Nicki Minaj’s hit single “Anaconda” did not get a Video Music Award nomination this year and Minaj was not happy about it. Nicki took to twitter to saying "Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it, if your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year". Taylor Swift who was nominated for her hit song “Bad Blood” felt that Nicki was throwing shade directly at her and tweeted out "I've done nothing but love & support you, it's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.." Though Minaj quickly replied saying that Taylor was not the target of her tweets but it seems pretty obvious that it was.
