Bone thugs-n-harmony has one copy of their final group album, which is being held at $1 million.

“When I heard about what Wu-Tang Clan was doing—and I think it was you who told me about it—I just thought it was a brilliant and genius idea,” said Krayzie Bone during an interview back in July.

“We talked about it for a while then we were coming up on this world tour. We said, ‘We need to do everything simultaneously.’ The idea for that is to make it the final group project. What better way to go out and to solidify the [Bone thugs-n-harmony] brand. I don’t see no other way. It has to be big. We have to make sure we reach everybody. So I think doing it like this will be huge, especially for our last group album.”

During the BET Hip-Hop Awards weekend Snoop Dogg said he was working with separate communities to speak out against gang violence. The event was inspired by Snoops 2013 song “No Guns Allowed” and it shares the same name. The event was a platform for discussion about police brutality and killings in the wake of Michael Brown’s death plus more general gun violence in America. Snoop spoke primarily about L.A. saying “L.A. is known for gangbanging, we are one of the originators of gangbanging. So if we could gel together to find ways to work together and end the gang-violence hopefully—with the help of you guys—we’ll be able to go around the globe and go to our urban areas and inner cities and rid the violence and give these kids something other to inspire towards other than being a gang member or drug dealer.” The event also had a Ferguson youth group called lost voices and the family of Mike Brown.

French Montana clears up what he meant by Lyrical Rappers are Broke

french-montana

In an interview with Complex French Montana made clear his comments from weeks ago stating lyrical rappers are broke. French says his comments were “flipped” made to sound completely different then what he had said. “They took it and flipped it a whole different way. What I really meant to say was ‘if you don’t have a business mind then you just rapping’…Rap is only 20 percent of what you doing. Cause you can go and read a book and write exactly what’s in that book in your song. And people gonna think you’re a genius. You’re not a genius. It was in a book…What I love about rappers and rappers I fell in love with my whole life is that I seen them go through the same struggles. I seen it from Tupac. That’s why a lot of rappers don’t have character.” A lot of rappers took offense to French Montanas previous comments and hopefully he has cleared the air on some of the issues.

1-wale_01-07-2013

Wale in an interview with The Breakfast Club said “It was hard because I was there when the jawn was S. Dot Enterprises. That jawn was brand spankin’ new. It was hard for me. But to me personally they’re going in another direction. They’re sports. My day-to-day person was Rich Kleiman. You know, he’s with Victor Cruz and Kevin Durant and I believe Hakeem Nicks. He’s got his own thing going on. I wish those guys the best. I introduced Victor Cruz to Rich as well as K.D.” Wale says his music will not be affected by the change and in fact he is open to more opportunities he wasn’t getting with his last Management team.

Kendrick Lamar would like his “Singles” to be called “Statements”

7-KendrickLamar_11-14-2011

Kendrick in an interview with Power 106 said “I want to retract the word ‘single, I want to call things that I release ‘statements’ because this music is something that the world has to hear and it’s not only for me, but it’s for the stress. It’s for our livelihoods. When I want to come back on my release, I want to make sure I do just that and continue that.” It really seems like Kendrick wants to reach new levels with his music hopefully without compromising the hip hop sound that is dying out in mainstream rap these days.

Rah Digga Claims Iggy Azalea isn’t Hip-Hop

iggy

Iggy Azalea it’s like I can’t get into her, because it’s just not real to me. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian Hip Hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo. Personally, I don’t consider her Hip Hop. I listen to her album. Everything that I hear on there is everything but that. And I feel like Hip Hop is Hip Hop.”

Iggy Azalea responded to Rah Digga’s comments on Twitter:

“I honestly don’t really mind if I’m described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining.”

“its definitely funny seeing ppl get so emotional over it all. What does it matter? music is music and many enjoy mine, no need to feel upset.”

Kendrick talks about the Blood and Crip being on his “I” cover art

7-KendrickLamar_11-14-2011

Kendrick says that he had a specific goal with the cover art for his new single “I”. “Where I’m from, there’s a lot of gang culture and things like that, so instead of throwing on up gang signs, which we used to, I put a Blood and I put a Crip together and we’re throwing up hearts,” Kdot said in an interview with AMP Radio. “Sparking the idea of some type of change through music or through me because I go back to the city now and people give me the honor and respect that, you know, this kid can change a little bit something different that’s been going on in the community.” Kendricks new album has yet to get a release date but hopefully we get something soon and it is another classic.
