Kanye West saying he is going to run for president in the year 2020 has made a lot of people outside of the hip-hop universe turn their heads and see whats up. The New Yorker will feature Kanye West on the cover which will be the first rapper ever depicted on the prestigious magazines cover. The cover is comical because it has a water colored Kanye celebrating beating Donald Trump while holding up a newspaper that reads “TRUMP DEFEATS KANYE” which copies a famous photo of Harry Truman holding up the Chicago Tribune with the headline “DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN”. Illustrator of the image, Barry Blitt, says this “When one considers Mr. West, it doesn’t take a whole lot of imagination to be reminded of another scrappy kid who won the Presidency, back in 1948, against all odds. The press wrote him off, too. That’s right—Harry Truman.”
