Former Hot 97 radio host Angie Martinez has started her new job at New York’s Power 105.1 and on her first day she got a call from Jay Z. Even thought Jay is on tour, he still found time to call Angie and wish her well. Jay also said to her “You’re an institution”, “were so proud of you.” Angie said his comments were overwhelming. Angie also received calls this month from other artist such as Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and P. Diddy. She is very humble by the support she has received. Angie, 43, has help a lot of local rappers gains success by playing their music. When she was 18 years old she started working at Hot 97 as an intern and she eventually worked her way up and out the door to competitor station New York’s Power 105.1.

Nicki Minaj is lending her vocal for a cartoon character

Nicki Minaj voice will be heard on the Cartoon Network series “Steven Universe”. The title of the show is “Coach Steven”, in a video clip you can here Nick voice a gigantic and powerful character called Sugilite, the result of fusion between two supporting character named Garnet and Amethyst. The two world defending gems decided to join force and summon Sugilite when faced with a critical task too large for either of them, though they’re were warn that Sugilite can be a little unstable. The episode will premiere on the “Cartoon Network” on August 21.

At the end of his performance Drake said “There’s only 2 Kings in this sh*t right now, and they are standing on this stage.” During Cole second performance Kendrick Lamar was also a guest performer.

French Montana will appear on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Montana said due to his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, he will appear on the upcoming season of the show. At first he told Khloe “he did not want to be on it, but telling her that is like trying to ruin her thing.”

Khloe and Montana recently did a joint interview together for the first time and the couple talked openly about their relationship. First of all Montana gave credit to Diddy for the love connection. Montana said “It was me, Gabby, Ross, Puff, Meek. Everybody was in the studio. Scott [Disick, Kourtney’s husband] was there. Scott was drunk. Study shows a lack of diversity among writers for HBO, Disney and MTV

A recent study by the Writer Guild Of America showed a lack of racial and gender diversity among writer for television networks including HBO, Disney and MTV. For the 2011-2012 television season only 30% of the writers were women and approximately 15% of the writers were minorities. The study looked at 28 television networks it showed that BET has the best diversity, 55% of the writer were women and 95% being minorities. 42% of MTV writers were women and 22% were minorities. Other networks such as FX, USA network, Fox, Cartoon network and HBO had under 22% women writers and minorities.

Tiny support Floyd Mayweather claim that his comments was misinterpreted

While on the Ricky Smiley show Tiny said she support Mayweather claim that his word were misinterpreted. In a recent interview it was thought that Mayweather said “what about the b*tch? I was f**king his b*tch.” but what he really said was “he thinks I was f**cking his b*tch.” Here is what Tiny said “I went back to it because first of all that is so untrue. I could just not imagine him saying, “Oh yeah, I did that.” So, I had to go back, put my earbuds on so I could really, really hear. When he says it he said, “He thought,” but when he says it his head is kind of like turned to the side. But if you look at his mouth, his mouth is moving. He’s saying, “He thought.” So, he didn’t really say that for real, for real. Everybody took it and the press, that’s what they do. But he didn’t say that ’cause that never happened. He’s never been in a room with me by myself. Anytime that he’s been around me it’s been people like this. So I couldn’t imagine him saying, “Yeah, I did that.”

Coolio denies being signed by porn site

Coolio say he has not signed with Pornhub, the rapper from California said he just created a promo song for them and that he is not trying to make a comeback off of pornography. Matthew Blake is the Marketing and Communication manager for the site said “We met Colio and discussed the idea of him recording a song and us producing and exclusively releasing the music video. While on the shoot we talked about the idea of Colio working with us for future projects. The ideal would have to be beneficial for both sides, but Colio was great to work with and we’re all incredibly excited to see the finished project.”

Minister Louis Farrakhan speaks about Jay Electronica, Jay Z and The Nation of Islam

Minister Louis Farrakhan was in attendance at the 10th annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. While there he got a chance to see Jay Z and Jay Electronica perform. After his performance Electronica recieved some critism for using profanity while wearing the Fruit of Islam (FOI) uniform. Louis comment on the situation he said “very proud of the Fruit of Islam (F.O.I.) and the Believers who stood with Brother Jay Electronica as he delivered what he delivered to the people” at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Farrakhan also admits that Jay Electronica was not “perfect in his representation” of the Islamic beliefs, but reasoned why it was acceptable: “I humbly and respectfully ask: Has any of us who have accepted Islam and its required high degree of moral excellence and civilization ever said or done anything that is less than representative of what we believe? I am sure that all of us, if we are honest, would have to say that we have.”

Talk show host Jimy Kimmel had recently asked Snoop is he ever smoked in the The White House. Snoop had this to say “In the bathroom” Not in the White House, but in the bathroom. Snoop asked “May I use the bathroom for a second?” They said “what are you going to do #1 or #2?” Snoop said “#2 when I do #2 I usually have a cigarette or light something to get the aroma right.” And they said “you know what? you can light a piee of napkin.” I said I’ll do that. Later in the show Jimmy joked the ABC doesn’t allow it host to smoke marijuana on television, alluding to Snoop smoking on the show.

Ice Cube received backlash over “Drop Girl” track

Ice Cube has a new track that receiving backlash from a few fans. The song in question is “Drop Girl” which is a collaboration with 2 Chainz and Redfoo. A few fan made a comment about the “Drop Girl video, she said “damn what a stupid song, why did Ice Cube have to do this sh*t it useless. Another fan said “it rotten” and the third person who made a comment said “hilarious. 2 stars for being funny.”

Ice Cube respond to the criticism by saying ” “To my hardcore fans, it’s only one song,” says in a video the rapper posted on Instagram. “When you see your girl dance to this shit, you’ll love me again.” It’s a dope record,” he said. “It’s Ice Cube. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel at all. I’m just trying to be up to date with my topics and my flow.”

Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar talks about his new album

A few weeks ago West gave club goers a sneak preview of his songs on his upcoming album. Some club goers enjoyed the new tracks while other said it was different but they liked it. West had this to say about his latest project. I think about certain lines that I say on my new single, which is called “All Day,” that usually Jay would say, but Jay’s not on there. So I say, ‘All day, n***a, it’s Ye, n***a. Shopping for the winter, it’s just May, n***a. Ball so hard, man, this shit cray, n***a. You ain’t getting money unless you got eight figures.’ Right? Jay would have said that. And then eventually I would have came in with, like, whatever I come in with. But the balance of a meal is that when people walk in, they want water first. People definitely weren’t getting water first on Yeezus. I do fight with myself to say, “Keep fighting.” But also, you know, you can’t win every single fight. It’s a long war, and if you’re out there trying to, like, blow up every single building, you won’t win the war. The first single for the album will be release in a few weeks, he is not sure when the album is going to be release.

West had said in an interview he is not upset with Jay Z for not showing up at the wedding, he even praised Jay for Their “Watch The Throne” collaboration, West said “That’s what I like about Jay. Kendrick Lamar new album

Two years ago Kendrick Lamar released his debut album “good kid, mA.A.d city” Lamar is currently working on his new album. He reportedly has recorded 30 to 40 song for the album. Lamar do not feel pressure to match what he accomplished with his last album. He said “If I keep focusing on, ‘I need to make something better than good kid,’ it’s going to be just that,” says Kendrick. “That’s not challenging yourself. I don’t want to become that person reflecting on what has been done. What I’m doing now is the question. I’m only as good as my last word, my last hook, my last bridge.” The album do not have a title yet, and it will be released this year.

Master P Biopic is going to be a trilogy

Master P has decided to turn his biography into a trilogy. The name of the 3 part movies is “The Ice Cream Man”, “TRU” and “No Limit The Empire”.

“Ice Cream Man” is the introduction to the three piece movie.

“TRU” the second part will show a glimpse of how the Miller brothers come together to form one of the most influential groups in Hip Hop.

“No Limit The Empire” Tell how Master P and his artist controlled a large share of the music industry. Making No Limit Records the most powerful and successful record company in the industry.

The 1st of the trilogy “Ice Cream Man will start production in 2015, the 2nd “TRU” will start production in 2016 and the 3rd “No Limit The Empire will start production in 2017.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather said he had sex with T.I. wife Tiny

On July 18th during a press conference to promote his upcoming fight with Marcos Maidana the boxer admitted he had sex with T.I. wife Tameka Harris aka Tiny and that is why him and the rapper had fought. Mayweather was asked about T.I. he replied “I f**ked the bitch.” He went on to say “I was f**king his bitch. No one was expecting to hear his confession at a press conference. On July 19th the boxer went on Instagram and denied saying that he admitted to sleeping with Tiny. He said at the conference he said “he thinks I was f**king his bitch, I did not say I was f**king his bitch”.

Maybach Music Group artist(s) in trouble with the law: Meek Mills will remain in jail until September/Omarion arrested

Meek Mills lawyer submitted a request to the judge asking him to allow Mills to get out of jail early his request was denied. The rapper has been locked up since July 11th for a number of parole violation and he will remain there until September. Mills lawyer said “All I’m asking for is a hearing to learn why (his jailing) is constitutional and they won’t even give me that.” “The last thing I want to do is go running to another judge to tell another judge what to do. But we have no choice.” Mill will have to file a request through his lawyer that will have the court go to a higher level judge to override the original judge.

Omarion arrested

Singer/actor Omarion was served with an arrest warrant and then arrested on Friday. The singer was in San Fernando Valley lateFriday morning and was pulled over for running a stop sign. Once the officer ran his license it revealed there was a warrant for arrest for failure to appear in court for a traffic ticket. Omari Grandberry, 29 aka Omarion was cuffed and taken to jail, he is being held on a $20,000 bond.
