Ja Rule & Ashanti will be going on a throwback tour together

If you are looking for a true throwback in hip-hop then you will soon be able to see Ja Rule & Ashanti on a world tour. The two will also have a film together called “Natural Born Killers” and they said the the film is going to be a cross between the 1994 film Oliver Stone and A Star Is Born. Hopefully these two pull these projects off and get their careers a little closer to how they were way back in 2001. Childish Gambino was actually booed off the stage in Australia

Childish Gambino is not someone who is booed normally and is actually very well respected in the rap community. This was not the case though when Childish did a show at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle, Australia. The show was supposed to be more then an hour but he is said to have not said a word for nearly 40 whole minutes spending a lot of time sitting near the back of the stage and getting on the turntables while some members of his crew rapped to his lyrics. Promotion is said to have been mixed up and it wasn’t a Childish Gambino show but a Childish Gambino DJ set so he cancelled his next show and hopefully things get cleared up.

T.I. has signed a new acting deal with Warner Bros.

T.I. has now signed a acting deal with Warner Bros. television so it seems like we will be seeing more of Tip on the small screen. T.I. still has his successful show on VH1 called “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle” which has just recently wrapped up its fifth season. It will be interesting to see if T.I.’s acting career will get any better but only time can tell so keep it locked for updates.

Nas Honored with W.E.B. Du Bois Medal from Harvard

Nas later expressed the importance of the medal and how thankful he was to have earned it: “These are the things the kids need to see. The real things,” he said. “This is a light I want on me. I hope that I can be a great role model for those kids…you can be more than the typical image of rap.”

Nas wrote on Instagram: “Historic night for the rap game. At the Hutchins Center Honors for the W. E. B. Du Bois Medal ceremony. This is a first for the Rap Game to receive this award but, definitely not the last. Thank you.”

Fresh out of Prison, DMX discusses his plans to get back in the studio in recent interviews: “I’mma make it although it looks rough. I get a little scared,” he said earnestly. “Sometimes shook up. When it’s like that, I get on my knees and look up. Only thing I hate about being famous…you never know who really loves you because everybody is there,” he explained. “Everybody’s there. If their love never gets tested, you never know.

“I take what I been through,” he continued. “Capture it. Capture it and give it away and because I give it away I benefit from it. Then people come and say, ‘Yo, this song did this. Thank you.'”

Special Ed Discusses Authenticity during “The Golden Era” of Hip Hop

Interviewers asked Special Ed, a Hip Hop artist, about the best era of Hip Hop: “It was the idea of just living and having everything that you may want or having your life situated to where it’s comfortable. To me, my idea and someone else’s idea of comfortable may be different. Somebody might need a gold medallion to feel comfortable. I might need a house to feel comfortable.”

Many have wanted to see Three 6 Mafia reunite, DJ Paul tells reporters that there is a slight possibility of a reunion happening: “It would be hard to do,” he says. “It would be real hard to do, but you can’t have it all.” “These days everybody’s style has changed so much,” he says. “I don’t think that everybody would agree on the style of the songs that would be chosen. A lot of people haven’t talked to each other in a long time,” he says. “Now I can’t speak for everybody, but I can say that I’m still cool with everybody. I still talk to J [Juicy J], I still talk to Koop [Koopsta Knicca], I talk to [Gangsta] Boo here and there, and I still talk to Crunchy [Black]. A lot of those guys haven’t talked in years. So, I can’t say what their situation would be like.”

TIDAL concert will have Jay Z, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and more performing

TIDAL is really trying to get on the peoples good side and has recently reached the 1 million user mark and it is now known that they will be celebrating that accomplishment on October 20th in Brooklyn. Details have been released today and the concert is happening at Barclays and is going to be called “TIDAL X: 1020”. Performers featured are Jay Z, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, T.I., Usher, Damien Marley, Prince, and more which is a crazy roster for one show. Tickets range from $74 to $244 and will only be available to subscribers of the service today and everyone else must wait until October 2nd to get tickets. All earnings from this show will be going to the New World Foundation which has the goal “benefit nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing positive community relations and effecting systemic change for the development and sustainability of just societies, this inaugural event’s philanthropic focus.” This is a pretty awesome event but will it get more people into TIDAL like they hope it will, only time will tell.

Tyler, The Creator has launched a new animated show called “The Jellies”

Tyler, The Creator is always expanding his brand and now has a brand new show called “The Jellies” which is an animated series. The series is made by Augenblick studios and is about the adventures of a 16-year-old kid named Cornell Jelly which happens to be a human raised by a jellyfish family. Already this sounds like one of Tylers wacky ideas and fans of his are sure to love it especially with Tylers co-writing and voice work personally going into the series. Check out the trailer below.

Chris Brown wants to raise awareness for domestic abuse in Australia

As everyone knows by now Australia is on the fence about letting Chris Brown into the country because of his past antics. Brown took to his twitter to say that he would not mind publicly speaking about domestic abuse saying the following. “My life mistakes should be a wake up call for everyone, showing the world that mistakes don’t define you. Trying to prevent spousal abuse”. Chris ends it by saying the youth listen to the entertainers and look up to them and he has the power to change lives.

Nicki Minaj is going to be producing a new comedy show on ABC about her life

50 Cent isn’t the only rapper with their hand in network television deals. Nicki Minaj is trying to build her brand beyond music as well and will be executive producing her own show on ABC Family which will be a comedy based on her life growing up in queens. “This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on, I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.” Nicki said when speaking about the venture she is going on. No cast members have been announced yet but the pilot for the show will begin filming in the winter so keep it locked for any updates.

Kid Cudi says his upcoming album “Speedin’ Bullet To Heaven” will be a double-disc album

Kid Cudi’s next album “Speedin’ Bullet To Heaven” is well on the way and fans can not be more excited for some more music from him. Last night Cudi gaving fans an update on the album saying that it will be a double-disc album but the second disc will be a bunch of extra unreleased jams with demos and things that didn’t just make the cut which is pretty cool. The album release date is rumored to be announced later on this week and the album seems like it could be right around the corner.

50 Cent will soon be producing more shows for Starz

Coming off of the huge success that is 50 Cents show “Power” Starz network wants him to produce more show. 50 has announcement that he has signed a deal with Starz to do just that saying “Starz has been the perfect partner to make Power the success that it is and I am looking forward to developing many more record-breaking series with them,” 50 said while talking to Deadline about his two year contract with the network.

Jay Z announced that TIDAL has reached 1 million subscribers

TIDAL has finally reached 1 million subscribers according to Jay Z though many people still speak quite poorly of the service over social media. TIDAL has one thing over thier competition at this time and that is exclusive content from the artist who it is partnered with but it is hardly enough to make a person want to pay what they ask a month. Jay Z took to his twitter today to announce the 1 million subscribers and also announced he plans to celebrate it by having an event on October 20th in Brooklyn but gave no details so keep it locked for any updates about it in the coming weeks.
