Former hip hop artist, Frost, spoke out to the public about how Easy-E’s death actually happened: “No girl has ever come forward saying she got the AIDS virus from Eazy. I’m gonna tell you what happened with Eazy getting AIDS and I believe this to this day. I don’t care if you guys got it on film, you can tell the world. They gave him tainted needles, acupuncture needles that tainted him and gave it to him – someone, I won’t say the name because it’s the devil’s name – I was told even from the last conversation not to even talk to that man. Not only that, I think they really had a strong hold on giving him tainted needles with the AIDS virus in them through acupuncture because how else can someone else die that fast from AIDS? Have you even heard of someone dying in two weeks of AIDS, bro?”

During a recent podcast, Lyor Cohen expressed his love for rapper Kanye West: “Kanye, I mean, you’re talking about a marketing, sonic, creative genius that will be considered one of our great American authors, writers, cultural ambassadors. He’s just beautiful and important and thank him everyday. When we wake up, we should say thank God we have f*cking Kanye in our lives. You may not have a job if it wasn’t for Kanye. Who knows?”

Jhalil Beats, while interviewed, was asked about the beef that had happened between Meek Mill and Drake: “I don’t think it’s over. I know Meek Mill. This is the first real beef in the social media age. Two top artists. Meek is coming off a number one album. Drake been accomplishing so much.” Jhalil was then later questioned about the trouble he was in after sampling the Undertaker’s theme song:

“I just thought sampling something like that would be a movie. It was like the entrance. It came from left field. I don’t think people would even imagine him coming back to a beat like that. I knew it would throw people off.”

Bow Wow is all over the place these days after first he was with Young Money/Cash Money for the longest time but was not getting any music made and no money coming in so he left and now he has signed with another big label. Bow Wow made sure to share this news on his Instagram yesterday showing a picture of him with Diddy and French Montana because he is now signed to Diddy and Bad Boy. Only time will tell if this is a better fit that actually gets his music out to his fans but who knows Bad Boy is pretty hit or miss.

The brand new mixtape/album “What A Time To Be Alive” has done great numbers in its first week. The album sold a whopping 339,538 units in the opening week with streams being added that number is 378,630 and that is without the album even streaming on spotify. This has landed the two the number one spot Billboard 200 which is amazing for a album that was pretty much a surprise.

 

Rich Homie Quan a couple days ago decided it would be a great idea to make a video of himself holding his baby son while smoking weed. Well this did not go over well with Child services because the rapper was soon after being investigated by them. Quan decided to apologize after getting tons of backlash and the apology is for his son and he says  “I regret that I chose to continue to smoke once Royal jumped in my lap,” Hopefully Quan has truly learned the error of his ways and is not just saying this because he was caught doing it.

 

DMX today was released from prison after he had been sentenced to six months behind bars back in July because of missed child support payments. He got out three months early because his attorney has actually conviced the court that he was never aware of the child support payments. A hearing is scheduled for a future date when the court will decide if DMX is telling the truth or not so it looks like he is not out of the woods yet. Keep it locked right here for any updates.

A Tribe Called Quest is a fundamental group in hip-hop and with their debut album way back in 1990 called People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rhythm they did big things. To honor this album on its 25^th anniversary they will be re-releasing it in full on November 13^th . In a press release Q-tip had this to say “I had this album in my head for years before I did it, looking at it overall, to see the thoughts of a 16-year-old gain any kind of acknowledgement makes me feel like I have arrived … But to see it in this incarnation … I’m humbled.” The re-release was mastered by Bob Power who actually engineered their first three albums and it features remixes by some artist that have been inspired by the group. Ali Shaheed Muhammad shared these words about this re-release. “This album means a lot, It was the beginning of our careers; the beginning of our imprint; the beginning of seeing life the way we saw it, and being able to put it down in words and music.” If you want to hear hip-hop at its very best make sure to buy this re-release and support A Tribe Called Quest.

Kanye West sat down for a talk with Vanity Fair where he talked about his running for president announcement and his upcoming album “SWISH”. Ye was first asked about the song he premiered at his show during New York Fashion Week called “Fade” and this is what he had to say about it. “We had a couple options and I just thought it sounded good against the people. For the 40 theaters across the globe, for the kids that all went to see it in theaters, I thought they’d be happy to hear some new music. I’ve been doing that [making a new album] too. That’s like a sonic landscape, a two-year painting. That song I played has been a year and a half in the making and it may be still a year from being complete. But it was to let people get a glimpse at the painting.” Something that everyone had noticed about this quote is that it seems like his album could still be a year away. Then Ye was asked if he still was going to run for president in 2020 and he responded “Oh, definitely, and then as soon as I said that, it was like, “Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful. Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.” I didn’t approach that because I thought it would be fun. It wasn’t like, Oh, let’s go rent some jet skis in Hawaii. No, the exact opposite. I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do.” So it seems Kanye is in fact serious about running though fans may be a little upset that his album might not be coming out for some time.

50 Cent is not slowing down in the music and is actually releasing a whole mixtape before his album called “Street King Immortal” drops. This is interesting and makes sense because we still don’t have a release date for the album so for all we know it could be coming out in 2016 giving plenty of room for a mixtape. 50 also managed to share some new music with the fans in a live stream he did on an app called Hangwith so things are looking good for 50 on the music side of things. Just Last night two men where found shot and killed right by a marijuana shop in Compton, California and it is being said it could be connect to Chief Keef and his GLO Gang. Reports are saying that the shop belongs to one named Wolf Da Boss who actually recorded some tracks with Cheif Keef and his GLO Gang crew. With Keef even having a picture of the shop on his Instagram but his rep says he had no financial ties to the shop and says he never even vistited it only posting the pic as a favor for Wolf. Young Thug has been out on his very first headlining tour but things are not looking good because he has now cancelled a ton of future shows with no explanation. Ticketmaster is show that his shows in Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati, Scottsdale, Houston, Dallas, Silver Spring, and Philadelphia have all been cancelled. As of now Thugs label has put out this explanation. “Regrettably, the a number of the shows on the upcoming Young Thug Hy!£UN35 Tour have been postponed.  Young Thug will use this time to focus on putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated debut album, Hy!£UN35.  postponed dates will be rescheduled to 2016 in support of the release of the Hy!£UN35 album.  Refunds will be available at point of purchase.  We apologize for any inconvenience”.

50 Cent seems to always been involved in a lawsuit though they are usually against him but now it seems he is suing his former business partner for $800 thousand. His former business partners name is Andrew Jameson and he is suing him for falsely representing 50 on the cable channel E!. TMZ is reporting that 50 paid Jameson $270,000 to make some deals on his behalf and when this deal ran its course Jameson went onto E! and tried to get a reality tv show up and running called “The Unit”. The show was said to feature “young white woman” on Jamesons request because it would make the show more sellable which 50 Cent found really offensive. 50 is suing to get back what he lost financially and for damaging his relationship with NBC Universal. Lawyer of Jameson had this to say about 50 “His claims aren’t worth 50 cents. In fact, Andrew is the one owed money — several months of unpaid salary… and he’s in arbitration to get it.” Keep it locked for any updates on this lawsuit.

Nineteen year old white rapper from Hamilton, Ohio, has made waves on social media the last couple weeks because of his music video “Drill Time”. The video features the young rapper waving around guns and pretty much copying everything you see from any new chicago rapper with lyrics to match as well filled with talk of guns and killing with said guns. Now while speaking with Complex the game was asked about what he though about Slim Jesus and he gave him some real advice. “I think that Slim Jesus either really better be fucking killing or he’s gonna get his ass smoked, I worry about kids these days rapping about things that they’re not really about.” Game continues “Sometimes I think it’s sad because lives can be lost when playing those games, be careful, Slim Jesus.” Those are some wise words for Slim Jesus who even did an interview saying that he doesn’t do anything that he brags about doing in his songs. Pharrell took over iHeartRadio’s twitter account recently giving fans a Q&A session. During the session he was of course asked if there would ever be another N.E.R.D. album in the future. To everyones surprise Pharrell’s answer was exactly what they had wanted to hear and it is on the way. Pharrell gave no details about the album though so fans just have to speculate at this time.
