Jay Z is going to be launching a interview series that takes place in his 40/40 club in Manhattan New York. The show is to be broadcasts digitally through Sports Illustrated and is to be hosted by WNBA player Skylar Diggins. Celebrities from music, sports and more will be featured on the talk show. Jay Z keeps adding more business ventures to his long list which is pretty impressive but whether it works out remains to be seen.
Over the past weekend tons of celebrities made their way to Vegas to see the big Mayweather V. Pacquiao fight. Chris Brown was one of the celebrities in Vegas and got into a fight on basketball court and is now, according to reports, a suspect for battery after a fight broke out on the court. The story is that Chris and his people were playing basketball at 3:42 AM and he got into an argument with one of the other players and a fight broke out with Chris supposedly punching the other guy. Police were called and cops gave him two options which were to sign a citation for a misdemeanor battery or he could show up to court to face the charge or it could end up going to the D.A. who would decide if charges would be pressed. Chris Brown really needs to keep himself out of trouble this is getting pretty ridiculous.
Remember that story about a lawsuit Tyga was in from his ex-landlord well Tyga caught wind of TMZ’s story and wasn’t to pleased. Tyga took to twitter with some harsh words for the celebrity gossip website. “Stop w all these fabricated @tmz stories. People believe anything they say like real news your not @cnn its not real journalism.”Tyga said in his first tweet then added in another “If I ever did owe $ to a house I lived in 6 years ago, why sue me 6yrs later.smh.lies. People will sue u for anything when u get famous.” Finally Tyga ends his tweets with “Stop being lazy get up off ya ass and go make ya own. All these freeloaders w they hands out. As previously reported Kanye West announced his album title would be “So Help Me God” but Kanye has now decided to change the title. Via twitter Kanye announced the new title of his album would be SWISH. On twitter he said the new title but then a minute late said "I might change it again." So who knows if this will end up being the official title of the album but we’ll see what Ye decides to do.
Beyonce has signed a few teens to her company, Parkwood Entertainment, but unlike everything else that her company has created like Cadillac Records and Obsessed and Beyonces own albums and music videos they really haven’t been dealing with other musical artist until now. Beyonce signed two Baily sisters and one 14 year old Sophie Beem for a whopping $1.5 million. The Baily girls have over 500,000 subscribers on youtube so Beyonce isn’t just picking anyone to be representing her company. Only time will tell if these investments pay off for Beyonce.
As reported a while back De La Soul is making a comeback into the music scene via a Kickstarter campaign. Today the Kickstarter wrapped up for their project with a final backing of $600,829 from a total of 11,169 backers. The group at only wanted to raise $110,000 at first but ended up with an astounding $180,974 after just 24 hours. "We are now in the process of going back to that 200+ hours of music, listening, enjoying and discovering those special moments where, musically, something magical happens, where interesting sounds and layers were forgotten, where new sounds can be sampled, looped, chopped, filtered and arranged, freely, without the intrusive presence of publishing politics and the infamous 'sample police.'" The group posted on their Kickstarter. So it seems De La Soul still has hardcore fans willing to shell out a ton of money for them to continue making music and we can’t wait to see what they deliver in the near future.
One of the original members of the Hot Boys, Turk, recently filed a lawsuit against Cash Money for $1.3 million with the deadline being March 11th and Birdman got an extension of one month. April 11th came and went and Turk got no response from Cash Money. Now just a few days ago Turk filed a default motion against Cash Money and if it is granted Turk will be awarded the money without ever going to trail. And now the Judge has granted Turk default which means Cash Money will be ordered to pay him the $1.3 million.
Lil Durk and Chief Keef are both out of Chicago and got popular for the drill style music that has become popular in rap today. They both got deals and just stopped making music with each other but that seems to have changed now. Plus if there was beef between the two it seems to be over with because both Chi town rappers where spotted in the studio together. Durk has already showed a track list and it doesn't feature Keef but that doesn't mean they we’re working on a new Chief Keef project. Fans of either artist should be pretty excited about this news. If you think back about a month ago there was the news that Tyga was served court papers while at a shoe signing and it was all caught on tape by TMZ. Now we are finally figuring out what the reason for this actually was. An ex-landlord of Tyga says that he owes over $120,000 from when he rented a house in Calabasas back in 2010. Tyga has missed the court date that was on his serving papers which ends up costing him another thousand. So all in all Tyga is being hunted by his ex-landlord for a sum total of $124,000 and is threatening to get an arrest warrant if Tyga refuses to pay up. No word from Tyga or any of his people but keep it right here for any updates.
A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated sophomore album A.L.L.A. has finally got a release date as A$AP sits down with Billboard magazine for an interview and also lands the cover of the issue. In the interview Rocky says that the album will be coming out on May 12th though there is no official announcement he did say it in the interview so we can be pretty confident that it is the actual release date. In the interview Rocky also talks about how he only liked two songs on Kendrick Lamars latest album which is pretty crazy with all the love the album is getting from everyone else. Hopefully Rocky’s sophomore album delivers in the same way as the first but we’ll have to wait just a few more days to find out.
After an autopsy report, State’s Attorney has ruled Freddie Gray’s death a homicide and all six cops involved have been charged. The 25 year old man Freddie Gray was the reason there have been protests and riots in the streets of Baltimore the past few days. CNN is reporting that some of the charges include second-degree depraved-heart murder, manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, and second-degree assault. Of course the police union is opposing the charges and argues that the six officers aren’t responsible for Freddie Gray’s death. Keep it right here for further updates on this ongoing situation.
Yung Joc was pulled over by the police yesterday because he was speeding in Atlanta. But he speeding was just the beginning of his problems because after being pulled over the cops found out Joc was driving with a suspended license plus there was already a warrant out for his arrest. Though we don’t know what the arrest warrant was for it was more than enough to land him in jail. As more information comes to light we will keep you updated on what is happening.
Dame Dash took to Instagram taking the beef between him and his ex out of the courtrooms and into social media. One of his posts read "What kind of woman would try to put the father of their son Who just gave them 120 grand for a house outside of child support so his son would live the right way in jail over 23 grand and why is donell Suarez representing both of my baby mothers ..." and in another he said "Can you believe there is an order of protection against me and my kids?... What kind of woman would take there children out of a loving protective environment with a good father for money?.... What kind of lawyer would advise their client to do this to there children so they can get legal fees there is a warrant for my arrest because I want to raise my children..." This is all following Dame Dash losing the custody of his kids to his Ex.
Suge Knight was today denied a reduction of his $10 million bail but it seems like this might not be a problem anymore. Suge Knights lawyer named Matt Fletcher let loose that Floyd Mayweather may be putting the $10 million if he defeats Manny Pacquiao in the big highly anticipated upcoming boxing match. Floyd Mayweather is estimated to make $180 million off this fight no matter what way it goes so $10 million really wouldn’t change much for Floyd. “My understanding is that Suge’s going to be bailed out this coming week. We think Mr. Mayweather is going to win the championship and then come champion the day again. They’re good friends and there’s no reason he shouldn’t and we believe that will happen.” Fletcher said while talking with New York Daily News. After the funeral of Freddie Gray, a young black male killed by police, protest had taken place in Baltimore but with them came riots and people destroy a lot of property. Young Thug took to Instagram and had some words to share about the situation. "War, rage, chaos: it's the only thing needed in Baltimore right now. I wish I was from there, better yet, I wish I was there. I would go 730 with everybody out there, I promise. Fuck the cops. Black lives matter. Pray for my people." Thug said.
