After a long wait, music fans have been treated to an exciting week of new releases. Andre 3000 finally drops his debut solo album, New Blue Sun, Drake released an extended version of his latest album called Scary Hours 3, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz blessed fans with a new joint project, and more.

Andre 3000, one-half of the iconic duo OutKast, has surprised fans with his debut solo album, New Blue Sun

This album marks his first solo project after a remarkable 17-year break from releasing music. However, instead of showcasing his rap skills, the Atlanta rap legend focuses on his musical versatility by playing the flute and other wind instruments throughout the album.

Drake Isn’t Done Yet

Drizzy dropped a surprise extended version of his latest album, For All The Dogs, titled For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition. The extended version features six brand new songs by the rap superstar, including the track “Evil Ways” featuring fellow rap superstar J. Cole

Chicago rapper Lil Durk and his label, Only The Family(OTF) dropped their joint mixtape Nightmares In The Trenches. The mixtape contains 11 songs and it will have features by Rob49, Icewear Vezzo, YTB Fatt, and others. 

Busta Rhymes Drops ‘Blockbusta’ Tracklist

New York rap legend Busta Rhymes has shared his tracklist for his upcoming album, Blockbusta.

The album contains 19 tracks and has a star-studded featured artists list of Burna Boy, Coi Leray, BIA, Chris Brown, Shenseea, Kodak Black, and others. Blockbusta is set to release on November 24.

E-40’s Rule of Thumb: Rule 1

Bay Area rap legend E-40 dropped his 26th studio album titled Rule of Thumb: Rule 1. The album contains 23 songs and has features from artists such as Larry June, Too $hort, Gucci MAne, NBA Youngboy and others.

Danny Brown Drops A New Project

Detroit rapper Danny Brown dropped his sixth studio album titled Quaranta. The album contains 11 songs and features production from The Alchemist. This is the second project of 2023 for Brown who worked with rapper JPEGMAFIA on their joint album, Scaring the Hoes.

42 Dugg Releases ‘Spindatbac’

Detroit rapper 42 Dugg released his single “Spindatbac” which is the first single he has released since his release from prison in October 2023. In a preview on his Twitter (X) account, he was in the studio with rappers J. Cole and Westside Gunn. 

Key Glock’s ‘Monaco Freestyle’

On Nov. 11, Memphis rapper Key Glock released his single “Monaco Freestyle,” after previously teasing the song on his social media. The song cover is a drawing of Key Glock walking a goat.

Jay Rock Is ‘Still That Way’ Feat. Bongo ByTheWay

Los Angeles rapper Jay Rock released the song and video for his new single “Still That Way,” featuring Bongo ByTheWay. The video included Jay Rock and friends riding through a desert in various cars and rapping on a makeshift set of his Los Angeles neighborhood, Watts. 

Paul Wall x That Mexican OT

Houston rap legend Paul Wall is back with another single release ahead of his upcoming album via Oiler Mobb/ONErpm. “Covered In Ice” features fellow Texan rapper, That Mexican OT. 

Big Scarr’s Posthumous Music Video

Big Scarr‘s music video for “Fantastic” was released on November 16. The video was the last one that he shot, the late Memphis rapper died on December 22, 2022, from an accidental drug overdose.  

October London Shares ‘The Greatest Gift’

Rising R&B sensation October London has released his Christmas album, The Greatest Gift. The album was released via Death Row Records/gamma. Channeling the romantic side of Christmas, October London’s smooth and sultry vocals shine throughout the 10-track album.

Drake Breaks Hiatus With Upcoming EP ‘Scary Hours 3’ & J. Cole Collab Visuals

Drake has sent shockwaves through the music world with a surprise announcement of his upcoming EP, Scary Hours 3, following his declaration of going on hiatus. The chart-topping artist captivated fans by sharing a dynamic two-minute trailer, teasing its release. The Toronto native has also teamed up with J. Cole and dropped the music video for their collaboration, “First Person Shooter.”

‘Scary Hours 3’

Drake recently previewed his surprise announcement of his new  EP titled, Scary Hours 3, after claiming he was going on a hiatus. 

Drizzy surprised his fans on Nov. 16 by posting a thrilling two-minute trailer on his Instagram account, hinting at his Scary Hours 3 release, scheduled for Nov. 17. In the trailer, the “IDGAF” rapper boasts about his recent achievements, acknowledging his unwavering confidence in his latest work. 

“I’ll say this to you: I feel no need to appease anybody,” he says. “I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years. Even though I’m not really, like, into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery,” Drake said in the trailer. 

He also claimed that he made the EP in five days. The response from fans on social media was overwhelming, with users on Twitter (X) expressing their enthusiasm for Drake’s upcoming project.  

One user named @GoIdenState commented, “MY GOAT DROPPING BACK TO BACK,” and another user named @erujabidi commented, “This is all we needed..omg.”  

 It’s All A Blur Tour: Big As The What?

This news comes shortly after Drake’s announcement in October that he planned to take a break from music due to stomach-related health issues. Following the conclusion of his It’s All A Blur Tour, Drake shared the statement with his fans, expressing the need to prioritize his well-being. 

However, the unveiling of Scary Hours 3 and the announcement of his tour with J. Cole named It’s All A Blur Tour: Big As The What? cast doubt on Drake’s hiatus claims.

‘First Person Shooter’

Adding to the controversy, Drake and J. Cole dropped the music video for their collaboration, “First Person Shooter.” The video features Drake showcasing his dance moves, including a Michael Jackson-inspired spin and his signature sequined glove. 

Meanwhile, Scary Hours 3 marks Drake’s third project since Nov. 2022. The previous projects include the collaborative album Her Loss with Atlanta rapper 21 Savage and his latest album, For All The Dogs

Drake Ties MJ?

In other news involving Drake, he tied the late music icon Michael Jackson with the most No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 songs by a male solo artist with 13. Social media fans debated whether his accomplishment was equal to Jackson’s due to present-day streaming.

Drake and J. Cole are teaming up to bring their music to college students across the United States with their upcoming joint tour, It’s All A Blur: Big As The What? Tour. College students can prepare for an unforgettable musical experience as the duo takes over nationwide campuses.

Drake and J. Cole are set to embark on their highly anticipated joint tour, It’s All A Blur: Big As The What? Specifically targeting college students.

The duo has chosen various locations for their performances to connect with their influential fanbase. With the goal of performing for those who have had the most impact on their success, Drizzy and Cole have carefully selected multiple states for their tour, including San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL; and Nashville, TN. 

The tour will also pay tribute to the communities that played a pivotal role in their early careers.

Surprise, Surprise 

Drake, who affectionately refers to Columbus, OH, as his second home, will commemorate the city during the tour, showcasing his appreciation for the fans who have been with him from the beginning.

This gratitude extends to other cities where both artists experienced significant growth and success. In addition to the initial tour schedule, two special dates have been added to the lineup. 

Lexington, KY, and Penn State will host performances, although J. Cole won’t be present for the latter. The Big As The What? Tour also marks the start of the “She Knows” rapper’s highly anticipated festival, The Dreamville Festival, which will kick off just two weeks after the joint tour concludes. 

Fans can expect back-to-back memorable experiences as both artists bring their distinct styles and energy to the stage.
