After recently meeting up with New York’s Governor Cuomo, Russell had positive comments to make about their discussion: “I’m very excited about what the governor said. I’m going to hold him to it. I have a lot of faith in him. If he said he’s going to issue an executive order, we can certainly count on it, but we’ll make sure it happens.”

Cuomo’s spokeswoman also shared her piece of the conversation involving Jay Z, Governor Cuomo, and Russell Simmons: “Gov. Cuomo and Shawn ‘JAY Z’ Carter had a productive conversation about doing a top to bottom review of the criminal justice system and how we can all work together to pass a reform package that ensures equality in the eyes of the law,”

Warren G was sure to praise quite a few rappers in his most recent interview: “Kendrick Lamar. I like the way he do his thang,” Warren G said. “I like the two youngsters, Rae Sremmurd, I like them, I like the way they get down. I like Rich Homie Quan and the way he get down. I like Drake, ’cause he got a story. Muthafuckas be like, ‘Hey just checkin’ into the women,’ but hey, them the muthafuckas that’s gonna buy your records. While rumors are being spread about Dr. Dre returning to the music industry, Bishop Lamont had a few thoughts on the matter: “It’s so crazy when people always try to speak on another person. It’s kind of corny to me. It’s like, ‘Let that man speak for himself.’ So, a better way to redirect that question, ‘cause everybody else wanna speak on shit, if that nigga ain’t talking about it why the fuck you talking about it? Everyone has been talking about Lil Wayne’s most recent issues with Cash Money Records. They supposedly refused to release Tha Carter V causing Lil Wayne to blast Cash Money on Twitter for the past few weeks. Lil Wayne took it to Twitter today to say:

“YM! That’s it. Nothing else” and he left it at that.

So it seems as though Diddy really did feel some type of way about the ownership of the “0-100” beat. In a video that has been brought to light by TMZ you see Diddy a few months ago on stage saying that Drake stole the beat. This video was shot back in June with Diddy saying “I gave this shit to this nigga, and this nigga stole this shit from me. But at the end of the day, the shit still hard” and then he has his DJ throw on “0-100” then he starts dancing to it.

With Dr. Dre not having come out with any new music in a very long time it may come as a surprise to some that he is named the Highest Paid Musician of 2014 by Forbes. Thanks for the most part to him selling Beats to Apple for a huge $3 billion which made Dre hip hops first billionaire. He has made more money this year, $630 million, then Beyonce , Paul McCartney, One Direction, and Beiber combined.

Yung Berg is a rapper who has recently been fired from Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood for attacking his girlfriend and having it come out that he owes over $86,000 in child support. Hot 97 is now reporting that Ray J’s manager by the name of Cash Jones has called Berg out as being gay over instagram. Jones says he caught Yung Berg in the studio with a male teenager doing “out of line” things.

NBC 10 Philadelphia is reporting that rapper Beanie Sigel is in critical condition after getting through surgery. Sigel is heavily sedated and is still not able to speak with police. Updates are coming in that he was not shot outside of his house he was at the house of his brother-in-law a 22 year –old Umar Salahuddin and the brother-in-law has not been cooperating with the police at all only making it harder to really know what happened.

Next year on February 23^rd BET will be having its annual BET Honors awards. They announced today that Kanye West will be receiving the “Visionary Award” With Usher, John W. Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, and Dr. Johnetta B. Cole also receiving awards in business, theater, art, music, and technology. The BET site has this written about Kanye West “Kanye West will be honored for his extraordinary contributions across the arts, including roles as a record producer, rapper, filmmaker and fashion designer. He’s a multifaceted trailblazer and pioneer whose accomplishments are all marked by his unique and forward-thinking approach.”

Just yesterday it was reported that Diddy and Drake got into a fight at Club Liv in Miami for Khaled’s birthday. Today we have learned from TMZ that the conversation was about a Boi-1da beat that the producer sent to both Drake and Diddy. Diddy sat on the beat for months and Drake decided to record over it and give it to the people. This made Diddy angry and he finally decided to act on his anger when he finally saw Drake at Khaleds party. The specific Boi-1da song is unknown but it could of only been either “6 God”, “How Bout Now”, or the older “0 To 100” which were all very well received by Drakes fans. An L.A. rapper by the name of Earl Hayes, who was a close friend of Floyd Mayweather, and his wife , Vh1 star Stephanie Moseley from “Hit The Floor”, were found dead. Neighbors heard gunshots and a womans screams. Tmz had this to report “Sources connected with Hayes tell us … around 2 years ago he separated from Stephanie because of what he says was her affair with Trey Songz. They got back together but, as one friend put it, “He was crushed and never got over it.” We’re told he frequently brought up Songz.” This is very sad news and we will keep you up to date if any more news comes out about the situation.

J. Cole is projected to have the highest selling record of 2014 in hip-hop. With hardly any promo and no features on the album you would not usually expect the numbers it looks like J. Cole is going to pull. Coles “2014 Forest Hill Drive” officially dropped today and is projected to sell 240,000-270,000 this week which puts his album well above the album that was holding top spot in hip-hop all year, Rick Rosses “Mastermind” from way back in March which sold 179,000 copies. The thing is even if the numbers are true J. Cole still wouldn’t be hitting his sales numbers that he hit with his previous album Born Sinner.

Reports are circulating of a physical confrontation between Diddy and Drake. A few people are saying that Diddy slapped Drake including DJ Sam Sneak and Charlamange Tha God over twitter. Another big outlet talking about the incident is MTV with some sources saying it was about Cassie and others saying it wasn’t it is unclear what really went down as of right now. The two were at DJ Khaled’s birthday party when this all happened and we will keep you updated with further details as they come along.

The updates on Kendricks upcoming album have been scarce and the fans are getting desperate for any bit of information. Today a tracklist is making its way around the internet and is allegedly the tracklist of K.dots next album. The photo is very poor quality but you can make out the names of most every track with the right TDE, Interscope, and Aftermath logos at the bottom it is either a good fake or can actually be legit. Features include Dr. Dre, Jay Rock, Ron Isley, and Pete Rock which keeps features small which is always good with a Kendrick album because he has a lot to say. We will let you know as more information arises about this leak if it is even an actual leak.

MMG leader Rick Ross has showed his displeasure with Timbalands logo for his Mosley Music Group that looks very similar to the logo for Maybach Music Group. MMG took to twitter posting a snapshot of Timbalands logo with the caption “Does Super Producer @Timbaland wanna be us? Lol where Magoo @MissyElliot @ElliotWilson @rickrozay” Then Ross himself of his own twitter posted “@Timbaland #WhereMagoo” keep it locked for more information on this matter.
