An album called “Redemption Of The Beast” has just been announced by DMX and is to be released next week. There were hints that DMX was working on a project when Swizz Beatz and him said they were working on some new stuff. The album has not officially been announced but thanks to Amazon pre-orders people have found out about the 16-track album with features from Freeway, Jannyce, and Rampage. Coachella 2015’s lineup has just been released showing a wide variety of different musical acts. For the hip-hop side of things we have Drake, Lil B, Azealia Banks, Ghostface Killah, Flying Lotus, Raekwon, Vic Mensa, Ab-Soul, The Weeknd, FKA Twigs, Run The Jewels, Kaytranada, Jamie xx and tons more. With Drake headlining the third day it is definitely going to be a show worth seeing.

Rumors have been going around that Bobby Shmurda had been released from prison with an instagram video to back it up posted just yesterday. The post showed Bobby Shurma saying “I’m Back!” with the caption “#MyBro Is Back #DontTellNobody”. Many fans assumed that the rapper had made bail but at the end of the day it was just the poster Relle pulling a publicity stunt. When Riker’s Island was contacted about Bobby Shmurda they said he is still in custody. Bobby’s bail is currently set at 2 million and he faces up to 25 years if convicted of all charges.

Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ was arrested during a show of his in Australia this weekend after he reportedly struck one of the security guards in the face, breaking their nose. The security guard says he thought that Joey wasn’t authorized to be on the stage and stopped him before his performance to check his credentials then Bada$$ punched him in the face and went to perform his show. Following the performance Joey was arrested and spent the night in custody. The guard was taken to the hospital for further assistance. This morning Joey’s rep issued a statement saying “There was a misunderstanding with security at the Byron Falls Festival show, which resulted in charges being laid by NSW Police. After fully cooperating with Police, Joey was granted bail and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.”

Jay Z talked on Oprah’s “Master Class” project arguing that hip-hop has improved race relations in ways no other art form or figure has. “I think that hip hop has done more for racial relations than most cultural icons, save Martin Luther King, because his dream speech we realize[d] when President Obama got elected. But, the impact of the music, you know, this music didn’t only influence kids from urban areas. It influenced people all around the world.” Jay Z said in the piece.

A month ago rapper Beanie Sigel was shot in the torso in an altercation in Pleasantville, New Jersey. The artist has been in the hospital ever since last reported to be in critical condition but today it seems Sigel has been improving and has been released from the hospital. Sigels fellow State Property member Neef Buck manage to snap a photo of Beanie being helped into a car leaving the hospital.

If Drake hadn’t done the “Tuesday” remix we probably would not be talking about iLoveMakonnen right now. The fact that Drake co-signed Makonnen made him blow up a lot faster than he would of on his own is well known. But tweets have just surfaced from back in 2010 and 2011 that tell a different story of Mokonnen’s thoughts about Drake. Some tweets from Makonnen were “I’m so tired of hearing about Drake over hyped washed up ass already”, “whats a bitch ass nigga like you doing? Listening to drake”, “Drake is mad corny! I just heard that practice song, straight cornpuff” None of the tweets seem to be too bad so hopefully Drizzy doesn’t catch wind of the past hate and decide to end collaborations with the young artist.

Lil Wayne and Master P have been working on a collaboration called “Power”. The new song will be released on Master P’s mixtape We All We Got, which will drop on January 5^th, 2015. Master P spoke about their collaboration after doing a preview: “Me and Lil Wayne about to go crazy,” he says, “and it’s about to be a magical 2015.”

Riff Raff announced on Instagram that he had limited addition Jordans that were to be released in the summer of 2015 only to be corrected by the Jordan Company: “At this time there are currently no plans for this shoe or a collaboration with this individual.”

Today we have learned that Seattles own Macklemore and his fiancée, Tricia Davis, are going to be having their first child. Tricia was spotted wearing loose-fitting clothing and not drinking any alcoholic beverages while at a New Year show Macklemore was performing at. This is not confirmed but the two have been together for eight years and have been engaged for one year so it seems very likely when put with all of the other evidence gathered.

In today’s world rappers are all over social media talking about their beliefs and politics Logic does things differently making music that is very personal and hits close to home for many. Though logic says he rarely will take action with issues like in Ferguson because he doesn’t consider himself an activist. “I feel like if I go in that direction I will give up Rap. I go all the way. If I’m gonna do something, I’m gonna go all the way. If I’m gonna fight for not Black rights, White, Brown — for the rights of human beings, I’m gonna go all the way. I’m gonna drop everything I’m doing and I’m gonna dedicate my entire life and know that I could be killed for the things that I’m gonna say and the things that I wanna stand up for. That’s the type of person I am.” Logic said. “I think it was Donald Glover, Childish Gambino, a good homie of mine. Really awesome fucking person. He said, ‘We got a bunch of Twitter activists.’ #PrayForThem. #DoSomething. That’s real shit [laughs]. I don’t take to Twitter. I don’t talk about shit on Twitter. I don’t talk about equality amongst men. You know why? Because that’s not my fucking job. That’s not my job. I think my job is to discuss certain things that I believe in on my music and then have that bleed over in to this.” Logic added.

Ivy Condo Association is trying to take Birdmans Condo away from him. The reports from TMZ are that Birdmans checks have been bouncing and he has acquired up to $12,500 in unpaid fees for the home. The Association went to court back in November requesting that the condo be foreclosed by Christmas. The Miami home as of now seems to still be in Birdmans possession but we will keep you up to date with any further details in the story.

With Cam’ron announcing that he will be retiring from rap after his next album it comes as a surprise that the Dipset crew will be coming together again for a new mixtape in 2015. Jim Jones and Juelz Santana are said to be a part of the project along with Cam. This mixtape is set to be hosted by the likes of Flex, Swizz Beatz, DJ Khaled, and DJ Mustard.

King Los says Hip Hop has no communication: “We’ve become so elusive because the allure of being unavailable is sexy in our culture. You can’t talk to Jay Z, you can’t call Jay right now. You can’t. I don’t give a fuck if you know him, you can’t talk to Jay. And it’s so funny, man — I got to talk to this guy, to talk to this guy, to talk to this guy, to talk to this guy, to not even ever talk to you, man. In all honesty, I will never fucking talk to you. Lets be real. Let’s be honest, man. Are you going to take five minutes out of your day to actually talk to me so we can really figure out the miscommunications that are happening? Nah. Hip Hop has no communication. So the fact that we have no communication means everybody is fucking broke except for the people that run this shit.”

After being M.I.A. for a good while, Akon has announced on Twitter that he has just released a new Album called “Stadium”, the album consists of five separate discs and five different genres. Akon announced his comeback and album release on Twitter:

“Thru out this long wait, there has been fans who stuck with me. This Album is for you! 5 Albums 5 genres equaling STADIUM.”
