Freddie Gibbs Found Not Guilty In Rape Case

Freddie Gibbs is a free man. A Vienna Austria high court has found Gibbs not guilty of the alleged rape he was accused of over a year ago.  The Gary, Indiana rapper was found not guilty by the European court, according to a statement provided to HipHopDX from his attorney.  Gibbs was charged with “sexual abuse of a defenseless or psychologically impaired person” after allegedly drugging and raping a woman while on tour in Austria in July 2015. He was arrested in France during his tour this past June and later extradited to Austria where he was officially charged with rape.  In August, he was released on bail.  If found guilty, Gibbs would have faced up to 10 years in a foreign jail.  The 34-year-old maintained his innocence throughout the process.

It’s yet to be seen how the allegations will affect the artist's career. Freddie and his family look forward to returning to the States so he can resume his life and career.
