Remy Ma finally release from prison

On August 1st Female rapper Remy Ma released from prison after serving six years of an eight year sentence at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for shooting a member of her entourage in 2007 over missing $3,000. Her husband showed up at the facility on July 31st her original release date but he was told that she would remain in custody due to disciplinary action. Official at the facility said she is was being held due to a "third party call" which took place on July 21st. That is the same day the rapper call Power 105 Angie Martinez and told her that she was excited to get back to work. Luckily Remy only remain locked up an extra day. Her husband rapper Papoose post this message on Instagram "Congratulations to the #Queen happy 2c you walk out that cage!!!!!!!!!!" "Time 2 begin a new chapter It's your time."

Kanye West win suit against “Bitcoin” but the fight might not be over

Kanye West has won a lawsuit against Bitcoin Cyrptocurrencty the creator of "Coinye". The coin maker place the likeness of West on their digital money. The coin first appeared in January but quickly shut down after West file a cease-and-desist order and sued the large group defendant for unspecified damages.

After the lawsuit "Coinye" temporary shut down, the maker of the coin change the logo on the coin from West face wearing his trademark sunglasses to West looking like a cartoon fish. After the logo change West was fed up he amended his suit to include over 100 defendant with most of the people being listed as John/Jane Does. In the end only three defendants David Mcenery, Harry Willis and Richard Mccord settled with West. A few defendants lost the suit by default, because they failed to respond.

Although the West won in U.S. District Court it has not stop the "Coinye" phenomenon, there are other brand using the Kanye name likeness such as "Coinyecoin.org and Coinyethecoin.com

Lil Eazy E is not acting in NWA bio movie

Ice Cube is the executive producer of the NWA film his son will be portraying him and the film, Cube explain why Lil Eazy will not be portraying his dad in the movie. In a interview Ice Cube said ""He’s an up-and-coming actor trying to do it," Cube said in an interview with Colorado radio station KS 107.5, according to AllHipHop, "but we needed somebody who was a little more polished to play Eazy, because he goes through a lot in his life. He goes from selling dope in Compton to fighting for his life in a hospital bed. So we needed to find an actor with a lot of range. And we just couldn’t use just anybody. We gave him a shot, and it just didn’t work out."

Lil Eazy E said " "I wish I could have got [the part]," he said. "I don't think anybody can do it better. It's what I've been doing for the past 10 years of my career. I came out on Hip Hop Honors years ago and performed in front of Cube and Russell Simmons and they told me I was a striking resemblance."

Even though he is not in the movie Lil Eazy E plan on supporting the film.

Fat Joe explains why he wanted to punch Mark Cuban/Talk about letter he received from Michael Jordan

Fat Joe who is a sneakerhead licked the bottom of his Olympic 6 Jordan's on an 2004 episode of MTV Crib. In 2013 Joe had to serve four months in prison for back taxes, while he was incarcerated he received a letter from Michael Jordan. There was an All Star Game auction of Jordan's by his airness himself that almost lead Joe to punch Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban. Apparently Cuban out bid Joe at the shoe auction afterward, Mark went up to Joe and said "I’m gonna throw it in my closet with the rest of the stuff." Joe said "I wanted to punch Mark Cuban in the face. ‘You motherf—er.’ I’m over here thinking, ‘This is it. This is like the Picasso of sneakers."

R. Kelly removes himself from music festival

Singer R. Kelly was recently removed himself from "Fashion Meet Music Festival" in Columbus, Ohio after people protest the fact that he was included. Radio station WBCE withdrew their sponsorship from the festival because of Kelly presents at the festival. Local artist from Ohio voice their displeasure of Kelly being included at the festival. One group who opposed said it was due to "his very serious allegation of sexual violence and assault." Festival organizers spoke about how criticism force Kelly to leave the lineup:

There was a lot of back and forth on the criticism we did receive, but then also looking at [Kelly] as an artist,” a rep for the fest told Columbus Alive. “Then truly the last few weeks…the festival has taken a lot of heat, and we really just wanted to listen to Columbus and really take a stance and move forward.

R. Kelly released this statement “R. Kelly is sorry to disappoint his fans, but looks forward to seeing them in the near future during one of his upcoming tours.”

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis collaborate with Fences on single “Arrows

On July 29th a new collaborative single by Fences (alternative group from Seattle), Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will premiere on a Seattle radio station. The song "Arrows" is packed with emotion and it could push the alternative band into Hot 100 territory. Christopher Mansfield who is at the helm of the group has work with Macklemore before, the two met years ago while hanging around Seatle, Mansfield also co-wrote a song on Macklemore 2012 album "The Heist" (10,000 hour"). Mansfield said part of the reason he wanted Macklemore on the song is because he speaks his mind about the fact that he doesn't always feel like he has control over his story.

Mackelmore said "Fences is a good friend", he f**ked in the same way the i'm f**cked. Because of that, our lives relate beyond music. Wiz Khalifa thinks Tyga excuse for dropping out of concert tour was “Corny”

Over two months ago it was announced that Wiz Khalifa and Tyga was going on tour together. The tour title "The Under The Influence kicked on on July 24th in Scanton, Pennsylvania at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain without Tyga. Two week before the tour kick off Wiz inform the public on "Twitter" that Tyga was dropping out of the tour. Tyga took to "Twitter" shortly after Wiz post and said the reason he dropped out was because he had to finish his album and film a movie, Wiz think his excuse was "Corny". During an interview on July 25th with Power 99 Wiz said "Tyga never informed him of his departure from the tour. Wiz said " personally I felt like that was just corny. We’re better than that. At the end of the day, you don’t say ‘album and a movie’ to sound like you have something to do, ’cause I did my album before the tour and I’m shooting a movie once I get off tour and I got a son. So, at the end of the day, what do you want to do with your life?

Jay Z comments to radio host Angie Martinez

Former Hot 97 radio host Angie Martinez has started her new job at New York's Power 105.1 and on her first day she got a call from Jay Z. Even thought Jay is on tour, he still found time to call Angie and wish her well. Jay also said to her "You're an institution", "were so proud of you." Angie said his comments were overwhelming. Angie also received calls this month from other artist such as Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and P. Diddy. She is very humble by the support she has received. Angie, 43, has help a lot of local rappers gains success by playing their music. When she was 18 years old she started working at Hot 97 as an intern and she eventually worked her way up and out the door to competitor station New York's Power 105.1.

Nicki Minaj is lending her vocal for a cartoon character

Nicki Minaj voice will be heard on the Cartoon Network series "Steven Universe". The title of the show is "Coach Steven", in a video clip you can here Nick voice a gigantic and powerful character called Sugilite, the result of fusion between two supporting character named Garnet and Amethyst. The two world defending gems decided to join force and summon Sugilite when faced with a critical task too large for either of them, though they're were warn that Sugilite can be a little unstable. The episode will premiere on the "Cartoon Network" on August 21.

In Los Angels during the first two shows of J. Cole "Dollar and A Dream" tour Drake did a surprise appearance. At the end of his performance Drake said "There's only 2 Kings in this sh*t right now, and they are standing on this stage." During Cole second performance Kendrick Lamar was also a guest performer.

French Montana will appear on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Montana said due to his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, he will appear on the upcoming season of the show. At first he told Khloe "he did not want to be on it, but telling her that is like trying to ruin her thing."

Khloe and French Montana do a joint interview for the first time

Khloe and Montana recently did a joint interview together for the first time and the couple talked openly about their relationship. First of all Montana gave credit to Diddy for the love connection. Study shows a lack of diversity among writers for HBO, Disney and MTV

A recent study by the Writer Guild Of America showed a lack of racial and gender diversity among writer for television networks including HBO, Disney and MTV. For the 2011-2012 television season only 30% of the writers were women and approximately 15% of the writers were minorities. The study looked at 28 television networks it showed that BET has the best diversity, 55% of the writer were women and 95% being minorities. 42% of MTV writers were women and 22% were minorities. Other networks such as FX, USA network, Fox, Cartoon network and HBO had under 22% women writers and minorities.

Tiny support Floyd Mayweather claim that his comments was misinterpreted

While on the Ricky Smiley show Tiny said she support Mayweather claim that his word were misinterpreted. In a recent interview it was thought that Mayweather said "what about the b*tch? I was f**king his b*tch." but what he really said was "he thinks I was f**cking his b*tch." Here is what Tiny said "I went back to it because first of all that is so untrue. I could just not imagine him saying, “Oh yeah, I did that.” So, I had to go back, put my earbuds on so I could really, really hear. When he says it he said, “He thought,” but when he says it his head is kind of like turned to the side. But if you look at his mouth, his mouth is moving. He’s saying, “He thought.” So, he didn’t really say that for real, for real. Everybody took it and the press, that’s what they do. But he didn’t say that ’cause that never happened. He’s never been in a room with me by myself. Anytime that he’s been around me it’s been people like this. So I couldn’t imagine him saying, “Yeah, I did that.”
