Brooklyn’s District Attorney’s office has just announced that the gun case that was at one point thought to be involving Bobby Shmurda is soon to be dismissed in the coming weeks. The young rapper is still locked up in Rikers after being arrested last month with most of his crew. Charges Bobby still faces are gun possession, murder, and conspiracy.
A$AP Rocky is making his acting debut in a film produced by Diddy & Pharrell called “Dope”
After venturing into the worlds of rap and fashion A$AP Rocky is now taking his talents to film. The young rap artist will play a supporting role in a film called “Dope” that is produced by Pharrell and Diddy and was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past weekend. The film is directed by Rick Famuyiwa and is about a music geek living in Inglewood in the 90s. Plus Sony has bought the film for $7 million after a successful run in the festival so expect a full release coming up very soon.
Someone tried selling Chris Brown’s ID from Jail
A jail ID of Chris Browns ended up online last week and the seller was looking for a $10,000 payout for it. But Browns lawyer caught wind of this and tracked it back to San Bernardino County Jail where Chris had stayed for a few days back when he was waiting on court dates. The San Bernardino police investigated this and found the man with the ID though the man says the ID went through a few friends before getting to him so as of right now there has not been any arrested.
Birdman is upset with Lil Wayne over his “CoCo” song on “Sorry for the Wait 2”
Birdman expressed how unhappy he is with Lil Waynes remix to O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo” song. This is the opening track on Wayne “Sorry for the Wait 2” and according to TMZ Birdman is upset with what Lil Wayne says about his label and him. One reason Birdman is mad is because Lil Wayne is trying to break out of a binding contract. Another is what Lil Wayne said in the song which is this “Who kept this shit together? Nigga, me, that’s who,” Lil Wayne raps on the record’s opening bars. “Who was there when niggas left? Nigga, me, that’s who / Cash Money is an army, I’m a one man army / And if them niggas comin’ for me, I’m goin’ out like Tony.” Birdman says he will fight Wayne in court if he tries to sue and will only release Waynes album on his terms.
Lupe Fiasco talks about Kid Cudi beef
What Lupe says is one of his last interviews and his last interview with Sway he decided to open up about some things. Fiasco says in the interview that he was cool with Kid Cudi up until about a year ago “Fuck him, I wanna get to the bottom of what the fuck you talkin’ about. Because it’s me. The same nigga you went in Complex and was like, ‘One of the only niggas who reached out to me genuinely and had love for me was Lupe.’ You the worst type of nigga,” Lupe said. Lupe also states that going back and forth with Cudi was a major reason he left twitter.

The two will be at the Independent Filmmaker’s Lounge on January 24th making an announcement about an upcoming project that they are working on. Ghost and Raekwon will be at the “#PurpleCarpet Screening” for a preview of a movie that they are releasing later in the year.
Iggy Azalea calls out Ebro for a meme he posted
Thanks to an Iggy Azalea quote Hip-Hop fans all over were up in arms once again. As reported on yesterday Iggy while doing an interview with GQ said she thinks she sparked change in Hip-Hop. Hot 97’s Ebro radio personality decided to make fun of what Iggy said posting a photo of a unhappy baby in relation to Iggy saying she sparked a change in Hip-Hop. When Iggy saw this she responded quickly on twitter saying “I’m talking about changing who we accept having a voice in hip hop. As the only white, Australian,woman with a 1#.” Then she went on to add, “you can meme all you want but I have change many ppls opinions about allowing different voices to be heard.” Plus “u guys are the BIGGEST haters you try to exaggerate everything I say to make it seem like I have a god-like complex.” So if I was Hot 97 I wouldn’t expect Iggy to make any more stops by my radio show.

A$ap Ferg Gives Back to Washington D.C. Schools with VH1
For Martin Luther King Day, A$ap Ferg visited a Washington D.C. middle school, assisting with murals and enhancing their music room: “This is a tough time in my life, I want to be around family, be around friends and people that genuinely care about my well-being and just my fans that love my music and love what I do,” Ferg explained. “That’s why I came here. I came to give back to the kids. I came to talk to the kids, tell them that they can do whatever they want to do in life. Doughbeezy pistol whipped in home invasion
Rapper Doughbeezy from Houston was the victim of a home invasion on Tuesday. The invasion left one suspect dead and another arrested and Doughbeezy was found to be pistol whipped. The invasion happened around 9:20 PM outside of the rappers friend’s house where two male suspects came up and pistol whipped Doughbeezy forcing the family into the home. Beezy managed to get to his car and grab a gun coming back and shooting one of the suspects sending the other off running only to be caught later by police.
Iggy Azalea says she sparked a change inspiring leniency in hip-hop
There is no denying the fact that Iggy Azalea had a very successful 2014 despite all the hate she has received from hip-hop fans all over. In a recent interview with GQ magazine when asked about the harsh things that are said to her and how she copes Iggy said she really doesn’t care about what people in the industry and other artist think as long as the fans are supporting her and voting for her. “I was a fan of rap music growing up, and I didn’t feel like there were enough characters that represented me and my situation. So I think it’s needed.” She said.
Wale wants Kanye to make Wizards new uniform
While speaking to ESPN magazine Wale let loose some information of his plans for the future of the Wizards which is said to include some new jerseys. “I want to be a shot in the arm to DC basketball, My job is to provide a spark, at all costs. I’m not going to do anything corny, but I’m talking to Kanye about designing new uniforms. I want to see the phone booth rocking every time I come here. I want to create the ‘Lake Show,’ create what the Bulls had. I want to take the personality of our stars—John [Wall], Otto [Porter], Marcin [Gortat]—and create what Kemp and Payton had, what LeBron and D-Wade had. That’s the vibe I want.”
