Bobby has been accussed of taking Lloyd instrumental beat for "Jackpot" without giving credit to the original emcee. Shmurda used the beat for his hit single "Hot Ni**a" which blew up on youtube. Shmurda was told by Jahlil the track producer that Lloyd never purchased the beat so Shmurda snatched it up."

The Starz television series "Power" premiered last June. The show which is produced by 50 Cent and stars Omar Hardwick, who plays the owner of a New York City Night Club and is also a player in one of the city biggest illegal drug network, Naturi Naughton, Sikor and Lelan Loren make up the rest of the cast. The show is a hit especially among African Americans which make of 71% of its viewers. Nielsen rating show "Power" average 1.082 million viewer up from 754,000 and two quick replay brought the total for the night to 1.769 million. Over last weekend it nearly 2.5 million viewers is the largest total audience for a Staz finale since "Spartacus: War of the Damned" in April 2013. According to the network the show average 4 million viewer per episode when calculating all available viewing platform such as Starz on demand and Starz Play. The show has been renewed for a 10 episode second season. Starz will replay the entire season of "Power" on Encore Black beginning August 12th at 10 pm.
Beyonce will perform at the 2014 VMA Award and she will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the VMA highest honor. The award take place on August 24 at The Forum in INglewood, CA. Beyonce will join a cast that include Britney Spears, Madonna and, Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson. The 5th annual North Coast Music Festival will take place on August 29th-31st at Union Park in Chicago it will end the 2014 summer music festival season. This years North Coast Music Festival will be headline by Snoop Dog and Kid Cudi. On Monday rapper Drake performed at OVO Fest in his home town of Toronto, Canada. During his performance the Canadian rapper sung his new single "Days in the East" which Drake allegedly said was about his tumultuous relationship with Rihanna. As Drake performed the song on a screen behind him flashed a fiery red and the number 6 flashed on the screen three times. After each time a picture of Rihanna face appeared. Drake and Rihanna has been seeing each other on and off for a couple of years. After the concert Drake took to Instagram and posted a picture of him standing on stage in a silhouette with a red flaming 6 on the screen behind him. The caption of the photo said "All I know."
Los Angeles rapper YG performed a concert in Edmonton, Canada over the weekend. During the concert YG lost his voice and could not continue the show the crowd got upset and started tossing bottles at the stage. The rapper responded to the concert goers by jumping into the crowd causing melee, the crowd then began to throw other object onto the stage so the concert was cut short. Club security got into physical altercation with individual at the concert. The promoter said the club could lose its license because of the riot and that is why a lawsuit may be filed.
In a recent radio interview Atlanta based rap group Migos discussed Tupac and Biggie and what rap would be like if they were still alive. Migos member Quavo believes in today rap music there is a lot of biting and borrowing something that was not prevalent in the 90's. Quavo said "“A lot of rappers wouldn’t be out today,” Quavo said. “Yep. Because a lot of them doing what they doing. Or doing what they did. And, you know, they didn’t really too much like folks doing they style. Taking they style. Like back then when people was taking the style they was getting in trouble about it. You was getting exposed about it. You had to come with it. You know what I’m saying? Now everybody bite off each other, feed off each other. I ain’t saying nothing bad, but they wasn’t allowing that in the 90s. You was with one side and one side only.”

Jay Z mother Gloria Carter opened a new restaurant and Jay and Bey was there for the grand opening. The trouble couple was in Newark, New Jersey for the ribbon cutting ceremony for Diamondz N Da Ruff. Throughout his entire rap career Jay has mention his mother in several of his songs. Viacom is going to lose millions of dollars because of the MTV show "T.I. Road To Redemption. During an episode that air February 2009, T.I. visited The Haugabrooks Funeral Home in downtown Atlanta and view the body of Joseph Williams the scene was aired by MTV. The William family sued Viacom for invasion of privacy, violation of likeness and negligent misrepresentation about the decedent. While Viacom insurance policy covers 3 million for each loss, the company alleges that the William family has filed multiple charges and the company suffered multiple losses, each with a high cost. T.I. nor any of his affiliated companies were mentioned in the suit as being financially responsible for airing the episode.
Rapper Lil Wayne was recently exiting a Supperclub in Los Angeles and was confronted by someone who claimed to be a member of the Crips gang. In video uploaded to Youtube you can see Wayne walking to an Maybach with singer/actress Christina Millian when a man wearing a blue cap approach him. The man told Wayne, who allegedly has ties to the Blood gang that he need to "check in" when in the area. The alleged gang member said "Wayne, what up? I'm Big Magic, cuz, what happening? Aye Holla at me.. You better check in nigga.. crip, straight up." The man continued to speak he said "nigga can't say sh*t. You can call who you want too. Birdman anybody." It is not known what Wayne exact ties to the Blood gang is, but he has made reference to his relationship with the gang.
According to Vin Diesel, rapper Iggy is going to have a cameo appearance in Fast & Furious 7. Vin Diesel said "I just worked with her two weeks ago" We casted her in Fast & Furious 7. " Iggy has another gig outside of music. She is going to host MTV House of Style later this year.
