As previously reported the United Kingdom’s Glastonbury festival has been the subject of a lot of internet controversy for giving Kanye West a headlining act. People even got a petition up to nearly 100,000 signatures trying to stop Kanye from performing. But yesterday the festivals organizer Emily Eavis had a letter published to The Guardian that was in response to the petition. Emily right from the jump dismisses the Kanye haters saying "We think the story this year should not be: 'Why is Kanye coming?' but: 'How amazing is it that Kanye is coming?'” adding that he is a "music legend, always interesting, never boring." Eavis ends it with this "Those [headlining] acts have never have been limited to rock and never will be." It is a great thing that this letter was published and shows that Glastonbury will not back away from their commitments because of the vocal minority on the internet.
