Supposed Drake Diss Track Aimed At Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross & More Leaks Online

It feels like fans have been waiting every single night to see if Drake will drop his diss track responding to Kendirck Lamar’s ‘Like That‘ where Kendrick takes the most direct shots at Drake he’s taken in a long time.

Earlier today, something surfaced online that perked ears up. It’s a Drake song called ‘Drop And Give Me 50’ where he’s going at Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Cash and a bunch more people. Of course, it’s 2024 so people immediately wondered if it was AI. While some are swearing that it is, some people think it’s a little too good to not be real. The inflections and tone in the bars sound exactly like Drake and the voice only sounds slightly robotic, perhaps because the leak isn’t in the highest quality.

If it is real, it’s exactly the kind of song that fans knew Drake could make, with ‘Back To Back’ and ‘Duppy Freestyle’ already in his arsenal. The title of the song seems to be a reference to Top Dawg supposedly getting 50% of Kendrick’s revenue despite him going independent. He also mentions Dot’s Pop features with Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift, denies him being in the big 3, goes at his height and sends a bunch of shots at Ross, Metro Cash and more. There’s also an interesting line where he alludes to Kendrick’s wife by name. We know how that went last time.

You can hear it below and decide for yourself. Hopefully whether it’s real or not, it gets confirmed soon.

The Alchemist Shares Original Beat for J. Cole’s ‘Stickz N Stonez’: Might Delete Later

J. Cole’s latest project, Might Delete Later, has been the topic of controversy and conversation for many. From Cole’s mixed feelings around the Kendrick snub, to the eventual takedown of ‘7 Minute Drill’ from streaming services — it is a project that continues to stir interesting conversations for the community.

Most recently however, it is The Alchemist’s contributions that have hip-hop heads talking about the project beyond the obvious hype.

The revered producer took to social media to reveal the original beat for the track ‘Stickz N Stones’, the official version of which is produced by himself in conjunction with producer Steve Bilodeau. He also teased the possibility of sending the original Alchemist version to DJs for alternative playing options for a live crowd.

While the released version boasts plucky strum based samples over boom bap breaks, the original beat seems to be a complete deviation in sonics, making extensive usage of a repeating keys-based motif on similarly patterned drums as the final cut.

The newly revealed original beat also seems to take a more minimal, bare-bones approach, almost devoid of the wind instrument section unlike in the final release. Of course, both instrumentals have been immaculately crafted to perfection in standard Alchemist fashion, which has left fans understandably divided between which the better choice is. The final cut can be streamed below!

J. Cole Removes Kendrick Lamar Diss Track ‘7 Minute Drill’ From Streaming Services

As he said he would to Ib at last weekend’s Dreamville Fest, J. Cole has removed ‘7 Minute Drill’ from streaming.

On Spotify and Apple Music, the song is greyed out so that it cannot be plated and it’s been completely removed from TIDAL. You can see screenshots below. This isn’t going to be a popular decision, but it’s interesting to see him stand by his word. How do you think this affects the future?

In case you missed it, Cole appeared on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You last night.

Yung Bleu Enlists Lil Wayne on Confirmation (Remix): Watch

Following up on the sonically exquisite 2023 single ‘Confirmation’ in excellent fashion, Yung Bleu has re-enlisted the skills of the legendary emcee Lil Wayne on his latest drop, the ‘Confirmation (Remix)’.

The skilful duo that was last heard together on ‘Soul Child’ in the 2022 release TANTRA, can be heard in their smoothest, most sensual zone yet, with visuals that match the sonic moodboard to a tee.

The special treat, however, is Lil Wayne ending the track with a guitar riff that he is seen playing with ease in the outro of the music video – watch here.

This Moon Boy University/ EMPIRE released project is also available for streaming now.

Russ To Release New Book ‘It Was You All Along’; Unveils Cover

Independent all-round musician and best-selling author, Russ, has just released his new book titled It Was You All Along, centered on self help and personal development. The book is a philosophical introspective foray into a bar from Russ’ first album that asks a pertinent question inspired by his mother – What if you’re the one you’ve been waiting for?

Following up on his best-selling writing debut that was It’s All in Your Head, the presumed sequel’s title is inspired by Russ’ 2024 North-American tour by the same name and makes clever use of his song titles as chapters. Published by HarperCollins, the book has already claimed the number 1 spot in the hip-hop/ rap writing section on Amazon and is ranked #8 globally. The book is also available in an audiobook format voiced by the artist himself.

The Weeknd Takes Shots at Drake On New Future Song: “Thank God I Never Signed My Life Away” ?

A$AP Rocky took a page out of Kendrick Lamar’s book and dissed Drake on the new Future and Metro Boomin album and it looks like The Weeknd has doubled down on what some considered support three weeks ago.

The Weeknd appears on multiple songs on the album, one of which is ‘All To Myself’. Fans have noted that he’s taking some fairly direct shots at Drake on there. He sings:

“They could never diss my brothers, baby
When they got leaks in they operation
I thank God that I never signed my life away
And we never do the big talk (No, no, no, no, no)
They shooters making TikToks
Got us laughin’ in the Lambo'”

Him saying he never signed his life away is a reference to signing to Warner Bros. and not OVO like some expected. Drake has addressed it, denying it was ever a source of their tension. Fans think the “shooters making TikToks” line is a reference to Baka ‘s TikTok which you can see here.

A$AP Rocky Disses Drake on Future’s New Song ‘Show of Hands’ — Listen

A lot of fans were excited for this week’s New Music Friday drops that happened about an hour ago because they were anticipating a diss track from Drake or another shot at him on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album We Still Don’t Trust You. The latter of those has occurred.

Although the features on the album are uncredited right now, A$AP Rocky appears on ‘Show of Hands’, which is track six on the second part of the new LP. Fans think a bunch of his lines are aimed at Drake and it’s hard to argue.

He raps:

“N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or something?
I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son
Still don’t trust you, it’s always us, never them
Heard you dropped your latest s**t
Funny how it just came and went”

Fans think he’s talking about some of Drake’s recent bars aimed at himself and Rihanna on For All The Dogs. Do you think Rocky will get some bars in the supposed Drake diss track?

Chris Brown dropped the deluxe edition of his 11:11 album last night and on a song called ‘Freak’, he sent some shots Quavo’s way, saying “f***ing my old b*****s ain’t gon’ make us equal, sipping that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Quavo, freak b***h, she like Casamigos not the Migos.” It seemingly referenced some issues that have been going on for years over Karrueche.

Rap hall of famer and Detroit legend Eminem has put on his producer hat once again, this time in an effort to focus on his fans from across the world in a brand new documentary.

In order to be a part of the documentary, fans of Eminem must head here and fill out a questionnaire that delves into understanding the nature of fandom around the rapper. The questionnaire is designed to explore the fan psyche around Eminem’s legacy, and the extent of his impact on the personal lived experiences of his fans.

From delving into fan’s favorite songs and their associations with it, to introspection and speculation around Eminem’s career break in 2005, the questionnaire seems to be a well rounded inquiry into understanding the ‘Stans.’ The best part? The form allows fans to submit videos of themselves talking about Eminem and the role he has played in their lives, with a promise of potential feature in the final cut.
