from his upcoming album “SWISH” on his daughter North West’s birthday on June 15^th to celebrate.

It is clear now that Iggy Azalea is taking a step back and is attempting to change her sound. Iggy has been cancelling shows and reworking everything. Last night Iggy answered fans questions and when asked to talk about new music she replied by saying she can’t really say anything about any new music “not really other than that i scraped an entire 6 months of work and startd totally new” Iggy said. Hopefully Iggy gets her music where she wants it and the fans appreciate it.

The off-duty cop that The Game punched has just filed a $12 million lawsuit against him. That is a huge amount of money compared to the $50,000 The Game posted for bail right after his arrest. The cop named Onyebuchi Awaji wants a huge pay out from the rapper. Court documents break it down like this

Pain and suffering: $1,000,000

Emotional distress: $1,000,000

Medical expenses (to date): $50,000

Medical expenses (future): $100,000

Punitive damages: $10 million

This lawsuit was actually filed way back in april but Game has yet to respond and is awaiting trail. So keep it locked right here for updates on this situation.

Tyrese and Rev Run have been worked together on a book called “Manology” and it was a New York Times bestseller. This knowledge they put into the book will now be directed into a show that the two will host on Oprahs OWN network. The show will center around relationship advice and will start with 8 episodes running in early 2016 and is yet to have a title. The president of OWN, Sheri Salata, had this to say “When Rev Run, Tyrese and CBS came to us with the idea of a primetime series we were energized by the chance to bring OWN viewers something fresh and entertainingly real in the ‘love space.’ We can’t wait to turn them loose—enlightening us all about what makes men tick.” Hopefully it all goes according to plan and Tyrese and Rev Run do good things for people in need of advice.

Just yesterday Meek Mill was filming the music video for the latest track off his upcoming album “Dreams Worth More Than Money”. A former member of Meeks Dreamchasers, Louie V Gutta made his way to the shoot with his posse trying to start trouble. This all ended with a man getting pistol-whipped and there is video of everything that went down. Check out the video of the fight below via TMZ.
