Jay Z mother Gloria Carter opened a new restaurant and Jay and Bey was there for the grand opening. The trouble couple was in Newark, New Jersey for the ribbon cutting ceremony for Diamondz N Da Ruff. Throughout his entire rap career Jay has mention his mother in several of his songs. On one song he rap:
"I was conceived by Gloria Carter and Adnes Reeves," Jay Z raps on "December 4," "Who made love under the sycamore tree / Which makes me A more sicker emcee / And my momma would claim / At 10 pounds, when I was born, I didn't give her no pain."
