It’s not a selfish thing it’s just not fair to the fans. You’ve got millions of people who want your music and they don’t understand the behind the scenes politics. I’m dropping regardless. I’m paying for my own videos and everything so I ain’t waiting on nobody. Everything come to the light so you got to treat people the way you want to be treated at the end of the day.”
Kanye West 808’s & Heartbreak: Most Ground Breaking Album of All Time
Rolling Stone has recently named Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak Album the most ground breaking of all time: “Kanye West’s Auto-Tune-heavy, emotionally naked fourth album came after a brutal year during which his mother died and his engagement broke up,” the famed music-based magazine wrote. “But the album’s cavernous sound and exposed-soul lyrics confused even those who had been aware of West’s recent trials. Its core aesthetic was like nothing in Hip Hop: freshly butchered feelings enumerated in detail, but masked by digital processing; beds of spare synths used to balance a mix of singing and rapping. However, over time it served as a new template for up-and-comers in Hip Hop and R&B. Drake cited West as his budding sound’s ‘most influential person’ when he was hustling mixtapes, while artists like Future further tweaked the idea of using Auto-Tune as a way to convey emotions that evoke too much feeling when spoken of explicitly.”

Many people are all riled up about the recent Eric Garner and Mike Brown tragedies; Puff Daddy has finally had enough and spoke out to the people via Instagram: “I can’t take it anymore! It’s Enough, and enough is enough! Honestly my emotions are all over the place. We as artists, myself included, all have to step up and be better leaders in our communities. It’s a hard burden to bear, but we have been chosen whether we like it or not. We need to do whatever we can in a POSITIVE way, to help unite people of all colors in this injustice! In order to be successful, it is very important that we have a well ORGANIZED, STRATEGIC plan. This is super important in order for us to make change!! REAL organization, REAL strategy and a TRUE commitment to not forget and move on like we usually do when the news stops reporting. This has to stop and we as a people are the only ones that can stop it. I truly do not have the right to preach, but I do have the right to speak. #EricGarner #MikeBrown #UNITE”

We hadn’t performed in 10 years. It was old songs. I’m like, ‘How am I gonna present these songs? I don’t have nothing new to say.’ So I was like, ‘Maybe I can start saying new stuff while doing these old songs.’ It became a theme where I was more excited about this than the actual show. This is fun, running out in these.”

CeeLo Green was recently asked by paparazzi about the allegations on Bill Cosby, making it very clear that it is unfair of anyone to assume on the matter: “No, no, no, I’m saying that can be the perception,” he said. “And it is the perception of many simply because he hadn’t made a formal statement defending himself. But you can’t defend yourself in that capacity. You just have to let facts be facts and so on and so forth. The facts have to speak the loudest. With that being said, none of it seems fair. And of course to any victim in that situation, it’s highly unfair. Extremely unfair. It’s not for me to really judge it. I definitely can’t judge it but it’s just unfortunate because he’s so beloved to so many people.”
