As many people know YG dropped a new track featuring Nipsey Hussle called “Fuck Donald Trump” and he recently performed a little of the song on his Coachella set. He later spoke with Complex about the track. “That’s the type of shit that we gonna have to deal with. We knew that and we dealt with it, we speaking for a lot of people who are not really speaking up or they got nobody in no situation that’s really gonna put it all on the line for they race they culture. We feel a similar way everyone else feels. We just took it on the chest. Like, ‘Look, This is what we about to do. We gonna speak on it.’ Fuck whatever consequences and all of that. We gonna deal with it.”

John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen had their first child enter the world and they made the announcement via Instagram and Twitter. They had a baby girl named Luna Simone Stephens on April 14 and just today decided to share it with the world. “Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14. We couldn’t be happier!” John Legend tweeted out.

Drake is known to dabble in other business ventures other then music which he is still at the top of right now. The latest venture is Drake’s own Virginia Black Whiskey which he teased to his fans on his Instagram showing a really 70’s looking bottle of whiskey. Make sure to check out his post below with the tease of the tv ad for the whiskey but just know there is no release date for it yet but it is a pretty fitting business venture for Drake.

Every year XXL Freshman puts up 10 rap artist they believe are the next to make it big in the industry or have a major buzz. This year it appears Tory Lanez was offered a spot on the cover since he is a pretty well known artist making waves this year but sadly he has decided to decline the offer. Tory actually took to his Twitter to make the announcement today letting all his fans know what’s up saying “I passed on the XXL cover. Don’t b confused” now this may not be all bad though because Drake and PartyNextDoor also declined the very same offer and are doing very well for themselves.

It has been a minute since we got a Common album but it looks like the fans will soon have another album to add to the collection. In a brand new interview on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” Common actually announced that he is working on his eleventh studio album which is pretty exciting. The last album from Common came out in 2014 so it is about time and it is much needed.

 

Slick was born in Britain but happened to be raised in Brooklyn and he has just recently became an official American citizen. What slowed his path to citizenship was him pleading guilty to two counts of attempted murder way back in 1991 which lead to a six year prison sentence. This understandably made thing difficult for him. With this new citizenship, Rick will be allowed to travel out of the country freely without being turned away which will be great for him and his family.

Many people have seen the video that surfaced online showing Kevin Gates kicking a female fan during one of his shows and now Gates is claiming self defense. This went down in a club last August in Lakeland, FL and the woman kicked was 18 year old Miranda Dixon after she had pulled on Gates shorts. Gates wants the case dismissed but if it goes on he is going to be using “Stand Your Ground” law to try and win the case. Make sure to check back here for any updates as they become known.

Lupe Fiasco made a bold statement earlier on in the year saying that he would drop a whole three studio albums. The albums Lupe said he would drop would be DROGAS, SKULLS, and Roy in that order but now Lupe has taken to his Twitter to give fans an update. The update is as follows for albums dropping this year DROGAS, DROGAS light* and then SKULLS. So Roy has been scrapped and now SKULLS will be Lupes final album.

Kendrick Lamar is now being sued for a track off of his self titled EP that he had dropped way back in 2009. This lawsuit was made by Mattie Music Group and they own the rights to the song “Don’t You Want to Stay” which is a Bill Withers song that came out in 1975. Their reason for the suit is because they believe that Kendrick sampled the track on his song “I Do This” illegally. The music group even believe that nothing else was added and Kendrick just laid down vocals on their instrumental outright. Ian Connor a stylist for A$AP had been accused of sexual assault just last week but he quickly took to twitter to refute the accusations so there was not legit source on any of it. But today the DeKalb County Police Department has reported that a report was indeed filed back on December 16, 2015 that shows that it is all legit and now the case is officially open. So right now Connor has multiple accusers calling him a serial rapist and he has not yet made official comment on it but continues to say he is innocent over twitter. Azealia Banks is no stranger to beef so hearing that she went at Wale over Twitter pretty hard should be no surprise. It is also well known that Wale is a pretty emotional and outspoken individual so when the two clash things can get pretty crazy. Everything began from a tweet Azealia Banks posted saying that she does not feel safe and protected by black men and black media and this got Wale’s attention pretty quickly. “we are all terrified of you . Public embarrassment is a real fear . U prolly have thousands of ppl scared to say anything 2u” Wale posted in reply to Banks. This lead to a pretty heavy argument which got Banks trending on Twitter for saying pretty horrible things in some tweets that are now of course deleted. Things like hoping Wale is put in jail and her calling him the n-word in various post sounding like the a very racist person. Though she has deleted most of the evidence you can still find them online with a quick search.

As you may well know Afrika Bambaattaa has been accused of molesting a boy years ago when he was in his early 20’s. Now Afrika has come out denying these allegations “I, Afrika Bambaataa, want to take this opportunity at the advice of my legal counsel to personally deny any and all allegations of any type of sexual molestation of anyone, these allegations are baseless and are a cowardly attempt to tarnish my reputation and legacy in hip-hop at this time. This negligent attack on my character will not stop me from continuing my battle and standing up against the violence in our communities, the violence in the nation and the violence worldwide.” Now nothing can really be done even if Afrika did do it because of the New York Statute of Limitations which has it so child sexual abuse victims cant actually take legal action after their 23^rd birthday which is what Ronald Savage, Bambaataa alleged victim is fighting to have changed using his story as the way to do it. Director Peter Berg, who directed the movie “Battleship” that starred Rihanna is now make a documentary about her. The documentary will be simply titled “Rihanna” and it will be in a similar style to the Bob Dylan documentary from way back in 1967. Bergs company had this to say about the project “Follow this true international superstar as she navigates life as an artist, businesswoman, and humanitarian, while contending with the inherent pressure of artistic freedom. Peter Berg’s “Rihanna” is an unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon, providing a glimpse into the evolution of one of the world’s most well-known pop artists.” Now documentary’s like these from really young people don’t usually do very well but we’ll see how this one does.

Back in February Ciara went and decided to sue Future for $15 million for slander and now it looks like Future is ready to fight back. TMZ is reporting that future is suing Ciara right back for talking bad about him all over the media and wants her to pay all the legal fees he must pay because of her lawsuit against him. Just recently Arnold Schwarzenegger made a really controversial choice in lower the sentence of Esteben Nunez who had been in prison serving a 16 year sentence for stabbing and killing a college student. Now this happened way back in 2011 and Arnold has just come clean saying that he did it as a favor because Esteben Nunez is his friends child. Now this is even bigger news because the guy had just got out of prison last week. People are furious about this and Snoop Dogg is one of those people who took to his Instagram to post a few videos with some harsh words for Schwarzenegger. “How the fuck you gonna let this nigga out of jail but you gonna kill Tookie Williams? Cause homeboy was your friend, you’s one motherfucking racist piece of shit” Snoop said in his clips. As you can see he is not happy at all about this situation and it really is a messed up one.
