L.A. Reid worked at Def Jam for seven years and in that time he worked with some huge names in the music industry. One of his many accomplishments he takes credit for is reviving Mariah Carey’s career when it was not in such a great place which lead to her very successful comeback album titled “The Emancipation of Mimi”. Reid was on the Rap Radar just this week and talked about all of that and brought up something pretty amazing. Mariah gave Reid some great advice in suggesting that he hire Jay Z on as the president of Def Jam. Jay was the president of Def Jam from 2004 until 2008 and made Rihanna’s successful career what it is today in the process.
